It was damaged.  Immigration told us to send it back.

Thanks for the input but IT WAS STILL SEALED.  No documents could be taken out.

Thanks for the advice.  WE had the visa in our hands. We sent back the yellow envelope still sealed.  There was about 2.5 inches left before it was open.  We sent it back asking for a reseal.  They didn't say how long it would take. They received it two weeks ago. I called today they said up to a month more. Which means what??  So they unseal the envelope and put in an more robust envelope and mail it back.  It takes over 6+ weeks? read between the lines. We lost all out tickets and reservations, my tenant left my house in the US,  I have half our clothes in the US, most of our furniture is gone ...  The worst thing is now they are holding her passport.  We can do nothing. 

Hi I am married to a US citizen and I just received my IR1 visa by courier.  My problem is the yellow envelop was not sealed.  The instructions state we should give it to the immigration office sealed! 

It is not sealed somehow it got ripped open and was delivered like that.  What should I do?  What is in the envelop?  We are afraid to look further.
