He also has to count his daughter in his household size.

Is he going to be getting a place for the two of you when you arrive? Living with his mother and unemployed nephew will not be a great start to married life. Although at least you and the unemployed nephew will have something in common.

What i mean is my fiance’s mom, my fiance and my fiance’s nephew all live together in one house. He will be getting a place for us though once we file the application form.

And also his daughter isnt in contact with him ever since she was born and is currently living with her mom (my fiance’s ex) so basically they are estranged. Is putting his daughter in the household size really necessary?

  2. Hello! My fiance and I are applying for a fiance visa this coming december and we are wondering about the household requirements. I have a few concerns about it:

    1) he lives with his mom (employed) and his nephew (unemployed). He does not list them on his dependents on his tax.

    2) is he required to put them and count them on the household size?

    3) He is currently employed for a new job for almost 2 months now. He has to quit his previous job because he visited me here in the philippines recently for a month and his old job didnt allow him for a leave. Does him being employed for a short duration will affect our application for a k1 visa?

we computed his estimated annual income with his current job and it will be around 20-23,000 USD annually.

Thankyou in advance for the help!

  3. Hello! My fiance (26) and I (25) are planning to apply for a k1 visa this coming December. We’ve been together for 2 years now and seen each other twice in a year and he stays with me for a month before going back to the United States.

He’s never been married and so have I. Although when he was 21, he got his ex pregnant. He’s 26 now, the child is living with her mother who is also married to a different man, and my fiance only saw his daughter once when she was about a month old. My fiance and his ex still keep in touch due to the fact he sends money for his daughter for support, even though they are estranged since he said it is the right thing to do. Long story short, my fiance’s ex took the child away from him and does not want him to have a relationship with his child years ago.

My question is this. My fiance doesnt even lists his daughter as his dependent since he is estranged from his daughter. Will the embassy or the consulate still needs to know if he has a daughter even though there is no relationship between them to begin with?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

If asked, you must disclose.........but it sounds like a non-issue...........what list did you see?

this is the list that I saw in Chapter 7:

    A. Physical or Mental Disorders with Associated Harmful Behavior [1]

Applicants who have physical or mental disorders and harmful behavior associated with those disorders are inadmissible. [2] The inadmissibility ground is divided into two subcategories:

    • Current physical or mental disorders, with associated harmful behavior.

    • Past physical or mental disorders, with associated harmful behavior that is likely to recur or lead to other harmful behavior.

  5. Hello everyone! My name is Shanna and me and my fiancé are planning to apply for a k1 visa this December and I think we mostly have the requirements good to go. We’re just saving up the money so that we could start with the process.

Upon extensive research, I came upon a list in the Uscis website that might be subjected to a denial for my k1 visa

I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 2 disorder last February this year. For those who dont know: Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder that causes extreme mood swings and have little to no control of how to manage it: with bouts of mania (extreme happiness) and depression (extreme sadness). So far I have been in contact with a psychiatrist ever since I was diagnosed and was prescribed with mood stabilizers and anti-depressants. I have been off the anti-depressants because I feel fine and able to get ahold of my moods for now.

this alarmed me because my condition maybe subject for a denial for our upcoming application and I am deeply troubled my it. I tried searching for answers in the internet, but they dont divulge into specifics about it.

I also thought about not mentioning my condition during the medical exam but i dont know if thats the right thing to do. I also dont have any episodes of self harm, suicide risks or any criminal records.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
