Hi guys, i just want to ask if there is anybody here who have same situation as me.. i have double registration on my NSO birth certificate. I did not know this unitil i went back to NSO yesterday May 30, 2008. They told me i have 2 registrations, first was under my fathers name and second was under my mother's name. i did not know that i was registered first under my father's family name (my father filed this registartion last 1988). my second registration was under my mother's family name last 1996, which is the name i use since i was a kid until now. my parents were separated and i was brought up by my grandparents (mother side). i had not seen my father ever since and had no communication with him. I was asking the NSO office for a copy of my birth certificate and a cenomar yet they gave me my first registration under my father's family name, last year i was able to get a copy of my second registartion (birth certificate under my mother's name). Now, They blocked my second registration because they are strict already on their policy that "first registration would be the one honored", unless my first registration would be cancelled. The NSO office told me to file a petition to cancel my first registration of birth certificate. My problem is,the petition was on process but my US Embassy interview would be on JUNE 18, 2008 already, and the petition for cancellation may take 2 months. As of now i cant get my CENOMAR. what i have now to present is just an affidavit that tells that my petition for cancellation of my first regitsrtion of birth certificate is already on process. I need your advise guys.. would it be okay to continue my interview this JUNE 18? who had experienced such situation like this.
