  1. AOS approved yesterday in NYC :dance::dance:

We had our interview scheduled at 1:45 pm. we got there around 1 and we got in a few minutes earlier, and the interview was less than 10 minutes. We got sworn in, we were interviewed by 2 guys, for some reason ( my husband thinks one was a trainee) .The first questions were if any of us was married before or had any kids. They asked us for the marriage certificate and my hubby's birth certificate, I offered mine to, although I only had the notarized copy and they said I needed the original. They asked for pics first of all. they really liked our album, I out there pics in chronological order since we started dating until our honeymoon. They started to pull pics out and staple them in their file. Then they asked how we met, asked my husband what was i doing at the time, if i went to school here, asked me if he went to school. Asked us where we traveled since we met , I offered to show them travel receipts but they said it's ok.I was asked all the "no" questions and then our phone no and adress. it was very relaxed and I felt confortable to make some jokes and then they handed me the piece of paper that says I am a conditional rtesident and that i have to remove the condition. and then they stamped my passport and I was good to go. It was an awesome experience , we were prepared for much worse, we had a case full of evidence, they didn't looka at anything.

That was our story, hope everyone else has an easy interview.

  2. Hello, I am getting ready for my interview next week in NYC and I was thinking of having third party affidavits signed by our friends.

    1) Does anyone have an example of how it should look like?

    2) does it have to be notarized?

    3) Anybody here on VJ who used them or anyone who was asked of them at the interview?

Thanks in advance! Good luck to everybody

  3. HI all! Anybody else got their Interview appointment? I got mine last week but on the USCIS website my case is still "received and pending" I wonder why they don't update the info. Also I'm still waiting on my EAD, probably I won't even get it before my interview next month. I am a little worried that I didn't hear of anybody from August fillers having the interview appointment, I don't know if it's a bad sign for me. Good luck to all!

I would take it only as a good sign.

    Is your timeline correct?

Did you file I-130 a month after I-485?

Hope so, no I filed I-130 tigether with I-485. I sent the I-765 a month later because it was rejected at first.

  5. We got a rejection notice today for the I-765 EAD I sent in. They said the form I used was outdated. I read posts from others that had the same problem. I downloaded the newer form. Now, my question is on question 11 "Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS?". Is the answer now YES?

No, the answer is NO. Because your I-765 was REJECTED not DECLINED or APPROVED. It is like they just sent it back to you to correct a mistake without considering it.

Thank you, that's what I thought and what I did.

That does make sense to me too, I think that's what I'm gonna do too. someone on a different topic keeps telling me the answer is "yes" but I don't see it. did you send the pics and passport copies again? or just the Noa for I-485 and NOA for the rejected I-765? good luck with everything

  6. ok.thanks, so I guess I'll say that I applied before . what documents should I send with the new I-765? the NOA for the I-485 and the rejection notice for the old I-765 as a proof that I applied before? did anybody go through this yet? pls answer, I would prefer someone who did it already to answer.

Send in everything you sent in last time, plus a copy of your previous rejection letter, and a copy of your NOA1 for the I-485.

Thank you so much. I was hoping I don't have to submit the photos and passport copies again, because they have them, but I guess that's what it takes.

  7. hi. I have posted about this matter before but I still didn't get an answer. I have to refile the newest version on I-765 and I don't know what to answer on question 11. if I ever applied before???? and also what other documents I need to submit with the form? I was hoping that someone who went through this already would give me an answer  Good luck to everyone!

  9. hi, I saw the other topics people started about the outdated version of I-765, but still I didn't get the answers that I needed. If there is anyone who got a rejection notice and resend it successfully your advice would be highly appreciated.

1)Question 11. Have you evere applied for EAD before? what's the right answer? I was thinking NO but who knows.

2)Besides NOA for I-485 as a proof of payment what other documents do you submit? any photos or ID proof that I submitted originally?

PLEASE PLEASE who knows answer, it's important

File it on-line then you know it is the correct form. you can find the e-file link at the USCIS website. save on mailing costs too.

i tried but i have to pay the fee right? maybe i'm not doing it right, I'll try again

  11. hey people! so I got the NOA for I-130 and I-485 on August 12, but my I-765 was rejected ( outdated version ). On the 14-th I got my Bio appointment set for September 5-th. It's all good I guess, I just have to resubmit the I-765 form. did anybody got theirs rejected and had to resend it? maybe someone has an advice on what do I need to add in the envelope other than the form and copy after the NOA? good luck to all

  12. hello everybody. I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. I don't have a middle name so I don't know what to put in my "middle name" box in the papers. Should I put NONE or N/A or just leave it blank? thanks to anyone who has time or knows how to answer. :)

How come u dont have a middle name? if you dont have, just put N/A or none. do not leave it blank coz that would be questionable by USCIS if u leave it blank.

    Absolutely Wrong!

Do not put anything in that field - either draw a line through it or leave it blank - otherwise they will give you 'None' or 'NA' as a middle name.

By the way many cultures its normal to not have a middle name (like in India), so you can add one when you get married if you want to. I don't have a middle name and always left the field blank, I have seen a greencard with a middlename of 'None' issued erroneously . Good Luck

k, thanks I think I'm just gonna leave it blank, I did that in my medical forms and now they're sealed and can't change it anymore anyways. thanks again
