  1. Hi everyone. After almost three years of struggles I am finally reunited with my husband in the Us. I arrived on the 27th of October. They told me that my SSN Number should arrive within three weeks. I am a bit impatient because there are so many applications I would like to send asap. What are your experiences with this? Thank you in advance

  2. I was documentarily approved in August. Nvc wrote Is that yes, we were documentarily approved, but the Consulate in Naples was closed. We called the Consulate, and It was actually open and doing spousal visas. We wrote this to Nvc. No answer. So we asked for an expedite. My husband' s health has been deteriorating for a long time, It Is very likely that I will go through a new lockdown soon, and my son will not be able to enter college if this thing Is going to take months. So we asked for an expedite. Rejected because there were no birthdays on It. They told us to submit It again with birthdays which we did on the second of September.

    No answer.

What Is the point in being documentarily approved if they do not even know if a Consulate is open or closed, and if they are not going to answer anyway to anything? Nvc does not answer emails and now It Is not answering the expedite.

I am desperate and I have been for a long time.Sorry for the rant. Any advice Is appreciated.

Why have you had to wait for 3 years, what's been the hold up? When did you file the petition for the CR-1? Three years is way long for a CR-1, unless you had extenuating  circumstances.

Uscis took that long. At a certain point we were quite sure they had lost the petition. Then it reappeared. Then, compiling DS260 has been a nightmare. We had to pay a lawyer to do it because captchas kept deleting all the data. Yes It Is extenuating.

Please provide a reference to said executive order.  Also, there was no executive order to prioritize spousal visas.  The order exempted spouses from the Covid travel ban.p

Probably we are referring to two different things. The President issued an executive order about suspending visas but our category was not included in the ones suspended. Spousal visas had to continue to be issued. This Is what my lawyer said. I do not recall the executive order I am referring to talking about travelling. Anyway, this Is what my lawyer told me. Consulates and embassies do not issue other kind of visas except the ones allowed. And spousal visas are allowed.

Who sent you the email.  Your timeline seems to indicate you aren't at the NVC stage yet.  Visa processing is still on a consulate-to-consulate basis for IR-1/CR-1 visas.  I would trust the email vs the website at this stage.  Your case will be held at NVC until the consulate has notified them that slots are available for interviews.  Then NVC will schedule your interview when you get to the front of the queue.  You are almost there........patience is the key....good luck.

I am sorry, I did not update the timeline because I do not fully understand the acronyms. But me and my son are both "documentarily approved" and we just miss the interview. Nvc should schedule a date with the Consulate.

I am not sure where you got your information but there is no executive order to process spousal visas. Once you do have your visa however you would be exempt from the travel ban as the spouse/child of a US citizen. Additionally, Most embassies haven’t opened up For routine visa processing and the ones that are are processing expedited/emergent cases. You have to wait until your embassy opens fully and begins processing CR1s (if it hasn’t already). Tens of thousands of others across the world are in the same situation.

There Is an executive order. It Is in the April executive orders. Now there is another one, to prioritize students. But there was such an order.

  7. I don't know if any of you know my story. Anyway I got married and filed for USCIS on the 17 th of August 2018. We got approved by USCIS on the 14th of August 2019. We haven't got the Nvc number yet even if our status on USCIS website changed to Sent to Department of State.

In the meanwhile. After we got married my husband had a relapse of an autoimmune disease he suffered. He had been okay for more than 30 years (first bout at 22yrs old). The relapse brought an increase of symptoms. He has got UCTD. He has tried to work so hard these months. But now he can't walk anymore. He is filing for Social Security Disability.

His parents who are willing to cosponsor us should meet the requirements. But my husband is so worried he screwed up the immigration process. On top of being alone, facing a debilitating disease.

How do I feel? I don't know where to start.

I just wanted to ask you if you think we have any possibility at all at this point.

    We are feeling so discouraged.

  8. Hi Usman. I petitioned on the 17th of August and I got approved yesterday, so I think you will get some news soon. I think in ten days more or less. You can check your status online at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and if they do nothing after 13 months you can ask for an official inquiry on the Uscis website.

I feel your pain. Waiting is so frustrating.
