And I hope you are not relying on photos as your main source of evidence? I’d pay more attention to gathering stronger evidence than worrying about the captions. 

Yes we have more than just photos we're relying on, but I'd like to caption everything so it's explicit as to what it is -  it makes me feel better to caption everything 

Thanks! Really helpful! I was thinking that 3rd person might sound to formal and like we didn't write it but I also didn't want 1st person to sound too informal. Our cover letter is more formal but I think I'll leave the 1st person captions for our proof of relationship then! 

Maybe it's a bit stupid, but putting together the proof of relationship for our CR1 and wondering if it's better to write the captions in first or 3rd person.
