  1. Any other reasons they said it was denied?

No. The letter just says that my husband faild to produce nay evidence of a valid relationship to the petitioner. My husband said that in interview only requested pictures and e-mails. She refused to look at the insurance policys (car and medical in both our names) and phone bills that he took along to the interview.

  2. I was wondering if someone could give me some suggestions on how to resolve this problem. On Oct 19, 2007. My husband had his intervew for a CR1 visa at Lagos, Nigeria. He was give a pink letter stating that our relationship was established for immigration purposes only. I've been calling USCIS and NVC weekly and that have not received our case yet. The embassy of Nigeria stated that they sent the case was sent to NVC on Nov. 20, 2007 with the recommendation that it be revoked. Any suggestions are welcomed.

  4. Hi Follow VJ's,

Well, I just wanted to let everyone know that my husband had is interview on Oct 2. I did have his medical appt. until Oct 5. so that interviewer told him to come back after the medical appt. Yesterday, Oct. 19, my husband went back and we were denied the CR-1 visa because he was unable to show proof of the relationship. My husband bad everything i.e., car insurance policy with both our names, life insurance, phone bills, and emails. The interview told my husband that she did not want to see his proof. I called that Dept. of State and the operator said that my husband was denied due over staying his visa to the US in 2003 but the letter that he got from the embassy states that he failed to show proof. Has anyone ever had this happen?

  5. Tiana,

Thanks for responding to my message. It takes alot off my mind knowing the it isn't a big deal.

Same thing with my husband. The second half of the exam wasn't complete until after his interview. All he had to do is return on any Friday of the month with the results and the interview was concluded.

    Tiana

  6. Thanks for the info. I feel a little better now.

yeah nothing to worry about. When my fiance went for his medical the first time,he was told to come back as the clinic was assiting those that had already had their interview. Should be a breeze as your husband will just go back with the medical information.

    Goodluck on the interview!!!!

  7. Sounds like you're on the right track. Just continue to be supportive and know that God put him in your life for a reason.

    Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow Sept. 16 will be 1 month that my fiance has been in the US. As I don't see a lot of posts about the trials and tribulations after they arrive, I decided to start a thread and be very honest. So, here I go:

I love my fiance with all my heart and I am so glad that he is here! I don't miss ordering calling cards, bad connections, waking up at 1, 2, or 3 a.m. because of the time difference there, and my heart breaking from not receiving daily hugs and kisses. Yet, it has been a major adjustment. I don't know if it is different when the fiance is a woman coming to the US. I think so because for a woman to depend on a man is natural, but I think it hurts a man's pride to be dependent on a woman, especially strong African men. I must say that I have a strong personality, but I am trying my best to adjust and not make him feel like a little kid, but how do you do that when you are responsible for teaching him about his new home. How do you explain clothing, respect issues, and other cultural aspects without coming off as being bossy  ?

I have a job that is demanding. Basically, I take care of people and figure out how to fix/solve situations all day. Then, I come home and I'm responsible for someone else's needs all the way to the food they will consume. I don't like to worry about what I'm going to eat let alone another person :). Yet, I signed up for this journey and I don't regret it. He gets mad at me, I get upset with him, He gets mad at me again and again and again  you get the picture. I know this is par for the course. However, I wish I had a place where I lived where people in this situation got together and shared how they adjusted, but I don't so I'm coming here and hopefully my sharing will help me and someone else.

I thank God that I waited to the ripe old age of 34 to get married because I know what it takes to stand strong through disagreements, hurt feelings, anger, and impatience. We know how to say we are sorry, most of the time, and I just let it go. The bible is our guide and helps to keep us bonded and grounded. I focus on his wonderful qualities like how he comes into the garage when he hears me come home. He opens the car door and tells me "Your Welcome." He carries any bags I have, including my purse. He cleans the house, cuts the grass, and keeps his things nice and neat. He calls me 'Queen.' More importantly, he left everything that he has known to come be with me :crying: . Therefore, I pray for patience, guidance, an attitude adjustment, and the ability to be a good wife!

I wish you all success on your approvals and the continued adjustment to your SO (L) !

  8. Congrats!

My God is good.!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance::dance: My finace got approved at 8.30am (US time), His appointment was by 7am his time but he was not interviewed till the officers got back from their lunch break. Dont have all details but he was asked just two questions, "tell me about ur fiancee", How did u meet" was then asked for some pictures and then welcomed to America!!!!!!!
  9. Has anyone attempted to schedule a medical appointment in Lagos and told that the appointment would be after the interview? My husband said that when he went to the assigned clinic for his physical that the wouldn't be able to complete his physical until Oct 5 and his interview is on Oct. 2.

  10. I know just how you are feeling. My husbands interview is 10/2/07 and I'm going crazy just trying to get things ready for him. But don't worry, it will all be over soon.

