  1. Welcome Isa!

Hi everybody, I havent received my biometrics appointment, and it seems must of you had!, I just received a letter telling me I was transfered to California Office.

Do you think this is normal, I just should wait? or should I call USCIS?

    Itzy

Thanks Itzy! Maybe your biometrics letter got lost in the mail. I would call USCIS and ask if they have already sent you a letter or not. They should have that information on the system...

    Isa.

hey Itzy We have not received a bio appt notice yet either and our case was filed a day after yours it does seem like most people have gotten them already tho. maybe ours is lost in the mail with yours lol.

was wondering if it was worth calling on it. Wouldnt it show up on the online status that an appt letter was sent? anyone that has received their notice please let me know if it shows on CRIS thanks

We are still waiting on the bio appt notice as well. I'm not worried about it yet but it does seem like a lot of people got theirs quickly.

  2. A little late to the game but as they always say, better late than ever. We are December filers as well and just went for the Biometrics appointment this morning.

I am just now skimming this topic as I had an occurrence I thought odd and wanted to see if anyone else had this happen as well.

Submitted and received everything fine in December. NOA's arrived and Bio Appointment letter, even and RFE, all arrived with no problem. Then today, I received and email from CRIS stating that on Jan. 7th the post office returned two notices they tried to send to us. We have not moved and have been checking the mail on a regular basis, has anyone else had this experience?

    Thanks,

    Zenny and Eric

Sort of. Our most recent notice had a note on it saying to "try" our apartment number. They had left off the last digit. Thankfully someone wrote that note on it otherwise ours would have been sent back too. I called to advise there was an error and I'm hoping they will fix it.

All the other notices were correct before so it just looks like a clerical error.

  3. Hi! This is Jenn posting. Congratulations Saffyre and good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews :)

Can anyone tell me what the cost for the courier would be if you wanted to receive the visa earlier in the morning rather than having to hang around all day waiting for it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. I have always had a hard time getting anything from the DOS line. All they will say is whether or not you have a interview date scheduled. They could not tell me why it was taking so long or if anything was wrong. I tried calling the US number for the embassy only to be told they could not help me and my fiancee (UK citizen) would need to call. This call the guy was rude and just wanted me off the phone - I didn't even get to the point of paying for the call... lol I had my fiancee call the embassy which come to find out is not actually a number at the London embassy. I believe it's a call center in Scotland. Her call did not last long at all and was told the embassy was missing documents for our case but would not say what documents. They gave her the email address, email code and I emailed them. After a few days I got a reply back stating they had everything and the reason nothing has happened was due to what I posted above. (Date of planned move)

The DOS line can tell you when documents have been received by the embassy and whether or not a interview has been set. Other then that they have no idea and will most likely tell you to call the embassy line or tell you to call back in a week or two.

  5. They do schedule interviews based on anticipated travel date. I was told that in a email from the embassy.

This is what was in the email:

It is standard procedure to delay the scheduling of the visa interview when the applicant indicates a later departure date to the United States, this is because the K-1 visa is only valid for six months from the date of issue.

Back in January we sent our information to embassy with a June travel date and we were not given a interview until May 21. It shocked the hell out of me that they would actually try to accommodate you when nothing about this process is accommodating. It wasn't accommodating for us really because now Jenn wont be moving until August.

If you put a date later in the year or did not put a date at all I would bite the bullet and call the embassy.

Someone mentioned calling the Department of State number but they can't really help in regards to the interview date. At least they could not tell me why it was taking so long. They told me to call the embassy because they do not have access to then entire case information. I talked to quite a few people and every time it was the same thing. Some said we were most likely missing something in our case or they would just give me a guess answer to get me off the phone. You will have to call the Visa Information line on the embassy website. If they cant answer your question(s) make sure they give you the email address to the embassy and code. Without that code in the subject they will delete the email.

    Hope this helps

  6. Be prepared to wait.... thats all I can say... We have been waiting since the end of January to get a interview date. The State department number really is no help at all to be honest. Every time I call I get a different answer which basically means they know nothing.

  7. I've had jury duty and working lots, so this is my first chance to look at the thread in a few days. Nothing to report, was approved on 10/18, NVC does not have it and spoke with a supervisor at CSC...they have no idea where our paperwork is :crying::crying: So much for my NOA2!

Congrats to all those approved who got to NVC and out so quickly..I'm happy for you all and extremely jealous.

I know exactly how you feel. We were approved 10/11 and have heard nothing since. Getting the same run around by the NVC and CSC as you... NVC is saying 4 weeks to 90 days and approved petitions are sent in bulk from the service centers. The CSC is saying it should only take 4 weeks and they are sent out immediately after being approved. Our petition was touched on 10/12 so i am assuming that was when it was shipped but who knows.

Gotta love dealing with our broken gov't.... Nice of them to handle such important documents which hold nothing but personal information with such care...
