Finally some progress on my case. My case file was transferred from Islamabad Embassy to Montreal.

Got an email from Montreal to complete and submit Packet 3. 

Can some one elaborate on what a packet 3 is? I wasn't asked to fill this before when they scheduled the interview in Islamabad.

Finally my case has been transferred to Montreal consulate from Islamabad. Can anyone please shed some light on how long it is taking to get an interview date?

My EB-2 case was approved but at interview time they assigned the case to embassy in Islamabad (Pakistan) my home country even though i had filed before hand to get my interview done in Montreal Canada because i am a permanent resident there. 

My lawyer has filed a request online and also paper to Islamabad embassy to transfer my case to Montreal back in October 2019. 

Does anyone here have a similar experience and knows how long it will take to get a reply or case transferred? 

we haven't heard anything from Islamabad embassy since.

Has anyone here have experience with transferring a case file from one embassy to another in a different country.

I have requested US embassy Islamabad to transfer my case file to US embassy in Montreal. (NVC wrongly assigned my case to Islamabad and upon contact to NVC they said they cant do anything now and we have to request the embassy to transfer it)

Any one knows how long it usually takes?

Problem is not traveling to pakistan for interview. Problem is after interview they keep your passport for god knows how long. And ill loose my job if i go there without knowing how long i have to stay there. 

Still havent heard anything back from NVC. Interview still scheduled for islamabad even though we requested for montreal because i live in canada. Only 10days left. Dont know what to do

I still dont have any reply from NVC, confused and worried what i should do!

what if they dont respond and i miss the interview in Pakistan?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing about this urgent matter for xxxxxx, the Attorney of Record in this case.  On behalf of our client, xxxxx and a lawful permanent resident of Canada, we respectfully request to change interview location and reschedule his interview.  On August 19, the National Visa Center informed xxx that he had been scheduled for his immigrant visa interview in Islamabad, Pakistan.  In numerous filings to USCIS and to the Department of State, we stated that  xxxx was a permanent resident of Canada.  A copy of xxxx Canadian Permanent Resident Card is attached to this email.  xxx currently lives in Ontario, Canada and wishes to be interviewed at the U.S. Embassy in Montreal.  The U.S. Embassy in Montreal is the Embassy closest to xxxx residence that processes immigrant visas in the employment-based second preference category. xxxx does not live in Pakistan and is not able to attend an interview in Pakistan.  We respectfully request that xxxx interview be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy in Montreal as soon as possible.

@Daniel2014 my priority date is may 2017, so it has been current for some time now

I can do interview in Islamabad, but problem with that is if they keep my passport, i wont be able to come back to my job in canada until they return me the passport.

They scheduled it to the wrong consulate. What to do now :S

I just got the email. They scheduled me on sept 27, but they scheduled me in islamabad, pakistan instead on montreal canada which i requested since i am in canada. :S

I dont know why but now i am having a little panic attack. anxiety you could say. 😕

it says your interview date was provided to you by NVC, but i haven't received any date yet.

Guys please check you NVC case status, Mine just changed to In transit. Priority date June 28th

Mine still says at NVC. What does in transit suppose to mean from visa interview perspective?

My priority date is May 2017, Since my i-140 was received by USCIS in may 2017, i dont have Labor i got approved via National interest waiver.
