they've received our green cards two days ago, but haven't gotten their social security cards yet...on what day did you receive your social security card? it's been a month by tomorrow since they came there. I think I might pay the local office a visit.

i called!!! and well in resume what they told me is to wait!!!! new process for the green card my friend!!!

yes the letter say that the fee is in suspense!!! i had my interview on Feb 7 my husband pay the fee on Feb 8 i got to the states on Feb 9!!! i did check the online status! it say initial review and it say that "they will let us know with a written notice as soon as a decision is made with regard to the fee acceptance and processing of your case"

Did you call USCIS up? What is your plan of action?...I don't know what to do at this point except to wait for a couple more weeks and keep checking the online status. I hope this is only a standard process to verify your payment as this is a new policy that went into effect after feb 1, 2013..please let me know if you have any update. I ll do the same thing..

Did you also get the same exact letter where it says " fee in suspense"?...you paid the new 165 fee through a website?...did you check the online status using the 797receipt number on the uscis.gov website?...I want to know what your status online...on our it says that our in-laws applied for a fee waiver and it has been under review which doesnt' make any senses. if they applied for waiver..they wouldn't asked to pay the fee as a requirement before they came here....

Anybody familiar with the new fee 165 dollars os155a green cars policy. I have paid the fees before they came here. 2 weeks after they came here. I received a 797 notice stated that " fee in suspense" about their cases. How long does it take for them to verify that they actually get the payment and continue processing the green card application. I went online to check the status using the receipt number. It says that they have requested a waiver for the fee. Which they never did. Was that is a mistake ? Anybody recently gotten his or her green card with this new 165 fee? Please share the same experience. I called the 1800 number of uscis and was told that I need to send proof of payment to the processing center to continue the process. How did they miss the payment if it's already clear from my checking acct long time ago.

Now that my in-laws are here safely under IR5, just wondering when they will receive their green cards and social security cards? I have paid the new 165 fees for both of them before they came here and they have been here for about 10 days. I don't know how long it usually takes for their green cards to arrive. Is there a way to track the process with their nvc case # or to call? I know it probably takes a few weeks. I will greatly appreciate it if anybody can share some experiences or advices.

My daughter lives in the UK. Brought up there by ex-wife. She is a UK citizen and unmarried. Missed the under 21 rule as we have only recently re-established relationship. I am a US Citizen since 2003 (Naturalized). She wants to move to the US. Submitted I-130 form on January 4th and received an I-797C with priority date of January 8th saying that it was in process. I also received a text with a WAC number (assume California processing center...). I called hotline but received vague information.

How long it will take for this application to go to (a) next step, and (b) to get a a green card issued? Super vague system. I am concerned that maybe I missed filing some other paperwork to???

Since your daughter is over 21. It will take a few years for her to get the immigrant visa. There's a waiting period for that category. Not sure how long. But it's not within a year or so. Someone from uk with a similar experience will be able to tell you. Good luck.

Does it really take 21 years for a citizen father to petition a married son to u.s? Thought it will be shorter than 21 years. Not sure about the waiting time in phillipine.

So , it turned out that Suzhou custom has the parcel and they sent out a notice to the recipient, my father in-law yesterday and He has to go to the post office at Suzhou and go with the employee to the custom there to claim the package. According to the new regulations of the china custom, any product or package that is worth more than 400 yuan (chinese currency) will be suject to china custom inspection and a duty will be determined. I wrote down 80 dollars for the gift I included in the package, and it was therefore handed over to the closest custom to the recipents home address. lesson learned.

I didn't use ems. I used emi=expressed mail international from USPS. I already called USPS and they will so an investigation on it. Still is gonna take five business day. I wonder which custom I have to call if I need to track it down and get it out of there. Does your wife know ? It's USPS though. Which carrier will they use when the package reaches china ? Is it ems?

I use international priority after learning that my international express mail stayed in customs clearing for 7 days. #######, i thought? what am I paying for ?

international priority was the same # of days to clear customs. it didn't matter to me that it took 3 extra days to get to china, prior.

I used expressed international mail which is supposed to be a few days faster and trackable...priority mail can't be tracked..that's why i opted for EMI service from the us post office. ####### ..you are right... it's 9 dollars cheaper for priority mail. so this custom clearance thing is new huh....i just looked up an article from china stating since 2010 they implemented this stricter requirement for incoming package..that's BS...hopefully it ll clear in a few days...if they impose duty on the pacakge..would they notify the recipient?...

i note in the past 3 shipments i've made to Wuhan, it's been 5 to 8 days to 'clear customs' . ...

So it does take 5-8 days to be processed by custom of China based on your experience?...so the expressed international guarantee day which was supposed to be 1/14/13 was irrelevant then?..I sent the package on 1/07/13. They should have gotten the package by now according to their guarantee days. wow take that long to clear custom?...I used to send pacakge all the time to china..never had a problem..always on time...is this custom clearance new in china?. I've heard that they can hold the package for a long time..weeks before it gets delivered to the destination.. is it true?.....thanks for sharing your experiences..I am gonna wait for a few days to see if it clears..if not i am gonna have to resend just the documents only....in the worst case senario that i have to resend everthing, do you think the consulte will accept copies only of our marriage certificate and my wife's birth certificate?... the originals are in that package that I sent 9 days ago....

