  1. Hello everyone! I had my oath ceremony last January 27, 2012 in Kansas City. There were 89 of us from 39 countries. I'm happy & relieved that I'm finally done with my immigration process. It was a long journey from K-1 to N-400 and thanks to VJ and its members for all the help. Good luck to the rest of August filers. Wishing you all a fast approval on your interview!

  2. To kiddy, merimusa and Mountain Climber: Thank you and Good luck on your test/interviews!

Wow! I just learned something incredible about this interview!!! Your questions, KC*MP, are exactly the same I was asked, even in the same order! Even more so, the reading and writing sentences were identical. My officer was not using a computer but reading the questions from a sheet of paper and so I am now thinking that USCIS is centrally providing the questions (hopefully, of the month) instead of using a software that randomly picks them. What a joke!

That's interesting to know that we had exactly the same test for the same interview date. I noticed that my IO has a ready print out of the civics questions and he was writing the answers as I gave them. He didn't use his computer the entire time of my civics test or my interview. So you might be right that they are provided with sets of questions for a certain period, at least for some USCIS offices.

  3. Hi everyone! I had my interview last October 31 in Kansas City, MO. My appointment was at 9:00 am and was called in at 9:10. The IO asked for my greencard and driver's license. I gave him my GC and passport and explained that I have yet to apply for a driver's license. I was swore in and then the IO started with the civics test. The questions were:

    1. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

    2. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

    3. Who is the governor of your state now?

    4. Who was the first President?

    5. Name two national holidays?

    6. Where is the Statue of Liberty?

The IO asked me to read: "Where does the President live?" and write: "The President lives in the White House".

After that, he scanned through my N400 application and verified if all the information are still true or correct like our current address & place of work. He also went through all the questions and made me sign my 2 pictures. Then he told me that I passed the test and will recommend for the approval of my application. He said that my oath taking ceremony will more likely be in January, 2012 since the December schedule is already full. He didn't asked for any evidences or proof that I brought with me. The interview lasted for about 15 minutes. I'm relieved that this part of the N-400 process is over. Good luck to the rest of August filers.

  4. Thank you very much KC MP. Your post gave me a relief a little bit because when my husband and I called that 1800 it seemed that my application was hopeless. No one knew where it went. Anyway, another week of waiting as usual. This process really tested all of our patience. Good luck to all of us and congratulations on your approval. Are you from the Philippines? Mabuti ka pa at natapos na ang paghihintay... God bless you and your love ones.

Thank you luckymom. I know how you feel eventhough my waiting was not as long as yours. It's depressing to check everyday and all you get is the same message that your case number doesn't exist.....Yes, I'm from the Philippines (MP). Konting paghihintay na lang yan maapprove ka na rin....Good luck and I hope you'll post the good news soon.

  5. Got my approval letter in the mail today. Still haven't gotten any more touches or email alerts since Thursday so I guess not everyone gets more than one. Just waiting on the card now. Hope to see lots of action in this thread this week.

Got the greencard yesterday August 30. I'm sure your card will be in the mail any time soon. Yes, I'm hoping for approvals to the rest of July filers

  6. My husband and I just called the 1800 number if your case number doesn't show online. All they've got are the same information that they received it in such and such a date, then my bio appt. and nothing else. No added information except things that we knew already. I don't see any sense why that 1800 number exist there. Maybe someone can enlighten me what's the purpose of that number...

The same thing happened to our case. I kept getting the same result whenever I check for my case number even after my biometrics last August 11. It finally worked on August 24 and the message was they ordered for the production of the new card.It was a surprise so I checked again if it was true and it gave me the same result. I was also considering calling that number they provided to inquire about my application if it didn't work last week. I guess, some people who are working in our paperwork forgot to put our case number in the system but it doesn't necessarily mean they have put aside or lost our application. Hope you will soon get a positive result when you check your status. Good luck!!!

  7. Congrats on receiving your card boilermaker and also for the extra details in your time line. Since the first email on Thursday I haven't received any more but did see a touch on Friday.

For the other people who have been approved already have you gotten more than one email? I'm wondering if 3 notifications after approval is normal or just something that happens to some people.

Congratulations on your approval!!!   . We haven't received the GC yet but we received yesterday the approval notice from the mail. It says that we should receive the GC within 60 days and it will also include a mailer, Form I-797D, with important information about my status, responsibilities, etc.We got 3 notifications so far from email, first is the card production ordered, second the approval notice and the last one was the mailing of the approval notice.I think it is normal to get notifications or updates after approval. To the rest of the July filers, I hope everyone will get their approval soon.

  8. We got approved yesterday, August 24!. It was a pleasant surprise because our case number didn't work since they received our application until yesterday. I was already expecting the same message when it finally worked and the message was they ordered production of the new card. Good luck to all who are still waiting. I think July filers will be getting a lot of approvals soon.

  9. Has anyone have had trouble adding biometric case number to USCIS website? for me it says that the number does not exist :S (I'm not using NOA letter number, which is different).

It's also the same with me. My case number from the ASC appointment letter is not recognized whenever I check for its status. Hopefully it will be recognized after my biometrics this coming Wednesday.

  10. Your 2009 tax return with W-2s should be just fine. I had the same issue last year for my wife's AOS package.

1 thing I did do was to print out the 1040 and then signed it instead of simply copying the return with your signature already on the form. I was afraid USCIS would not accept the return without an ORIGINAL signature. Not sure if required but I thought it prudent to do instead of getting a RFE.....

    Best wishes and good luck

I will do the same if I can't wait until June to file for my I-751.I wouldn't want to file too close to the expiration of my GC.Thanks.

  11. From my experience that is bologna (hope i spelled that correctly lol). That isnt necessarily true but could depend on when you actually submitted or filed your taxes. Hubby filed his in February and within the month, I requested transcripts, via fax and mail (sent in form 4506) and got replied mail including year 2009.

As mentioned, I believe it has to do with the time you filed but I could be wrong. Try requesting it via mail or fax and see if you'll get the same response. All the best.

We filed for our 2009 tax return last March 10,2010.I will try requesting for it via mail or fax. Thanks for the suggestion.

  12. I will be filing for I-751 next month.I called the IRS to request for 2008 and 2009 tax transcripts but I was told that they can only furnish me the 2008 tax transcript at this time and the 2009 tax transcript will be available in June. Do you think it is ok to just include in my I-751 package a 2008 tax transcript and the 2009 will be the copy of our Income Tax Return with W2?Or should I wait until I can get 2009 tax transcript? Thank you.