Is it just me or am I gone stone cuckoo! I guess this interview stage is really getting to me. I have had recent nights of tossing and turning and crying spasms during television shows. Can you believe that I cried during the television show Good Times and during Little House on the prairie! :crying: Yipes, I never been this before til recently! Here it is close to three weeks til the interview. I am like deadman walking here! :o I just pray everything goes well. Just can't wait til it's over!
  11. That great news!

    hello everyone!

i am writing with good news! as of 30 minutes ago, Nana and I have been APPROVED! i am sooooooooo happy and excited and i feel wonderful. i couldn't sleep the entire night and my heart was beating out of my chest! i had to share with you guys immediately, as everyone on this forum has been so helpful and honest with their own stories. Thanks so much!

so nana got there bright and early, around 6:30am. He waited (not too long according to him). they took his documents, affadavit of support, etc, and told him to wait. afterwards, they eventually called him in for the interview! he said the man who interviewed him asked him a few questions like:

where did you meet your wife?

how is your love life? (nana said that one made him blush!) haha.

after those questions, nana said the interviewer explained to him that there was a lot of fraud involved in many of these cases. nana said he didn't understand at that point why the interviewer was giving him this information. anyway, nana remained calm and the interviewer then said: "however, it is obvious that you and your wife are genuinely in love and that is beautiful! enjoy brooklyn!"

nana was sooooo happy and overjoyed! he was practically in tears when he called me. so he has to pick up his visa next friday the 21st, and he should be here by the next day or the day after! we are looking for tickets now!!! YAY!!!! i am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited and happy that we have made it past this stage....love is an amazing journey...thanks to you all for your endless support and advice!

    peace and love

  12. CONCRATS!

    Hi All:

My husband called me at 11:00 AM my time and 4:00 PM his time and was approved for his visa today and he is scheduled to pick it up on Monday, August 27, 2007 :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

God only knows how excited and happy I am that my baby is finally coming home where he belongs.

Thank you all for the many prayers and well wishes. :)(L)

He stated that he had a very nice lady to interview him and she didn't ask alot of questions. He also stated that she was very impressed with the way the information was arranged in the notebook that I had prepared for him. She looked at our e-mails and pics. And after that she said "Welcome To America"

    The questions were:

    How did we meet?

When were the times I was in Nigeria?

    What were my siblings names?

    Where did I live?

    What was my phone number?

Thanks again for all of you and God Bless!

    LadyLove2006 :)(L)(F)

  13. Congrats. I'm so happy for your. Hopefully my husband will get his interview soon.

 I just got off the phone with my fiance. He made it through part 1 of his journey to the US. He was getting ready to go through immigration at Lagos. At 8:00 p.m. our time, he will be getting on the plane to fly to JFK. I will keep you guys posted on his journey.
  14. The embassy received my info. from NVC in April, but they didn't log it in until a month later. I received an interview date for 3 months later (Aug.1). Then I read that some people have received dates within a month. The whole process is nerve wrecking.
I was just wondering if anyone has been scheduled for an interview for Aug. or Sept. at Lagos yet? I contacted NVC today and they said that they are still scheduling for Aug. Our case has been complete since 3/29/07 and the wait for an interview is driving me crazy!

You filed the I-129-F which is faster then the I-130 for some reason.

I'm actually looking for information about that. Does it normally take so long to get an interview in Lagos with a CR-1 interview? Is it faster to get a K3 interview? how do u find something like that out?

I usually call the NVC 2-3 times per week to find out if they have scheduled our interview. We only applied for the CR-1 (I-130) but I think that it's fast if you apply for I-129 along with with I-130.

At the risk of sounding like a total moron, the NVC schedules the interviews in Lagos?

    yes

  18. Hi all!

I'm going back to Lagos tomorrow to see my husband! It's been a year and 5 months since we've last seen each other and I'm too excited. His interview is on the 16th so I'll be there for that. Keep us lifted up in prayer. I'll keep everyone posted.

    Tiana

    Tiana,

Good luck with your interview. I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated.

  19. Hello everyone. I am in Ghana seeing my fiance and getting ready for his interview on Monday. I had to create a new user name, because I forgot my password for my other name, which is akim oda. I have it saved on my home computer and never thought to memorize it. anyway. he is having the interview on Monday, I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks.

    Good luck with your interview.

  20. My case was complete at the NVC on 3/29/07 and we still don't have an interview yet. Hopefully we will be scheduled soon.

Hi Vj members i was wondering if there`s anyone that has been scheduled by NVC for interview(CR1) in Lagos.I`m not sure if this is new, but Lagos embassy is one of the ones listed as "appiontment" on NVC website meaning documents such as birth cert, marraige cert, copy of passport and police report are submitted to them and then, NVC wld schedule the interview.

Is this new for CR1 for Lagos embassy? and hw long does it take for NVC to schedule interview after case is completed at NVC?