Just wondering how long it would take to clear custom in china. We've sent a parcel with the original docs to the in laws for their upcoming interview. It was being processied by the custom since the 12th of this month. I sent expresses with USPS. They should have gotten on 14th Monday. If for some reason it got held up. We have to resend the docs. Now. We ve already sent the original copy of our marriage certificate and my wife s birth certificates in the previous parcel. Luckily we kept copies of them but not the original. Do u think that Guangzhou embassy consulate will accept that if they don't get the original Please share your similar experience. Thank you. If we know that sending a gift along with the original docs would be held up at custom we would nt have sent the gift. Just the docs only.

Just approximately, how long will it take to receive one's visa through EMS after approval at guangzhou?..Can someone, who recently have gotten approved and received the visa relate and share?...My in-laws are having interview one week before the chinese new year on 2/5/2013. I am assuming it is going to be peak time for travel including post office. How fast is EMS? how long would it usually take to deliver something outside of Guangzhou. They live in the Region 2 the Jiangsu, shanghai area.

The in-laws are having intervews soon in Guangzhou (GZO), They are doing Electronic Processing, so They will need to bring all original documents they we submitted for them. I am just wondering if they will keep all the original documents at the consulate or just needed them to verify the scanned ones. My wife and I sent in our marriage certificate scanned copy and her birth certificate scanned copies. but we only have one original copy that we might need in the future just in case. Will the consulte return those original copy to them once they verify them or they will keep them. I know they will keep all of the in-laws orignal birth certificates and marriage certificate and police reports. I wonder if I can have them ask them for our original copy back after they verify them in the interview. Please share with similar experience.

is the petitioner's original marriage certificate and birth certificate needed in her parents's petition anyway?

3. depends. is no concept of 'pick up at IV Unit', the visa packet with the passport having visa inside, is sent out via ems. If they not live in an area serviced by EMS, is best to remain in Guangzhou, set the EMS delivery address to that 'special' China Post PostOffice. So, if they choose to remain in Guangzhou after the interview awaiting the visa packet delivery in GUANGZHOU, I suggest a week after the interview date, a full 7 days.

They do live in an area that serviced by ems but not close to Guangzhou. I remember my wife had to wait there for the visa pick up. They wouldn't mail it to people who doesnt live in the Guangdong area. They have to pick up at the special china office. No choice. We were told the next day to pick up after the interview. It wasnt ready until 2 days later. When we went the next day. It wasn't ready and was worried thought something wast wrong. I don't know if it's the same case now after 4 years. If they do send ems to area that has the service not just for thr local resident. Then they wouldn't have to stay at Guangzhou ans just wait at home.

So we are glad we were done with NVC and can't wait to have the interview process over. In-laws are scheduled monday 2/4/13 @ 1230pm for the interview. Is it true that the 1230pm interview is only for finger prints and document intake and that their acutal interview is next day at 730am which is going to be 2/5/13 tuesday? just want to make sure that's the case now with Guangzhou. how long would they have to wait for the visa pickup after they pass?...trying to book hotels for them. thank you for any advice in advance...

You do a paper submittal into NVC or an electronic submittal into NVC?

If electronic, NVC schedules the interview for GUZ IV, usually within 5 days of the 'final review' complete timetick, for 20 to 30 days in the future.

If paper, GUZ IV schedules the interview AFTER the physical casefile arrives in GUZ IV. It'll get scheduled within 3 weeks of GUZ IV opening the casefile, a letter is sent, for 20 to 45 days in the future.

So, what's what? Electronic Processing or no ?

Note the NVC TeleOperators are NOT trained for EP cases, at all.

just learned by phone that cases for in-laws have been completed and will be forwarded to GUZ. So i asked if we are gonna receive email about case being completed. the lady said no.. they will only send out email when the interview has been scheduled. Anyone experienced that?..I thought we will receive emails for both case completion and interview schedule.

re: that phone call - GUZ P3 Supplemental is part of IV packet, so is really strange the tele-operator mentioned checklist for AOS. I'd suggest you call back today before release to holiday hours, and find out, exactly.

It may be that there is something else missing from AOS (Petitioner financial package) as well as something else missing from IV (Beneficiary Visa Application) ..

just received the checklist email this morning...

two things:

1 aos form wasn't signed hard enough.new form has to be filled and rescanned.

2 gzo supplemental form needs to be sent.

can these two things be sent in one email? or seperate email..because I got two checklist emails

now..when I respond to their checklist email. do I reply the the checklist email or start a new email and send those things they requested?

and Do I need to scan and include the checklist page on each email along with the correction ?

yes..we've completed all forms of payments. aos fee and iv fee.

we didn't send the aos package first. after we gather all the necessary info and civil docs..we send everything together through email and received confirmation emails from nvc 2 weeks ago stating they have received the scanned documents for both aos and iv package.

i called today and they said issuing a checklist ..we haven't received the email yet..

is the form part of the iv package or aos package or just a seperate form needs to be filled for each applicant?

last question. do we need to wait for the email to respond to send the supplemental form?

we've completed payment for the aos and iv and send whatever necessary scanned docs two weeks ago.

just called nvc about the in-laws case status. the lady said case not complete..they will be issuing a checklist about the aos package claming it was signed properly and missing the supplemental form for Guangzhou China-GUO. anybody know which form is it...all i know is that we filled out the i-864 and i-864a for them. Do i have to wait for the checklist email to respond and resend those form or i could scan them know and send it now.
