Just wondering anyone here have the simailar situation like me, may be we can share the feeling~

I filled my AOS, EAD N AP on Nov 23, 07. Got the NOA on Dec 4, 07 N the Bio. App. on Dec 15, 07. Then i got the RFE of AOS. I sent it back N check the on-line state, they got it on Jan 28, 08. I got the AOS interview letter today N they schedule us on Apr 3, 08. But i don't get my EAD N AP yet!

Feel so bad just sitting here... Miss my family in HK... Can't get driving lisence, SSN...

we had similar situation, because of RFE we got our EAD late, it took almost 4 months to get EAD. you can try to go to SSA office and ask for a letter, so you can apply for your license, my husband did this and got his license. Good luck.

I used to be work here then i got a SSN but i don't have the card. How can i do that? Is it tell them i want a letter to get the license ... Would u mind tell me more about the details? Thx! U know it'll be great i can get my license test first....

take your immigration documents to your ssa office and they can let you know the next step. also go to your BMV website to see what documents required for driver license. In my husband's case we went to ssa office and they saw his passport and issued him a letter that at this time he is inelligble to acquire ssc. we took that, his passport, our marriage certificate and i signed an affadavit for his residence and then he got his license. Today was our interview for AOS, and we are approved, I am so happy, the interview was only for 10 minutes, he didn't even looked or asked about any documents. got 551 stamp for 2 months but the guy told my husband that he should recieve his card in 3 weeks. yahoooooooooooo good luck every boyd. no more paper work for atleast two years.

Hi Guys,

I called DOS today and they told me that the UK embassy is going to contact me to send in my passport so they can issue the visa. They said my AP was cleared on Dec 6. Thanks to Allah!!! We are so happy. Our AP lasted 26 days but it's all over and now we are just waiting for the embassy. I hope that doesn't take too long! Thanks everyone for your support!!

Hi VJ'ers wanted to share my wife's interview experience in ISB this morning. By the grace of God she was approved and will receive her passport in 7 - 10 days - they handed her a pink token number with the address for AMEX.

Interview was at 8 am. Took her an hour to get past the security etc.

They took her fingerprints

The following questions were asked:

1. How long you have been married for?

2. What does your husband do?

3. Have you been outside Pakistan

4. Ever been to the U.S

He checked the tax returns, affadavit of support.

Asked for the photos but when she put two albums in front of him, he said it was ok.

At the end, he said, welcome to the US, you will receive your passport in 7 -10 days and gave her a pink token with some numbers on it.

Our orignial I-130 interview date was in april, and K3 in January - upon requesting (after emails and letters) they gave us an earlier interview date for K3 in decemeber and stated that they would process IR1/CRI the same day.

Wish all of you have your cases adjudicated asap and get reunited with your loved ones.

Finally recieve our biometric appointment for 12-12-07 let see how long after that to get EAD and Green Card.

Jaxguy congrats on getting the newer interview date. I wish all of you the best of luck on and Fasal nothing has changed with the AR/AP out of Islamabad.

A gentleman that we know from our area who does not frequent VJ petioned for his brothers to come over and they have been in processing since 1999, all of them were on AP min of 4 months, he contacted me this weekend to inform me that I was correct in how long it would take for their processing. Everyone just has to have faith and hang in there and pray for patience and ask for earlier interviews if you can get one.

I know the ladies are more likely to get theirs moved up than the men (I tried to no avail as well as others on here). I sometimes wonder if it is we are Gori and they make us wait longer to see if the relationship will endure the separation.

Surgery update: My son was in surgery from 11:30 a.m. Friday until 4:30 p.m. and we had very bad news. The prior surgery did not take since his head was full of scar tissue and it was the worst infection that the doctor ever saw he informed me. The infection had eaten away more bone and they had to shave it down further so he is in alot of pain yet as of today. They did more bone grafts, donor tissue and rebuilt the ear drum, reinstalled the titanium inplant, etc. We are uncertain if he will have any hearing restored and will have to go back in two to three weeks for stitches to be removed. I will still have to limit my time on VJ and do come and read and check my pms but do not hang around to post like prior.

I will still continue to come and root all of you on and pray that you are all reunited soon with your loved ones.

According to my information u r missing two forms that u had to send when u get your 3.5 packet and that is the only packet u gonna get from TCS and they charge you 200 rupees for the packet saying that this is embassy charged u. I think u had to fill one 157 and 156 form i think they are DS forms 157 & 156 and one form parents information sheet that u can get from the american express hopefully this will help u

Thanks for your help! But I think the forms you are talking about are only for K1 and K3 Visa and Not for IR1/CR1. The parents' form, I think, she will fill out on the day of interview.

