  1. The NVC made a typo error in entering my wife’s middle name.  It is a very small error in that they entered an”o” instead of a “p” in her middle name.  (Yes, her passport is correct, it is just a NVC typo). Since I had to resubmit a form, I tried to get them to fix their error.  However both my email and phone call went in vain.  Now our case is CC and being sent to embassy.

Does anyone have a similar experience with NVC typos.  Will it be easy to fix at the embassy?

    Thanks

  2. From our recent NVC experience, it seems if you have to resubmit a form, your application goes back to the end of the line.  So In our case, it took them another 3 + weeks for them to accept the resubmission.

This approval (CC) happened for us on June 7th.  Now we are waiting for the interview date.  I originally thought this scheduling would be done in a day or two.  But from what I read here, it apparently takes the NVC roughly 4 weeks to coordinate interview times with the embassies,   Then it is another 3-5 weeks for the actual interview.

Nothing in this process is streamlined...

It all depends on where you are. Some ppl have been waiting for months! My husband was CC April 22 and received IL May 9. Some ppl been waiting over 2 months. Depends how busy your embassy is.

Thank you for your reply but I am not sure I know exactly what you mean.

Is the CC date the date NVC notified your husband as to the interview date and time with the IL date being the actual interview date?

If so, how long was it between when the NVC notified him that all fees and documents were completed and the CC date?

  4. We were notified by the National Visa Center (NVC) that all fees and documents have been received and that they will now schedule us an interview at the Embassy in Bangkok.   That happened two weeks ago but we haven’t heard from them since then.  Since spousal CR-1 visas have priority, we don’t understand why it takes weeks to just get the interview scheduled.
    So the questions are:
How long (in weeks) does it normally take the NVC to get back to spouses with an interview date?  and
When might we expect the actual interview after that?
