  1. I also have my interview in a month.

If i am correct, this is the list:

-confirmation page of your delivery address decision

    -passport

-i don't understand if another pass-photo is required or not (different links say different things), beside the one already mailed - i will bring one just to be sure!

-cash or credit card to pay the Immigration Fee

-eventually, documents requested to you by them, in case of mistake in previous steps.

It is not required, but i will bring receipt from the medical and basically ANYTHING related to previous steps of immigration ahah just to be sure...

    Did i forget something?

  4. I ask here in case someone still checks this - can I ask you how much you paid for the Medical? I am a bit in shock.

I payed 300€ directly to the doctor; then 36€ for the X-ray. Now i just received a bill saying that i have to pay another 170€ for the lab costs! I thought those were included in what i paid the doctor! I'll call the doctor as soon as he's back (this week he was on vacation), but i wanted to understand if it's normal to pay almost 500€ for the medical!!

Is it easy to get one from Italy?

It's not hard in itself, but considering i live in Germany, it means that i have to request it online, have someone there get it and mail it to me. Because making the request for them to mail it to me in Germany is way too complicated.

Why do you think the page referring to Italy in the German Police Record could not be enough? It is an official document...

  6. Hi!

I just received the email IV; Frankfurt consulate is " ready to begin final processing of the immigrant visa applicant(s) named below in this case. I followed the link and asked for an appointment to be scheduled (now waiting for another email, again...). Problem is, I made a mistake previously. Since for the I-130 petition it was enough for the translation to be done by anybody, writing underneath that they were able to translate etc, i thought this would be ok even at this phase. Obviously i was wrong, the translation needs to be certified, like, for real (more money, yeee!). So they requested me:

(  ) Birth certificate - certified translation (the one you mailed to us is not from a certified translator) or bring the original international birth certificate

(  ) Marriage certificate - certified translation (the one you mailed to us is not from a certified translator) or bring the original international marriage certificate

(  ) Police certificates from:  Italy – certified translation (the one you mailed to us is not from a certified translator)

I have the birth and marriage certificate in the international version (i sent them a copy, but not the original, that i have with me), so no problem for those. Problem is, i mailed them the italian police record and i did not make a copy of it (yes, i'm stupid). So now i have no idea how to obtain a certified translation, since the original of it is in frankfurt! I emailed them, asking at first another thing: since I am italian but live in Germany, the german police record that i provided (for which no translation is needed) contained an extra page, regarding the crimes committed in Italy (nothing); i asked them therefore if it that page could not be enough, since it is official too.  If they will answer negatively, i will have to ask them...what? to mail me back the italian police record? to send me a scan?

Sorry. I was so proud of having done everything right up to this point. And then this. Anyone has an idea of how to fix this?

  7. Hallo!

Vielen Dank!

  8. We were in the exact same situation.

My husband, american, domiciled in germany for 7 months; me, italian, domiciled in Germany. We filed everything and when it came to 864 my husband was already back in the States. We are right now waiting to receive the email to schedule the interview, but I am pretty confident that everything should be fine since, exactly as you: 1)he had an address there (parents) 2)he filed taxes regularly 3)he was seeking job - and then found one, but again, seeking is enough 4)he had his bank account there (although he didn't need to prove it, i mean, there is nothing on 864 that allows you to state that if i remember correctly). The point, as other people already made clear, is showing them that you still have solid bounds to the US. Mainly, being ok with filing taxes [that usually is the biggest problem, for what i have read until now on visajourney]. So you're all good!

  9. Hi!

Frankfurt will send you NOA (notification of approval); online they say within 90 days. If the 90 days go without answer, you are authorized to email them concerning your Application. In my case, I emailed them after 90 days and they explained that "due to a change in office resources, our processing time for Form I-130 is over 90 days",

In my case, it took them 110 days.

So: do not worry if you do not receive immediate answer. You got the two pieces of paper i got too.

The next step will be the NOA (which still does not have a case number). After that, within 4/6 weeks from NOA, you will receive Packet 3 (just a letter with a checklist and your case number!). In my case, it took only 2 weeks! so, what took them longer for the NOA was gifted me back after ;)

  10. I just posted in another section asking wether 864 to be mailed as Packet 3 needs to be fresh ink signature or if a scan is enough. Apparently scan is fine.

However, I still do not find a certain statement about wether this is allowed in the DCF, specifically by the Frankfurt Consulate.

Specifically, in the Interview Checklist on the website they say i need to bring <<All original documents that pertain to you according to the document checklist>>.

Does this mean that i will need by then to bring the original i-864 in fresh ink?

Anyone who went through Frankfurt Consulate has experience about this?

    Thanks!

Uhm, then i read non-updated guideline! Also in the one they refer to in the Packet 3 they say "original signature", that made me think they meant ink...

    Thank you!

    This make life much easier!

  13. Hello. I just received packet 3 requiring me to send to Frankfurt all the usual checklist documents.

I am in Germany but my husband (the petitioner) moved back to the US. Since the 864 has to be signed by him, what are we supposed to do:

-he fills it, mail it to me and i mail it together with everything else?

-i mail everything except 864, and separately he mails 864 to Frankfurt?

Apologize if it's a dumb question but i didn't find other thread on this specific issue!

My husband wrote an email to the USCIS Frankfurt address and the reply actually came quite fast.

Would you let me know when you hear anything back? Since you filed a bit earlier than us that would give us an idea when to expect to hear something.

Yeah will do, still haven't gotten anything yet.

(sorry for answering same thing on different topics, thought it might be helpful)

I am in the same exact situation - filed May 15 and never got anything more than the Fee receipt. The 90 days recently expired; we emailed them and they answered:

Thank you for your inquiry. The petition is still pending. Unfortunately, due to a change in office resources, our processing time for Form I-130 is over 90 days; currently, we are working on petitions filed on or before May 9, 2019. At this time, we anticipate you should receive a decision or notice of other action within 30 days from the date of this email. We appreciate your patience.

I also was worried about no NOA at all, but their email confirms that they got everything so that should be ok.

    certified translator.

  15. Hi! We had the same issue, but regarding DCF.

We filed I-130 and the 90 days arrived, and no answer. We email them and they answered in 3 days.

So apparently they are running late due to "change in office resources". This might be the same problem with other visa? I bet this has to do with the plan of not accepting any more DCF from January 2020 and the closing of USCIS office here in the future.

  16. Just got an email and in the end we all assumed everything right. They probably didn't really know what it means a work visa in this situation because they offered me a job but once I am officially there able to work. So they suggested to wait for the green card process!

Thanks for your answers! Let's see how Frankfurt moves on now!

Did you look at the O1 or EB1 requirements? If you don't qualify then there is no work visa option that will get you to the US in under a year unfortunately.

I don't fit in those, or better, for sure not for the position the job would be. I do have a PhD and so on, but the kind of position they want to put me in would not need that kind of requirements.

Odd, there are lots of Italians in the US.

Intrigued as to what they have in mind, please let us know, does sort of sound that they are clueless.

Yes, I do think when the boss mentioned the visa probably did not previously make enough researches. I'll let you know! I think if they want to hire me they probably just have to wait the DCF, which makes even better sense to me.

  18. Thanks for the many answers.

The job requires a native Italian speaker and they told me they couldn't find any also qualified for the specific job. That would be the only element, given that besides that it is not a highly skilled job or so.

While talking they mentioned "expedite work visa" but didn't go into specifics yet.

I will be talking to them tomorrow again, and hopefully they did more research into what it means for them to request a work visa for someone who already has applied for a green card...

In general, I see that it is more risky than fruitful - and that it does anyway make more sense to wait for the DCF to work...
