  1. Sorry everyone for taking so long to post this up. My wife went in to interviewed at 1 and she came out with the pink. =)

They only asked her a few questions:

How many times did he came back to visited you?

When was the first time you saw him?

    How did you 2 met?

    Who introduced you guys?

    Did he proposed? How?

Did his parent came back for the wedding?

What is the name of the city he's living in?

Did he told you anything about the city?

Then they asked for evidence. My wife pulled out a few letters that I sent her, some of the phone bills, and some of the letters that she sent me. She was about to pull out more letters then the CO said stop and gave her a pink. She haven't even show them and pictures or any other evidences that we brought that day.

My wife told me the lady at the window where she turned in her documents before the interview pulled out the pink slip and wrote her name down before my wife even got interviewed. Anyways.....good luck to all you June interview. If you have any questions please feel free to message me.

  4. I got my plane ticket yesterday. I paid $1,324.29 for a round-trip from Des Moines International Airport. Hahahahaha, that's funny. Des Moines International Airport. They must have a UPS plane that flies up to Winnepeg or something. I feel very lucky to get that price on 2 weeks notice. That is only $125 more than I paid last January (2007). Not bad, considering the hefty increase in the price of fuel. Have to leave on Monday or Tuesday, though. Any other day is $300 to a whopping $2,100 more expensive.

So I got to playing around with the fare search on Orbitz. It turns out that if I could somehow get a ticket within the next few hours, and leave at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning, I would still pay $1,324.29. But if I left on Wednesday, April 30th, one day after my actual departure date, I would have paid more than double. How do they come up with these pricing schedules? It boggles the mind.

Melrose Plant, are you from Des Moines also? When's your wife's interview?

Indianola. May 9th. Another Iowan (gasp!)?

yes, another Iowan...... my wife's interview gonna be May 15. =) I'm goin back there May 8.

  6. Do we have to show the Consulate how much money we have in our bank account or just our 3 most recent tax forms?

thanks all for helped answering this question.

If your income on those recent tax forms are above the 125% of Poverty Line, then you don't need to show your other assets or bank account. I've a question for you though: Did you use I-864 or I-864EZ when you submit your affidavit of support to NVC?

Anyway, together with your employment letter and pay stubs, your 3 most recent tax documents should be enough to prove that you have adequate means of financial support for your wife.

Good luck at HCMC and please keep us update. You're one of a few Vietnam CR-1 left on VJ.

    I used I-864. I think I-864EZ is for those people that need a co-sign.

  7. Anyone in here doing CR1 for HCM? Maybe we can help each other out. I have a few questions about CR1. NVC sent me a letter telling me that my case was forwarded to HCM on Jan. 31. I called HCM Consulate and asked them to see if they've recieve it yet. They told me they have my case already but haven't recieve the paper-work yet. My question is how long does it takes before they get the paperwork and how long until my wife get an interview letter?

    thanks all for helping

Cuong, congrats on your completion at NVC.

I'm also doing CR-1, but I'm well behind you. I've a question for you, though. While submiting your DS-230 at NVC, did you send only DS-230 Part I with signature and a copy of the biographic passport page? The reason I asked is that HCMC just switches to Appointment Post and probably requires me to send more required documents:

    • Form DS-230 Part I and Part II
    • Birth certificate of the beneficiary
      • Certified copy of birth certificate
      • Photocopy of birth certificate
      • Translation of birth certificate
    • Marriage certificate
      • Original marriage certificate
      • Photocopy of marriage certificate
      • Translation of marriage certificate
    • Police certificate of the beneficiary
      • Original police certificate
      • Photocopy of police certificate
      • Translation of police certificate
    • Photocopy of valid passport biographic data page of the beneficiary
    • Two 2x2 inches passport photographs of the beneficiary
Good luck on your case at cousulate level and I'll be sure to follow your case 'til that pink slip.

    Hey,

Sorry it took me a lil while to answer ur question. When I did my DS-230 I only turned in DS-230 part 1 and the signature with my wife's passport.

  9. hi everyone,

My case was finished a week ago at the NVC. Is there any way that we can track our case after it's finished at the NVC and is there a way that we can check to see when we're gonna have the interview before we receive the interview letter? My case is being forward to HCM, Vietnam right now.

    thank-you.

Cuong, call NVC and ask them when they ship your package to Ho Chi Minh. As you give me a date, I will try to help you out where your package is.

    hey Haonie,

sorry it took me a lil long to respond. I called NVC they said they forwarded my case to HCM on Jan. 31. Can my wife call HCM to find out if our case is there yet?

  11. hi everyone,

Thankyou very much for responding. The thing is I'm almost done with NVC but still haven't heard anything from NOA2. I am now waiting on the DS230. I called NVC they said they already sent DS230. I called USCIS and asked them about my NOA2 and they said my case is still pending. I'm very confuse right now. Thankyou again for the respond.

  12. Hi everyone,

I have few question about NOA2, hopefully someone can help me out. I haven't receive my NOA2 yet, but already been receiving paperworks from the NVC already. Don't I supposed to get NOA2 or Approval letter from USCIS first before getting paperworks from NVC? Do we need to bring NOA2 or Approval letter to the interview?

    THANKYOU IN ADVANCED

  13. can someone help me with this question please......

On Question 23 of the DS230 it tell us to list all educational institutions attended. Do my wife list all the school that she attended? Including Elementary? Middle School? High School?

    22. List below all educational institutions attended.

    Thank-you in advanced

  14. Hi everyone,

I have some questions about my NOA2

    1. I didn't get my NOA2 from the USCIS but NVC sent me the paper work already. Is the NOA2 important? Do I really need it? Should I call the USCIS to get NOA2?

Thank-you in advance for those that help answering all this questions.

  15. Go to this website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_2991.html This website have a lot of answers to your questions.

The first thing you gonna get from the NVC is a $70 dollars processing fee and the directions to what you have to do and then they gonna send your wife a Choice of Agent and Address form to fill out and send it back to them. After that they'll send you the directions to download form I-864 the Affidavit of Support. Fill out and send back to them. Your wife or the Agent that was selected should get packet 3 after you get all those done. GOOD LUCK!

  16. A photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued transcript of a photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued transcript of your complete Federal income tax return for your most recent tax year, or an explanation if it is not submitted. Your W-2s and/or 1099 forms may also be required, see the I-864 instructions for details.

Can someone tell me what is 1099 form is?

Do we need notary on any of this stuff?

How many IRS transcript do we need to send with the I-864 form?

What else do we need to send?

    thank-you in advanced......

  17. That's right! I just recalled that if you file through the NVC (as you have done) the beneficiary only receives a Packet 4 with the interview date. It cuts out the packet 3 step because you've already completed that process with the NVC.

What kind of forms is in packet 3?