The best way to change your wife's address is you have to write a letter including all the potential information and sign and date it and then you can scan and send it via email. That's how I had to do it in my case. they won't just except an email they need your signature.

My husband went for his fingerprints and gave his passport today. They said MUBARAK to him and he will get his passport back in 1 week with visa. YEAH!

A helpful information I want to share with everyone. I am so happy I found out about this. Pakistani Consulates in USA also issue birth certificate for immigration purpose for Pakistani nations and if you want urgent all you pay is $10 dollars and you get your birth ceritificate in 3 days Ya hoooooooooooooooooooooooo so happy. Hope this help anyone else in my situation

We provided uscis with affadavit signed by his parents and that 's what his visa was issued on. NOw all of the sudden this restriction. Don't know what to do? it will take months for us to get his birth ceriticate from union counsel in Pakistan and this will delay the process further. anyone helP????

it took 1 minute from me to get my date of birth certificate from union counsel , u know why coz my cousin make those certs all i did is to call him and he came to home along with my date of birth certificate:D

listen brother , u need to get it , dont waste time there , in union council give them 200 to 300 rupees and dont tell them u need it for usa visa , make some other excuse for them if u tell them the truth they will charge u in thousands and uscis does need it so u better get it brother

Yes this is new and you have to resubmit the forms. They have been revised since you filled them out the year before. PAIN07 CR-1/IR-1 contacted me a few months back since they were asking for this and told me the forms had been revised. I informed him to resubmit them and it asked for more specific facts and to make sure that he addressed all the questions. Sure enough after some time his visa was ajudicated and I updated the list for the forums. Please do what they ask and inshallah you will have your visa shortly.

When I called DOS this morning to see if the embassy has sent me the request yet, the visa officer told me that she only sees a comment on my file that the Islamabad might ask me for another DS-230 but it doesn't mean I will get one for sure. You never know, every time you call, you get a new response. Best wishes for you as well.

you should contact islamabad emb. and check with them.

Allright, so i had my biometrics appointment today in metarie, new orleans.....

The appointment was for 11 am, we were there at 10.40 am and could have been done faster if i dident have to go to the bathroom, but we were litteraly sitting in my car at 11.03 so about 20 mins to do a bio isent bad :-) very friendly people there except for one of the lady securityguards, she was mean hehe.

Anyway cant wait to get my ead, hopefully we wont get any rfe´s

For me it just took four days to receive visa from the issuance date hope your wife soon get visa. My advance CONGRATULATIONS to you both and a happy reunion.

I went to driving licence office yesterday and was told as my passport had ninety days entry so until your passport dont show u can stay in usa for one year i am not eligible for the driving test. I am in a state of tennessee and without a driving licence its difficult to get a job. So what can be done to show them i can stay in usa for year because to get green card possibily will take time, so need your precious consents.

Did you file for AOS, if you got recipt, you can show that, I think this will work. Do you have international license, you can drive for a year on that as well, and then apply for Driver License once you get GC.

I called DOS today and they said that as of today Islamabad Embassy as issued the visa, I called twice just to confirm and got the same reply.

I will hold off on celbrating just yet until my wife gets her visa in hand.

Anybody know approx how long it takes after this that my wife get the physical visa?

My husband got a call from the embassy yesterday, they said they isued him a visa, all they need is New police certificate becuz his old one expired... all he has to do is submit hi certificate and come pick up his passport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Brother i can understand what u going through because i too had faced this experience and i want to tell u an interesting thing that my case was approved i mean i got my NOA2 after 189 days and visa was issued to me after my interview also after 189 days so u can imagine how much i had to wait. I told u before khurram that in my case when my name check was done and it took me exactly two months to get the visa before that whatever u may ask either from embassy or from dos u get the same answer your case is in process. I pray that wife gets her visa soon.

I want to ask u that u mention ur husband got permit what kind of permit he got for driving i went to the driving licence office and ask them that i want to apply for the written test for driving but she said u cant i dont know why now i got my social security card cant i give the written test and moreover i bring the international licence permti with me and they told me i can drive on that so please help me out regarding getting the driving licence

My husband got the Learner's permit, but in your case since you already have international learner's permit, once you are comfortable you can apply for License directly, for that you only have to pass the road test. One more suggestion go to the website and review the requirement, because each state has their own laws. Good Luck!
