I don’t think Consular Officers have the authority to readjudicate petitions approved by USCIS. In fact, they are obligated to take the approved petition as prima facie evidence that the beneficiary have met the requirements of the visa classification. It is highly theoretical but the consular officers have zero authority to do anything about an approved petition.

  2. My fiancé is processing everything from UAE but has a Lebanese passport with a Palestinian document inside. He was approved but within 3 days told to fill out Administrative Processing paper work for social media and email accounts. Last update 5/8/2019 interview was 4/30. No updates :( waiting is frustrating but our 60 day mark is almost up praying for the best!

  3. We did turn in what they asked for. But then they sent us the urgent email for the additional questionnaire, she is a stickler but I had everything dated with names and all. It’s been about 36 days we haven’t received one update and the ceac website says same thing. Thanks for all the info. When I left AD this time Customs went into so much detail and asked so many weird questions. She told be prepared to answer a lot more when you come with him. Thanks for all your insight, looks like they approved you fast. I feel like we have gone through so much and I hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

  4. He brought chat records, phone calls, lots of evidence when he went the second time. The consulate asked him why did you bring all of this information I just asked for more pictures. When we got the passport back we saw her area where she wrote ok for the pictures, but someone else I believed sent it for Administrative Processing and ask for the additional info such as social media, email accounts, and sibling information. They also wanted him to go back 15 years of travel and and 15 years of where he lived and addresses. Did they send you a message on the website the Abu Dhabi one with the update to bring back your passport?

  5. This what it currently states

Your application for a U.S. immigrant visa is undergoing routine administrative processing. As soon as this processing is completed, the Embassy will post a message to this website with further instructions. Please continue to check this website on a regular basis for updates. There is no need for you to write, email, or call the Embassy with inquiries on the case, as that will not speed processing and the Embassy has no additional information, other than what is available on this website.

  6. They said they needed more pictures. We took them the very next day. Then the consulate told my fiancé approved his passport would be at the impost. They returned his passport two days later and said we were in AP. They sent an urgent email stating that the DS 5535 questionnaire must be filled out immediately. Asking for all email accounts and social media accounts. They then sent an email stating it was received and to check the website for updates frequently. It still say’s immigrant visa is still under Administrative Processing. Please do not contact or call the consulate until 60days has passed.

  7. Sorry lost to what you said. Right now we are in Administrative Processing. Our account has not been updated since they accepted the information via the internet. That was on 5/8/2019. It says not to contact embassy in Abu Dhabi till after 60 days. Sorry to be pest, where did you first see or know that your AP was finished and they were sending the visa? They sent my Fiancé’s passport back. I have an Attorney and she said you have to wait to see what they say. Just wondering how long is the wait is generally? Thanks for responding this has been so nerve wrecking. Will they send a email or call with updates? Thanks so much for your time appreciate it!

If you’re in AD and Dubai and signed up for AIS, you should receive an email notication once it’s ready. Click inside on the tracking number. If it’s been a while, the embassy in AD have open appointment on Sundays and Tuesdays after 2 PM if you’re checking on the file or following up the 221g.

Hi in a similar situation as you were. How long was your wait in AP. Our interview was 4/30/19 was approved then got urgent email for AP. We submitted and it was last updated 5/8/2019. Just wondering where any updates or how long to wait for a response. This is so nerve wrecking. My fiancé and I are engaged over 3 years and this has been so stressful. No updates since 5/8. Thanks for the response..
