  1. Here is the result. She passed. This was her second interview. The First interview was in Newark, NJ. The interview was easier than we thought. The reason was back in april 12 2011, she failed the English portion only because the IO was talking too fast she did not understand and she did not ask the IO to slow down. This time she did ask the officer to slow down a few time and she understood and was able to answer basic question like those questions below. I believe this is how they test her English comprehension.

The appointment was for 8:00AM but we arrived at the office at about 7:15 sharp. The guard let everyone in at about 7:30 sharp . We stayed at a hotel the night before at a hotel a couple blocks over because we were afraid of getting to the interview late. She was called in around 8:08 and came out about 8:25. That was the longest 15 or minutes or so waiting for her to come out . The IO was very nice and she spoke slowly to my wife during the entire interview.

She already passed the Civic from the April 12 interview.

    1. What is your address?

    2. What is your height?

    3. What are sons name and DOB?

    4. Are your sons American citizens?

    5. Have you leave the United States for more than six months?

    6. What is your husband ‘s name?

    7. Is he a US citizen?

    8. Does your spouse lives with you?

The Yes/No questions was about 6 or 7 questions.

She brought with her usc certificate, usc passport, transcripts, leases, rent receipts, closing doc, home deed, and insurance cards. And IO officer did not ask for any of these except the green card, and photo ID .

  2. Ok. I have hopefully one of the last few questions. This is about the Court Certified Documents about arrest and conviction and other things. Do we send the Court Certified document with the application or we just send the copies with the application and provide the Certified Document at the interview? When we sent the application, we did not have the required documents. We have the required documents now. I am wondering now that I have the Application Number if I should send the papers now or just send them the copies and provide the certified copies at the interview. What is the most preferable at this stage?

Just bring with your the required original documents you did not sent in. Take a look at the link below and look for Journey05.

    That was my previous username.

  3. Is that a question you were asked?

Not really. my wife answered / put on her n-400 as No by mistake. Now she has to either says yes during the interview or confirms no and provide a reason.

any suggestion or just change the answer to yes at the interview.

  4. Good luck and hopefully you will be able to do the oath ceremony the same day.... they did that in Seattle, so hopefully you'll be lucky too!!!!

Good luck to you..but better be prepare for the worse and study day and night. Please take a took at my timeline(my wife). You'll see what it's like.

  5. My wife, who is applying for naturalization as spouse of a US Citizen is being requested to bring "proof of marital union" I'm a bit confused by this since a couple of lines above she's asked to bring our marriage certificate....shouldn't this be proof...obviously it isn't so what is the evidence of "marital union"?

Likewise what constitutes "proof of residence"?

    thanks

excellence question. by the way, I am looking for the same evidences as you for my wife.

I put together evidences such as tax transcripts for the last three yearrs, apartment leases(both), rent paid receipts, home closing papers, cars insurance card showing both our names. We had no joint bank statements.

  6. Anna,

Good luck to you. I don't think it will be a problem. but i know they will be distracting oth the people because the 3- years old will be running around.(at least for my son). also, the 9 months may be crying or doing other things.

but for the interview, I suggest have some adult taking care of your two kids. Otherwise, you will so nervous and distracting trying to ace the interview.

My wife and I will bring two kids(3.5 & 5 yearsol") to the her interview in two weeks but I will hold them until she finishes the interview somewhere outside of the waiting area.

  7. No-Ten,

Thanks God and Congratulation. It's over for you. Imagine how my wife will feel when she will be interviewd on 7 November. She must be freaking out right now..just studying alone.

just curious. why did they ask for the bills/statement? what base were you filing for 3-year married to USC or 5-years residency?

  8. I don't remember being asked anything out of the ordinary. Mostly confirming details I put on the n-400 form (the yes/no questions, my occupation, my wife's occupation, birth dates). Of course, I was also asked the test questions, but otherwise nothing else that I can recall.

Thanks for the information. Some people have interviews that is much harder than what u described here.

  9. Has anyone done it before? I don't think so, but i will still try! lol

I'm talking about the Naturalization interview.

I believe you can do this at the Baltimore Office where you can take the civic test at the sametime you do the fingerprinting. but you will have to come back for the rest of the interview(n-400).

By the way, My wife will have the interview at the Baltimore MD office in 3 weeks time.
