  1. My case was transferred to VSC on the 26th of March. There still hasnt been a touch or anything else. The case status on the USCIC website states that the case was transferred to another location. My question is that should there be a notice from VSC stating that the case was received and that the application is pending. If thats the case how long does it take to get that notice.

Could someone please tell if they had an email stating that VSC has received their 129-F transfer from MSC.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. A touch is something when someone with the service center has looked at your application or done something with it (no matter how small). The only way to see if its touched is check the status everyday and on the home screen there is a Last Updated field. If this changes that means your application has been "touched".

I don't understand this whole "Touched" thing is all about? I have registered on the USCIS website and have the email notifications enabled. Is there an option to see if your case has been touched by them? Please help..

    Thanks..

    Jay

  3. Frank,

Once your K3 is approved and your wife is in the US you need to file for an AOS. You have the option of either CR-1 or K3. If she has a K3 means that you chose K3 over CR-1. Now when she is in the US you need to file an AOS. Hope this helps.!!

    Hope someone can answer this:

Once the K3 is approved and my wife is in the U.S. with me what is the process for the I-130 for the CR-1? Where does the interview take place? Here in the U.S. I would assume and not at the Embassy in my Wife's native country?

    Thanks

    Frank

  4. 1. As said above, K-3 visa is your best option.

    2. You can only file in India if you have been living there ie you are a resident of India and a US Citizen.

    3. If you can get a register marriage (i.e you are married) by going there and coming back here and then apply for the K3. I belive you can do that because you are officially married.

    Hi all,

First of all, I LOVE THIS FORUM. In just one day, I found so much information that I've been searching everywhere without any luck!!

My situation: I'm getting married in end of October. My fiance is in India at this time. I'm U.S. Citizen.

    My questions are

    1. What should I file? I-130 with I-129f (k-3 visa)seems to be the best choice but I can also file for fiance visa(k-1) and that would be just 129f.

    2. Where should I file? Since I'm getting married in India, I have option of filing from here or over there, correct? If so, which is preferred/faster?

    3. Can I do anything at this time to help this process? Maybe go there for a week and register marriage?

    4. Also, is it true that if I file from Delhi, I would need to stay there for 90 days? I keep hearing that the rule does not apply anymore. Does anyone know for a fact what the current law is?

    THANKS for all your help!!!
