Gotcha, thank you. I know that the I-134 is for non immigrant visas and I-864 for immigrant based visas so they are mutually exclusive. My question is that, with the U.S. embassy in Brazil, is the I-134 if sufficient enough to fulfill the financial requirement to the point where my fiance and enter the country as a non-immigrant?

Hello, me and my fiance received our I-979 petition approval on April 18th. We messaged the NVC about a week ago after the 30 days went by. and now we contacted the U.S. Consulate in Rio, and still no word on our interview date, or what to do in the meantime. Anyway, anyone have an idea of how long it's been taking for the NVC to take action on approved petitions? I sent them an Inquiry about a week ago and no response. thanks for reading

Hello, so I'm a 21 year old college student with an income less than the required minimum with a Brazilian Fiance. My father agreed to help and his income is above the minimum required. The problem is that he is not comfortable with the liability of the I-864. So, would the I-134 be enough to fulfill the financial requirement for the interview phase of the k1 visa process. I'll graduate in July and will make enough by the time the adjustment if status comes into play. Thanks for reading :)

My father makes comfortably above what's necessary, but I've heard that the I-134 isnt legally binding so would that be enough by itself?
