Hi Daria9,
It happened the same to me and I asked the people at the ceremony and they said they could not do anything about that.
I did not try any other ways. How do you think if you call or go in USCIS local office in person to make that request?
I did call USCIS contact center and they recommended submitting a request for last name change through “correct typographical error” section online, which is what I did.
but I also remember that if I would have changed the name during the interview, there was a name change petition that I was supposed to fill out and I don’t have it and not sure where to find it so they might not let me do it

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if it is possible to change a last name (take my husband’s last name) after naturalization interview BUT before Oath Ceremony happened?
At the interview I said that I don’t want to change my last name but since then, I had a change of heart and now want to do it.
do I still have a chance to change it if my oath ceremony hasn’t happened yet? -
Does anyone know,
if I had my citizenship interview where I said I don’t want to change my last name but now I changed my mind.
I didn’t have my oath ceremony yet. Is it too late to ask them to change my last name? If I sign up for infopass appointment and ask them to change it?

Hi there! So sorry this happened to you. I’m also In Columbus and will apply for N400 in February. Curious to hear your interview experience. Thanks
Hi, it was very easy. They asked me questions from the civics test, once I answered 6 right it was over. Then they asked me to say, read and write one sentence “we have 100 Senators” or something like that. Then asked a few questions confirming my name, date of birth, my travel within the last few years outside of US. And then a few easy yes or no questions. That’s about it.

In most cases, those who don't get combo interviews eventually get their I-751 approved within a few days to a couple of months. Essentially, the completion of the N400 forces USCIS to pull the I-751 and work on it instead of it languishing and collecting dust.
Thank you, I really hope so!

Hi everyone,
I applied for citizenship based on a 3 year rule, I am still waiting for a 10 year green card, for which I applied a year ago, in July of 2021.
I just had my citizenship interview today and I passed, however, they told me they can't do a Combo Interview because they don't have access to my I-751 case.
so I basically I won't get my citizenship until my second green card is approved.
Did anyone have this experience? Am I just stuck waiting for the second green card indefinitely?
I kept hearing stories of people getting combo interviews and it makes me so disappointed that I didn't get it.
Please share your experiences!

Hi , I was wondering if you could help me
I haven’t changed my name during interview, or when I applied but then after the interview I decided to take my husband’s name so I filed a Typographical error request and they changed it in their system and sent me an oath ceremony invitation with my husband’s last name on it
now, due to unforeseen circumstances I really need to keep my maiden name , my oath ceremony is on Thursday. Will I be able to keep my maiden name if in the system it is now my husbands name?
Are they allow you to do it? As a “fix mistake in your certificate “ maybe?
