Hi thank you so much for your reply. I know I keep telling myself it’s going to Be okay but im worried about the question about entering the US. My husband came at 13 and I just want him to be okay answering that. Like I don’t know what is right I’m glad you told me about the English part because he was debating on that and wanted to do it in English but then was like what if they will think bad of me for doing it in English. I don’t know we are clearly overthinking but again thank you so much and glad you guys are back! Congrats!

Just be honest however he came in.  Ur words have to match what they have on record.  If u choose ur native language to communicate at the embassy, i heard, they make you do a second interview that day in english.  Good luck and dont worry

How did it go? I’m not sure if you responded already on the thread. My husband and I are still waiting for interview date we think it will be coming soon maybe a letter this month. Still so anxious about the interview though.

Sorry i havent updated.  We just got back this weekend.  Interview was ok.  They asked basic personal info (birthdate, marriage date, etc).  They mostly asked questions about how my husband got into the us illegally.   Asking the same questions in different ways trying to see if there are any lies or fraud in the story.  Interview was only 15-20 min.  U must bring ds 260, 601a approval, and any other forms that u submitted.  Even if they are from ten years ago.  They do like it if u speak to the interviewer in english.  Show that u are adjusting to the us lifestyle. I understand being anxious but there really isnt a reason to be.  Just be straightfoward and honest.  U dont have to pay any fees as the embassy but u do have to pay some fee online before reentering the us.  Our lawyer did that for us.  Good luck!   Keep us posted

Question to all of You guys

Can I inquire myself , looked at that form , nothing complicated there , or should I ask my lawyer , and pony up dough  again ?

Hey.  Our i212 was past the processing time.   We did the form ourselves without the lawyers help.  They responded in 30days by email that they were still working on it.   Then we got our approval a week later

Wow thank you for asking.. who is your lawyer? Mine is in Ridgefield Nj his name is Garo Bakmazian.. He told me that he has done this process more than 40 times in the past and got them all approval.. 😅

Ours is in nyc.  His last name is nicelli.  Our lawyer is great.  Honest and straightforward. I have heard of horror stories about other lawyers with people in the same position as us.

Congrats Elliej, pls let us know once you got ur interview date. Thank you and good luck🙏

Thanks everyone!   I will let u know about our interview date.  Should be soon since the embassy has our paperwork already.  Bariskurt just wanted to let u know that i spoke to our lawyer today and he said there is no way to get a state id or drivers license with the 601a in ny or nj.   Only with a green card.

Elliej, I see that you are from NJ.. do you know anything about getting a drivers license after 601a approved.? cause on that FB groups many state DMv's are accepting DL applications with approved 601a. that would be awesome if we can do it!

Im not sure.  I know ny and nj are a few of the states that havent fully adopted the new federal regulations for licenses.  The smaller countries by the way dont have a very long wait for an interview.  We have already filed all forms for nvc and our paperwork is at the embassy.  We had to reschedule our appt since we havent gotten our 601a yet

Yes , after the approval it takes some quiet time to notify nvc side.. "30-90 days" after that you just wait for your appointment..

By the way, I just saw from FB groups that someone got rfe.. Receipt date Nov 23. And the rfe was about a major ticket that he got pulled over and given a surcharge because of driving with expired license "That was 10 years ago tho" And rfe was stating that he needs to prove that he paid all the necessary fees and make a statement on his behalf why he didn't include this with his original appapplication in the beginning. Wow wow.. 😔 so I'm most likely getting rfe guys cause I had the same situation 4 years ago..

Think positive.  Everyone situation/case is different.

Question for anyone else that got a RFE and later received the approval. Did you got an email, text or just the letter on the mail? I would like to sign up for the email updates because I will be going out of state next week but I am hearing that they are not updating online and just sending the letters. Also I couldn’t find the App that was mentioned here, found different ones...

    Thank you in advance

Good luck!!! I hear the approvals only take 2 weeks  none of the apps worked for me either.   They gave me the same info as uscis.  Keep us posted

Does anyone went to I-130 interview here? Before applying 601a.. ? Cause my I130 is not approved yet but I was able to file 601a with approved 824 "spouse's work related"

We filed the i130 like 10 years ago.  It takes about a year if ur in the us when u do it.  About 6 minths if ur in ur home country.  We didnt have an interview after the i130 because we would automatically get denied because of my husbands asylum case started before our marriage.  Ur lawyer shouldnt allow u to go to any interviews before the waivers are all approved.  With just the i130 approval there is no guarantee.  It seems like that form is just an acknowledgment of marrying a us citizen

Also if this is helpful to anyone my i601a was received on August 10 2018, receipt date on notice August 15 2018, had biometrics appointment in September 2018 and finally on June 27 2019 was approved at the Potomac service center

Thanks for the info.  Its very helpful
