I wanted to ask 2 things
1.) - when my wife arrives in the US (at the airport), what can she expect. What does Customs and Border Patrol do to new K-3 arrivals? Do they conduct and interview? What papers does she need to bring?
2/) Also, for people moving to the US, I have read that customs allows some items to be imported duty free. HAs anyone had a problem with customs and paying duty?
thanks

Here is what I will write, does it sound good?
Should I get it notarized (affadavit jurat)?
Jane Doe received a Visa R1 B1/B2 with a stay from June 23rd, 2004 to September 21st, 2004. She filed an extension of stay (I-539) which was received by USCIS on September 17, 2004. The application was denied on October 13, 2004 and Jane Doe received this information a few weeks later. As soon as she received this reply from USCIS, she arranged to leave the United States as soon as she could arrange a ticket back to her home. She left the US one week after receiving the denial letter (approximately November 3, 2004)
thanks

And the actual questions is:
Should I put "yes" on the application. they she stayed past the visa and attach an explanatory note?
Or do I just put "no"

Yes, I can not remember if they count the whole time after her visa expired, but as long as it less than 6 moths it should not matter.
Thanks for the quick reply. By "Yes" it means that she was NOT unlawfully present right?

Hi
My wife has been to the US several times. She had applied for an extension of a visa and the extension got denied.
Once the denial came, she left the US within a week. She wasn't my wife at the time.
Now I am filling out a DS-156 form , the form asks "Have you ever violated the terms of a U.S. visa, or been unlawfully present in, or deported from, the United States?"
She was present in the US after her visa expired - but at the time, her extension application was pending.
Does this count as being "unlawfully present"?
thanks

My wife had her interview on the 29th of May and was told that she is approved and given a pink slip but was told that she will receive her visa in 30 to 60 days after administrative processing done in washington. My question here is how can I track the progress of this?
Khurram
Assalam alaikum Khurram bhai
Does admin processing happen for all visa applicants? Is it possible to get a visa without having to go through the admin processing? My wife will also be doing a K-3 in Islamabad
thanks

assalam alaikum Khurram
I am around 3 weeks behind you so thank you for all the information and questions.
Is there anything your wife had to send to the Embassy after receiving packet 3/4 - or are all forms to be brought to the interview.
Did the interview date come with packet 3/4 or does that come later?
thanks

Yes, thanks for the response about the sealed immigration packet, my wife better have that.
What do you mean by X-rays - is that the medical report?
Yes, for customs, she would certainly have more than $800 of stuff, I wonder if they look at her bags more closely since they know she is immigrating.
What did they ask in the quick interview on arrival in the US?
