  1. today i recieved a letter from my local office to appear for a Adjustment interview?status at entry into the united states and current status in the united states. it is for monday. not much time to getting things together. it states to asked for the same officer than the interview i had 2 yrs ago. it is on plain white paper. no mention about videotaping or anything. i got floodet last september and my pictures and my paasport got ruined . i have birth certificates and marriage license. i have pictures from my house after the flood. showing everything was under water. i hope that will be enough.

  2. yes i have been waiting for 15 long months, they cant even tell me why its taking so long. why should i forget about the ead and biometrics? i filed in june 2007 with a lawyer. had some rfe, lawyer did not fill out paperwork right. interview seemed to be okay. the officer said he had to look something up in the computer, but everything is fine. when i went to chicago for infopass. the lady at the counter said they have a stack of these I-485 inquiries from last yr feb. that are still pending. she said its upstairs and just waiting for the officer to approve. she told me i do not need more fingerprints. they have everything they need.

  3. i send of my paperwork for a renewal ead ( been waiting for my pending I-485 after interview on 02/29.2008) on april 30 2009, received date of may 04, LUD 04/12/2009. when i look at other timelines for chicago it seems everybody is getting a pretty quick appointment for biometrics. i just dont want to get lost in the system again. at my interview they told me i should hear from them in 2-3 weeks. never happened. i had a infopass about a month ago and they told me it is in the final review stage. ha . i hope this ead will not be like that. i am tired of waiting for anything from USCIS.

  4. i was here out of status, i come with my ex-husband who was in the army, he abondened me before we removed the conditions. i later got married and filed for AOS. I just hope final review means that it is the last step. as far as the unemployment goes i was legal to work but the ead expired, so till i get a nwe one i can not answer yes to being able to work. so i have to wait to refile my claim till i get a new one issued. i do not know what the hold up on my AOS is. the officer just said he had to check something in the computer and will let us know. my online status never changed since oct. 2007

  5. i applied for AOS in june 2007, got my ead in january 2008, i had my interview on feb. 29th, 2008, signed some papers and was told to wait 2-3 weeks to hear from them. i finally made an infopass after my lawyer wrongly told me i was approved and did not need a new ead. i just got laid-off and applied for unemployment cause my laywer told me i was eligble. wrong answer. when i asked him to send me my approval letter ( he lives 3 hrs away) he told me he made a mistake and it was a different person. so i might lose my job and unemployment because i did not renew EAD. i went for infopass to see what the wait was about, and they told me i was in final review upstairs. what does that mean and why would that take so long? she also told me i would not need anymore fingerprints. i applied for another ead anyway, because i do not trust anything the uscis says.

  6. i went to my aos interview on tuesday. when the IO asked me for my passport, he said there might be a problem because it looked like somebody altered the dates. the passport is expired and the last time i used it to enter the US they punched holes in it. their was no reason for me to use it for anything. i already had a conditional card. anyway when my ex-husband abandoned me he kept all my paperwork and we never removed the conditional. later he gave me back the expired passport and kept the new one. i remarried a few years later and filed for AOS. i never realized there was anything wrong with my passport, seeing that the dates a still the same. the IO also had a copy of the passport in my file from my POE. he proceeded with the interview and at the and said everything looks good and if he needed anything he would RFE me. he had us sign a paper and gave me back my passport telling me not to ever show it to anybody and he would to his check this afternoon. if he does need any other proof of my legal entry would their be a way to get that even after so many years have passed? he would think the copy in the file of my last entry should be sufficient. i am just pretty anxious for this to be over and wondered what to expect.

Are you suggesting that it is possible that your ex tampered with the dates?

I dont think so. the dates were the same then in the copy that the UCIUS had on file when it got processed in NEW YORK. maybe he spilled something on it and just filled it back in. i won,t be able to ask him, because i don't even know where he lives at.i was just worried that with the dates changed it would be hard to show proof of legally entering the states.

  7. thanks for the answer, my ex pretty much kept all my paperwork. i am just glad they had the file from when i entered. i dont know how hard it will be to get a new passport. as for the interview i guess i just have to wait. THe IO was pretty positive about everything else, just saying that he would do his check. this is just a very frustrating process, and i have to say, that this website is more helpful than the lawyer i had.If i had found this website first i would have just done the paperwork on my own, seeing the only problem i had was my overstay and never removing the conditional.
