Well I've already uploaded both the transcript and the tax returns. I guess I'll just pretend I never saw this problem? Probably a glitch/bug in their system. Congrats to your son! What questions did they ask him as my Visa category is also child of LPR?

If you already have your interview letter, yes, don't worry. If the embassy needs anything else before the interview, they'll request it. In our case, we hadn't uploaded the police clearance paper (we were planning to bring it to the interview) and about a week before the interview they sent an email asking us to upload that (they said something along the lines of "there's no longer a 'package' you have to take with you to the port of entry - everything has to be uploaded to the ceac website so the officer at the port of entry can access it there."

The only question they asked him was how I had become a LPR. He said that my other son (who is a US citizen) had file a petition for me a few years ago. That was it!

    Good luck to you guys!

Hey I have that problem too. How did it go? Did you just ignore it like the other use told you to?

Hi! I uploaded the tax transcripts (which I hadn't done originally because I didn't have them - I had only uploaded the tax returns), and that was it! My son went to the interview, got the visa approved and we're back in the US waiting for the greencard to arrive in the mail.

I checked the CEAC site out of curiosity a couple of days ago and it still shows as "incomplete" under my documents.

Ignore it, that's what we did. Let Embassy handle it now because NVC won't be looking at it anyway if you are already documentarily qualified.

We received documentarily qualified from NVC. 2 days later another agents logs in and asks for another document. We call NVC and NVC confirms all are fine. Interview and visa is then granted without embassy asking for that document again.

It's funny because we're not just DQ, we already have an interview date and time. I couldn't believe it when I saw it.
I double checked on the other site (where I had to confirm the interview appointment) and all is okay (appointment is still showing as confirmed).

I was going to upload the tax transcripts now and send an email (I didn't have them initially when I uploaded my taxes), but I then I doubted myself. Either way, my son will be bringing my tax returns to the interview.

I'm still a bit concerned, I can't help it. Everything was ok!

  4. I'm a LPR filing a petition for my unmarried, under 21 child.

All documents had been accepted and we'd been waiting for the interview letter. About a week and a half ago, we received the interview letter and we were able to confirm our appointment with the US embassy website.

Today, I went on CEAC website to go over the paperwork to make sure I have everything printed out and ready to go (the interview is at the end of the month). Under Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence for me, it shows as "incomplete" (it used to say "accepted").

I had submitted the I-864 along with my taxes. My income comes from our family business. I also submitted the FORM I-864A CONTRACT BETWEEN SPONSOR AND HOUSEHOLD MEMBER for my husband, since he's the joint sponsor. All the documents for my husband still show as "accepted."

For me, though, they're now requesting the FORM I-864EZ AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT and the FORM W-2 WAGE AND TAX STATEMENT. I don't receive a W2. And from what I read, I wouldn't qualify to fill out the 1-864EZ (which is why I originally filled out the I-864...which was accepted).

I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is a little bit confusing. So your son was an Italian national when he entered the US in 2004. Was he also an Argentinian national at the time? Is he still considered an Italian national?

Correct. He was born in Argentina and lived there until moving to the US at age 5. Got his Italian citizenship at age 4 - entered US as Italian national (with his Italian Passport and visa waiver).

In my experience you don’t pay both fees at the same time. The NVC is in charge of opening up the payment link and it comes after the previous step has been reviewed. It can be slow for no good reason.

Electronic filed cases don’t select an agent now as all communication is done via email.

Keep asking questions .. we all need to !!

To update everyone on this, this was the issue:

Since my son had turned 21 shortly after the State department received our case from USCIS, he was under an F24 visa class.
We sent an ASKNVC email and explained that he qualified for CSPA. They initially said they needed all paperwork in order to review it. I sent a new ASKNVC explaining we couldn't fill out anything because there wasn't a visa available for F24. They replied saying that yes, he apparently qualified. Visa fee was opened. And 3-4 days after paying it, we're now able to fill out the visa application.

  7. Hi everyone -

I-130 was approved a few months ago and now we're finally able to fill out the DS-260. I have a couple of questions...here is some initial info:

My son is currently under DACA (has been since he was 16 so he hasn't accrued unlawful presence).

Son entered the US with Italian passport (visa waiver) back in 2004. He's originally from Argentina and the interview will be in Argentina.

He's been living in the US since 2004.

When filling out the visa, on the 2nd section under "personal" it asks for nationality and passport information. Should we use "Argentina" as well as his Argentinian passport info? (even though that wasn't what he used when he entered the US). The following question is "do you hold nationality other than the one you have indicated above?"

As far as present address...should we use our US address? We don't have an address in Argentina since we don't live there.

    Thanks for your help!

Great! Thank you for the info!

I've gone through it a million times...but certain things don't match with my experience, which is why I'm asking here.

I couldn't choose an agent (which is the 1st step there)

I can't pay the IV fee (many are able to pay both the IV and the affidavit of support at the same time).

This is going back 5+ years for me, but I distinctly remember paying the affidavit of support fee and then having to wait to pay the VI application fee. And yes, it was grayed out during this wait. Seems to me it took 2 or 3 weeks before the application fee was un-grayed and we were able to pay the fee online. Good luck.

Thank you. I'm worried because it's already been a month and a half.

CEAC is also not showing a "principal applicant," and I'm not able to add my son as the principal applicant either (I can only add a derivative applicant). I'm guessing this is normal because they got his information from USCIS (?)

  11. First - thank you everyone on this forum for all the help throughout years! I've never posted, but I've lurked for years.

    Now, my issue:

I'm a LPR filling for my single son under 21. After 2 years, USCIS approved the I-130 and sent it to the NVC. We couldn't choose an agent, the only option was to pay the affidavit of support fee. We did. After paying the fee (and waiting a couple of weeks) I was able to submit all the financial documents. That was done on June 10. It's been about a month and a half.

I'm not able to pay the VI application fee (it's grayed out). Is this normal? I tried calling and they told me I have to keep waiting...but I wanted to double check with people here.

    Thanks!
