You're in the clear. As long as you married within those 90 days it won't affect your eligibility to adjust status. Keep in mind however that between March 13 and the moment USCIS receives your AOS packet you're not in a legal status and can be removed by immigration authorities if you bump into them.

Sending the packet without all the required documents risks that you're denied outright (they don't have to give you the chance to add to the packet or correct it) so I wouldn't do that either if I were you.

In short I'd advise to wait until you've got the letters saying you don't have a credit reports with the credit agencies and then send everything in ASAP.

    Thank you very much

The only requirement is that you marry within the 90 days.  The I-485 does not technically have to be sent off within that 90 days, although it is recommended so that you are in a period of authorized stay.

Keep in mind that the time required to obtain a certified copy of the marriage certificate really varies by jurisdiction - anywhere from same day to weeks.  You might want to research this for your particular

so it is ok to be out of status over getting the right paperwork to send with the AOS?"

  3. Hello everyone,

I have some questions, my situation is this: I came to United States in a k1 Visa on december 15, we got married on january 21, we are trying to send the paperwork for the Adjusment of status, but we don't have a paper that prof that I have never had credit in united states (we need it for the new form I-944 "Declaration of self-suffiency");  my I-94 "Travel records" says that I can stay until march 13, do we need to send the adjusment of status paper before march 13?

    What is better:

    1) Send the paperwork without the credit letter before march 13; or

    2) Wait for the letter and send the documents after march 13?

I would appreciate your comments, thank you!

Hello, I hope I can be of help, from what I have read on this website and has gathered so far in my k1 visa journey, the consulate either provides the dates available for interview so you can book ur date or they book your interview for you. It all depends on the country you residing. For k1 visas, after filling the DS 160 visa application online, you wait to get a letter from the embassy of the instructions to follow to book your interview.

    Thank you very much!

  5. Good morning, My fiance sent the form I-129F 2 months ago, and he recceived the NOA1 at his address, but we think that we made a mistake in the alien's address, we only wrote the street, number, colony, zip code, city and country (I live in Mexico City). We have some questions: 1. Do you think that we are going to have a problem receiving the NOA2? 2. Where are we going to receive the NOA2, in the petitionner or beneficiary address? 3. Are they going to mail something to the beneficiary's address?
