Thank you, appreciate your help. Will contact NVC.
just wanted to share this since you mentioned you were a NP. I hope you do request to expedite your case, I feel like it would be granted

My case was actually approved already as 4/29/2020 but the US embassy is closed and even with the need for medical workers ( I am an NP). I am waiting for instruction from the embassy.
I think if you are just waiting on the consulate you can request to expedite it through NVC. (That is the info I received in a previous post). NVC does not have as many restrictions and requirements for expedite requests.

I received an email notification on April 27, 2020 my request to expedite the 601 waiver was granted and my case would be forwarded to an officer. I’m waiting to see if the application is approved. Once approved what would be the next steps? Has anyone gone through this during COVID shutdown of the consulate

How can I join the 601 support group?
My background
Lived for 22 years in the US , married to a US citizen, came to US on C1/D visa. went back to US Embassy in Manila for an approved 601A waiver but denied during my interview on July 2019. My lawyer filed for 601 waiver, extreme hardship due to my husband age and health status. He is 78 years old. I am a professional in medical field and have built my career in the US over the past 22 years. I am devastated but I feel for my husband. His health is now being aggravated by our separation. Any other tips that other folks have done to expedite their cases will be helpful. Thank you .
You can call USCIS and request to expedite your case. I applied for an expedite because I am a registered nurse in Michigan (living in Mexico due to denial at interview and requiring a 601 waiver) and the need for medical workers would qualify you for a government entity requiring your specific skill sets.

After your interview they will give you a blue slip with the waivers you will need to qualify for the visa.
File the 601 waiver by mail, I would recommend your mailing address (obviously not physical address) be that of your parents in the US. After 3 weeks you should receive a receipt number.

I requested an expedite on 4/22/20 for my I-601 application, on 4/27/20 it was approved to expedite. The actual application has yet to change status to approved online. How long did it take to hear anything after your approval?
