  1. Hello,

I was approved at my IR-1 visa interview on August 29th at the US Consulate in Casablanca. They said my visa will be issued in two weeks. Now it is almost two months later, and they haven't told me anything new. Eventually I called the consulate and managed to get a hold of them. They told me that I was 100% approved as far as the immigrant visa section is concerned, and that another section was doing a review on my case.

I called the NVC too and they said that in their system I am on administrative processing. But on CEAC it just says "Ready" and does not say AP. Has anyone else experienced this? How am I 100% approved but still under review? What could this other section be?

If anybody has any insight that would be amazing.

    Sincerely,

    Mo

  2. Hello everyone,

My wife had her IR-1 interview at the consulate in Casablanca, Morocco 16 days ago. They told her at the interview that her passport will be returned within two weeks with the visa inside. Now I don't know what is the holdup. When I check CEAC, it still says "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section." When I search the passport # on the ustraveldocs website, it says "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted."

When I emailed the consulate, they said: "Your IR1 case is still pending Consular officer review, for this reason Your visa has not been issued yet. We will contact you once all the reviews are complete in order to proceed with your visa application." How is it pending consular office review, when the officer approved the visa at my wife's interview?

Does anyone have recent experience with waiting to get an IR-1 visa for the Casablanca consulate lately? How long has it been taking lately?

Thanks for all your answers and help.
