  1. I find it sad that when someone new posts for help, you get very little response because you are not in the "click" yet. But if you try to come up with some conversation other than bitching about the whole immigration process, you get all kinds of responses, mostly negative. Why do people jump on the bad stuff? I guess that is our frustrations coming out else where.

So, I will delete my profile, and just go back to reading and keep my mouth shut. I certainly don't need this sort of stuff, I have enough on my plate.

Lighten up people, stop getting so offended just because we don't all share the same opinions. The world is full of differences.

  2. Amazing how popular this topic is! I was just in Alexandria/Cairo a few weeks ago, and I asked my hubby about that. He told me all the younger, unmarried girls are dressing that way to try and attract a husband. Seems like it is about 3 to 1 over there. And if you get divorced, forget it, you won't get another chance, you are like damaged goods. So I think the competition is high, so maybe that is why. And we all know men are visual creatures by nature. They don't give a hoot about how nice, smart, funny you are etc.....Generally anyways, not all men, but most. And I did take note: And it seemed the married ones were more true to form, loose clothing, hijab, no make up.

Also, I DID wear a Hijab and overcoat while I was there. I am a Christian, but I have red hair and freckles and I got SO tired of being stared at, it was unbelievable. I felt like the afternoon lunch menu!!! It was very uncomfortable to wear being as it was getting warm, I just don't know how they do it. I can't stand long sleeves, never have! So for me, it was pure torture!

  3. Well, thank you to the lovely folks who answered! Yes, I had a feeling I was right. You wouldn't believe how much they fib!!! Here is my story after an IN PERSON visit today:

Feb 12th transferred to LA (first, last and ONLY email I have ever received)

Visited LA office on March 31, they tell me not there, in Santa Ana, and not transferred until March 23rd

So today, now they tell me it just arrived in Santa Ana on May 8th, but has not been scanned in yet? (Whatever that means). But she did show it to me in their system. I just don't understand why that isn't reflected in my case. Mine still says last updated Feb 12th????

Bottom line - It sat at Laguna Niguel until a Congressman's office contacted them. The office called me the 8th of May to tell me it was in Santa Ana, same day they now have a record of it.

So my suspicions were right, it was just sitting somewhere being ignored. NOW, I am waiting to see if in the next few weeks I get any email notices. If not, I will go in again.

I know the phrase "going postal", so how about one "going immigrational"??? [/size]

  4. Hi All,

Question for those who had any kind of transfers.

Did you have a "touch" when they transferred and a "touch" when the new location received it? I am worried because I only got one, 3 fricking months ago.

Congressmans office "supposedly" contacted them and she sent me a letter saying they will contact me within 90 days. From what I see, a transfer with no touches in 90 days makes me think it is lost and the Congressman's office was just looking to buy time because I was harassing them.

Anyways, I can't stand it any more, so I am going IN PERSON tomorrow to inquire. If you need RFE, tell me, if you want an interview, tell me!!!

  5. Today I received an Email saying that my I129f wich was on the National Benefit Center, was transfer to Vermont, Is this good or bad? On Vermont is where they have my I130 since 06/26/06. :( I129f transfer from national benefit center to vermont

On 06/26/06 I sent my I130 to Vermont and received NOA1 on 06/30/06, after that I haven't received anything else, I'm always calling USCIS office and they just tell me to wait 3 more months and it been 9 1/2 months already, why is this taking so long. My husband live in Dominican Republic and my biggest problem is that in my country the embassy is so slow it takes them about 2 years just to give you an interview. That means that I have to wait around 2 1/2 to bring my husband to US.

    Hello!

If you want to still pursue the I-130 to see where it is at, use these shortcuts below. I learned real quick on this site. If you find your local congressman, go to his website and fill out the form for help with immigration and fax it to them. They will contact immigration for you and get an answer. The best part is they will actually look for the file, not give you the run a round if you try to go in yourself. When Congressmen or Senators get involved, things seem to happen. They are still looking for mine, but at least they are LOOKING!! Good idea that you sent the other one in. Kind of like gives you another chance, I wish I had done that too. I still may.....but waiting it out a little longer!

Hope I copied and pasted these right!

  6. Hello, I have no idea what or why my case happened so quickly.

Im sorry but some people cant reply so quickly, i dont have internet for another 6 days ...so its difficult responding....and I am extremely busy right now.

I dont have any answers..but i will try to explain....when I said..."bag of magic"...i was trying to stay positive and for some reason...my case progressed much further or faster than others.....

(I cant call or email tokyo to find out, no credit card...so i am just waiting to find out whats next.)

I hear the online status is not always accurate...My online status...never said I was approved but changed to interview...why i dont know....but here are my ideas...

It might have been because I had notarized wedding certs for the Osaka consulate, it might have been because I wrote on my cover letter that if possible I wanted my case transfered to Tokyo if DCF was available because I have lived in Japan for over 5 years. So, maybe they did this for me...

If you look at my I-129F..my status is still the same as of today....so for some reason....i got lucky with my i-130....maybe the checks went through quickly....maybe its a mistake...but all i know is i received a letter my petition for I-130 was approved and for IR-1...and it would be sent to tokyo..so thats all I know....and im sorry i could respond any faster....i had to hear about this second hand from my wife....

Hello! Sorry for bugging you, I was just getting so darn impatient with all of this!! So your online never said approved, but you got the letter, but the site said interview. Wow, they really are a mess! I haven't gotten any letters, so I guess I won't be as lucky as you are! I did call NVC just for giggles to see if I had a case number, but to no avail! Well anyways, thanks for the info and good luck to you!

