  1. Ick! Have you verified that the rest of your correspondence with USCIS/DHS has the right birthdate? I'm guessing this is a typo from someone at DHS.

Unfortunately, I don't know of much else you can do, if everything else has the right birthdate. I'm guessing the confirmation request will clear things up (eventually). If you are worried about other fallout (besides SSN) you could try an InfoPass appointment to clear things up.

    Good luck !

Thank you for your response! I think I will wait another week or two and then make an InfoPass appointment. Thanks for the idea :)

  2. Get copies of phone bills even if its not that frequent and copies of all your emails. And also if you have pictures that show tat you have met and as much other proof of the relaitonship in general, add it. I also got a statement from my parents and from a friend of mine who had met my fiance saying that they knew about hte relationship... in love and all that stuff. IF you can get somehing like that from his and your parents, that would be good. A lawyer told me to add those letters. ç

  3. Thank you very much Keisha.

I will list both addresses and place an explanation. I work for an Non-Profit based out of the USA that causes me to spend lots of time in the Dominican Republic, which is why I have a second address. So the income shouldn't be a problem.

    Thanks again!

Be glad you are not processing in the DR. processing is almost 3 years.

You have NO idea how glad I am in not processing there! THat was part of the desicion prosess for my fiance to NOT take up residence in the DR. I have several friends who are in the processe here. I just hope that Haiti is shorter!

Hope that all is well in the DR after Tropical Storm Noel.

  4. I definently DO NOT make 125% above the poverty line. I am planning on using my father as a co-sponser. Does that mean that I won't need as much paper work and he will need the majority? Will he also need to file an I-134? How do I show that I have a co-sponser? In a cover letter? Or will it be obvious once I download that I-134?

Thank you so much for all the help!

  5. Thanks for the quick response. Now a couple of more questions.

What kinds of forms does the Embassy usually send? Does this vary by embassy or is it general?

Also, with the I-134... Do I have to include recent pay stubs? I only get paid once every 6 months or so. Does this affect anything? Also, because of the nature of my work (I would with a USA NGO but I do most of my work outside the USA and haven't filed a W-4 or anything, because I make so little) I don't have a whole lot of financial paper work. Does this cause a problem?

  6. Greetings all!

I am engaged to a Haitian citizen and we are getting ready to send off our I-129F petition. I have a question about the G-325 form. It asks for all addresses in the last 5 years. At the current time I maintain two addresses, one in the USA and one in the Dominican Republic? Do I put them both? I want to use the USA address as my premanant address for all immigration dealings, but I don't want to withold the information that I also stay in the DR.

I have heard that the visa is processed through the embassy where the US citizen lives, not where the foreign fiance lives, if the US citizen lives abroad. I don't want to process our visa through the DR, as the waiting list for an interview is over 3 years long. Is this true?

    Any advice or suggestions?

    Maria