  7. Still waiting , called congressman office , informed to fax letter to Congressman office. Faxing letter to Congressman office. Is there anything else I can do?

I did the same thing but they told me USCIS has 30 days to respond, so I am stuck waiting. And she got annoyed when I called 2 weeks in a row! I thought the response would be quicker than that. It is better to wait than start asking someone else to contact them as well.

  8. Need help.

I'm a USC and married with a 2 year old infant. I filed I-130 for spouse. Spouse was arrested by CIS during interview process for I-130. I-130 was approved. Spouse is incarcerated and facing deportation now.

Once deported I will have to file for 212 and 601 to bring spouse back to the US.

My question is how long can this process take and what are our chances of getting approval in this scenario?

    Thank you.

Hello, sorry for your demise! If you are already married, why can't you adjust his status?? Sounds simple, but maybe there is more to the story. The biggest thing most lawyers will tell you is "Don't let them leave!" It is much harder to fight if they are gone, and once they leave, that is when the ban is actually triggered. Get help now, don't let him go! Mine left because he was tired of sitting in immigration detention, a decision he now regrets. Good Luck my dear!

  9. it worked....im approved

k, what *are* you going on about? If you got another notice, one of approval of your petition please say so.

And what is it that you think you did that caused some action?

Others here have been very good about answering *your* questions.

Yes, please a reply would be nice. That is the purpose of this forum is to share, and I need your help desperately as you are the ONLY one I have seen who encountered the same problem as I. Several of us have asked more than once???

  10. The VD could be a contributing factor.

What is that.....I know what it normally means  but what is it now lol????

My husband is on voluntary departure,

    naughty.

I had the same reaction ......scrolled back thinkin where the hell did she mention crotch critters.......but most of all WHY would she bring it up?

Holy Cow! I came back to a sexually transmitted disease!! Actually, that would be easier to cure than our voluntary departure problem, ha ha ha!!

Well, I guess I need to find babybunny and see how it went for her. I certainly don't mind the interview, but I just wish they would hurry up!!

  11. Maybe the Congressmen can do something, My husband had to threaten them with the Senator's office before they actually corrected a mistake they made, it is so madding that these people take our money but can not do the job they are paid to do.

The bit I do not understand is why it is in L.A, it's an I-130 is it not? It should be at the California Service Center, instead they are sending it half way around the country.

Did they say to attend an interview in 2 weeks? If so you will not be here; you will hopefully be with your husband for a few brief weeks.

Talk to the Congressmen again this week and then go see your husband and I know it is easy for me to say but try to enjoy your time with him and forget about USCIS just for the short period of time you are with him.

    Janice

Yup, a simple I-130 mailed to CSC in Laguna Niguel! How difficult is that? And they told me it is in Santa Ana, not LA??? Either way, it is in the wrong place if not plain lost!

Also, it isn't an actual interview appt, LA said just make another info pass appt in 2 weeks to see what is going on. So, I will let the Congressman's office hopefully fix it and expedite it for me. I figured I would give them a tad longer, then on to Boxer or Feinstein's office!

I can already see the road ahead, and it isn't looking fun! So yep, I am just going to enjoy my husband to get some energy to come back and deal with this #######! What a joke!!

    Thanks again Janice, take care!

  12. I think someone goofed somewhere along the line, you have an I-130 in the works so it should be delt with either Vermont or California, next it goes to NVC then to your Embassy in Eygpt. What is going on with these jerks lately can they get nothing right???

Do they think your husband is still in the USA? I do not understand why they would send you a letter requesting you to attend an interview? Did you take the letter with you? Why did you not explain to them that your husband is in Eygpt? You have not given a clear account of what happened when you went to L.A.

Sorry but I would of asked all these questions after driving 2 hours, you seem to me to of come away even more confused then you were in the first place.

    Janice

Thanks for the response Janice! Yes, I did tell them he was in Egypt. And I did show them the letter. They told me that all USCIS branches around my area are termed "Los Angeles". Even though the letter showed 300 Los Angeles St was where it went. How stupid is that? But after she made a call, they said it was actually sent to Santa Ana March 23rd. I told them I didn't understand why it would be sent there since he isn't here and all she would tell me was to wait the 2 weeks and go in again. So I am hoping the Congressman's office can straighten this mess out. I have searched the internet for hours, and have yet to find anyone who had a similiar problem. I was so excited in the beginning because applications seems to really be moving these days, and #######, right off the bat, I hit a wall! So, for now, I guess I am at the mercy of the Congressman's office, since she also acknowledged it was wrong.

I am leaving on the 25th to see my husband, so I HOPE I hear something before then! I am praying!

  13. Hi All, As you see, I am a new one. All the Egypt threads don't offer a lot of encouragement so far, yuck! But I am an eternal optimist, besides being hopelessly in love with my husband! So, from what I can see, what happened to us is very strange. I got a notice saying that Feb 12th, our case was transferred to LA. When they make the interview appt or need additional evidence, they will let me know. So a month later with no touches, I drive 2 hours up there and they look puzzled, asking where my husband is, why I didn't file the I485 form (I think that was it). Then they make some phone calls and tell me it was not really transferred until March 23rd to Santa Ana. Wait 2 weeks, and make another appointment. The date of Feb 12th has never changed? Wouldn't it change if someone had actually gotten our file? My husband is on voluntary departure, and I am almost thinking they goofed and somehow they think he is here. Why would they request and interview here when he is in Egypt? I contacted a Congressman on the 5th, but still no response. I am going nuts wondering what is going on, and I was told by Congressman's office not to waste time going in or calling them because they give wrong info etc....

    Any ideas??
