2 ) Do I need to get Police Clearance Certificate from Bangalore + Ahmedabad District Office

    OR

    3)

Do I need to get Police Clearance Certificate from my hometown City in Gujarat + Ahmedabad District Office ( Bangalore is not needed )

    Kindly share your thoughts.

  2. Hey all,

Wife finally got the PCC from passport office!!! She says the PCC was folded and placed inside the passport. When she unfolds the PCC she says it looks like two originals with perforation or whatever it is in the middle.

So the question is, since I have no idea how this PCC looks like, do they give you 2 originals? and did you keep one original and sent one to NVC or send both to NVC?

    Please advise asap....

    Thanks!!!

yes they give two certificate, one certificate will be taken by consulate while submitting papers at vfs , who will put that certificate in sealed brown cover when you enter usa, which is kept by them....

and you will have the other one....(pls keep it, you will need if you do aos process or for future)

its simple certificate saying that there is no adverse information against(benificiary name) with date and issuance place and passport number , etc.....

and that person can travel ....

and in passort there are two stamps given by regional passport office

    1) regional passport office stamp

2)ministry of external affairs stamp(govt of india)

    hope this helps

  3. To all my friends here: From a telephonic call, Mumbai consulate notified me that our interview date has been set and that they sent packet-4 on March 4th. My fiancee has not received packet-4 and we have to physically collect it. Could you guys advise me on:

What evidence is required to be shown to consulate to collect packet-4?

Can our relative collect it if my fiancee is not able to do so

    Can we collect through VFS-Kolkata

Thanks guys and greatly appreciate your response,

    bengali lover

packet 3/4 usually gets lost in mail for mumbai consulate

in order to get packet 4 , go to information window in mumbai consulate

tell your bmb#, they wud give duplicate packet 4,

yes your relative can collect the duplicate pakcet4

but ask them to go very early , as theres long queue at this window

    no idea abt vfs ....

pls do it as soon as possible

    hope this helps

    pls check your msg

  4. Does the mumbai embassy usually give the passport back the same day after the interview?

where do we pick it up?

yes you can get the passport on the same day at interview. after the interview you can talk to them and ask to pick it up

    and usually they do allow

you would have go to vfs centre (which is very close to embassy) in the evening around 4:30 pm or something and get it.

  5. Hello guys

yesterday we got approved for my aos interview

and even received the email saying that welcome letter is mailed :)

It took nearly 6 months to get to this stage.

About the interview , it went fine.I Went there early with my husband and the officer asked us simple questions like when u got maried and where does your husband work, do u guys live togather and all that do you/have you questions.

since we did not had much things togather in both our name (as i do not have ssn and just changed into married name) we were scared first. but the officer was kind and talked very nicely with us.

and at last he even said that its a nice sunny day and you both should go out togather and enjoy the sun.

We had so many difficulties starting from k3 process and in this aos process. but all is fine now. I am with my husband happily in usa. and with greencard. :)

I want to thank you all for helping me out in this process. you guys are great.

A big thank you to all vj's and vj from me and my husband.

    regards,

    Neha

  6. My husband came to the states on a K-3 visa. We are in the process of filling out the AOS papers. I want to know which year taxes papers do we need to use.... I still haven't filled out my tax return for the year 2007.

you are required to send copies of last three years tax papers but as for 2007 u would do it in 2008 april.

so u need to send 2006 ,2005,2004 copies of tax papers

  7. thanks so much

yes i did talk with them for ead at that infopass appointment but that time i had to allow 30 days (as its their rule?)

    for mail to reach .

so now its exactly one month and so just curious.

as i did not had ead i do not have ssn so don't have much things in my name(as i have changed into my married name)

i just learned that green card is everything so i won't need ead now . so its fine even if it doesn't come.

again thanks for the information. hope everything works at interview.

  8. hello guys

i was so excited to come here the next day after the visa , had wrong dates on my i-94 cardand did not knew abt the dates on i-94 so.

thats for the later though. just be prepared.

  10. hi guys

one thing i forgot to ask u all is that when i went today at local office i mentioned abt my i-94 card which has wrong date on it , mine says 90 days only.

so i was reading uscis.gov and got to know if theres mistake in that card go to local uscis office.

but the lady there said that my i-94 is fine and it has to be 90 days. she said its correct

i said that i got to know that i-94 for k3 is 2 yrs , she said no its 90 days

    it she correct?

as my i-94 is expired i am not able to get driving license here in nj.

    thanks for help

  11. hello guys

wanted to tell u the good news , went to uscis office with infopass and they listesned my request and they would reopen my aos file again and would mail me new interview letter soon. but i might lose some months in this, thats fine as long as i don't have to pay the fees again. she was very not good at first then i insisted on seeing the supervisor, then she went inside talked with someone and then told me that she would reopen the case . then she helped me .

one thing i got to know that when anybody moves they should go to local office and check new address in the database

and not to believe in what u get status online or 800 number says, alwayz go to in person to local uscis office .

my biometrics was in oct and in nov it was my interview and i thought as theres so much rush right now i would not get interview this early but i was wrong.interview was just one month after biometrics.

she said that none of mails were returned back to her , due to change of address , and i have not received here even though i had send request at postal office to forward the mails. uscis mails here are not forwarded. so somebody between either the post office or at old house. i went to post office today requested them to see if they still have any mails in my name. they said to come tomorrow. and would even check with the person at old house.

i just want to thank u all for the help. u guys are best.

and lots of thank yous to vjs.

and now they want me to file a motion for repopening or reconsideration.whats that?

i don't want to pay the fees again.

  13. by the way aishwarya rai was miss world 1994

Aishwarya Rai is the most successful female Bollywood Actress of all time. Voted Time Magazines 100 most influential people in the world, Aishwarya has been catapulted in to superstardom. Recently she has starred in the international box office smash 'Bride and Prejudice'. Among her millions of fans is Oprah Winfrey who recently devoted a whole show to this icon of India.

  14. Last night, my husband entered JFK on a K-3 visa. He specifically asked for a work stamp twice. The immigration officer insisted that the stamped I-94 with K-3 written on it is sufficient. I thought that it has to say "authorization" some where. I know that he can not work until he has a SS card, but the work permit is important.

your husband would have to apply for EAD i.e. employment authorization document

    read guides

  15. I-94 should be for 2 years for K-3 visa holders, it sounds like officer at POE was thinking K-1.

K-3 is multi-entry, so if you do travel and re-enter the country, the next I-94 should be correct.

    oh my god .

so would that create any problem for me?

actually the thing happened is that i came here at midnight and the officer at immigration office was actually not aware of k3 visa and he was asking everybody around there and hardly ppl knew abt it.

i just knew he will give me i-94 with stamp .

    what should i do next?

    thanks for help

  16. TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

A telephone operator told me that one day she received a phone call. She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence. She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer. When she was going to cut off the line, she heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB. Sorry, I got the number from my Husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is."

Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB".

    NO POINTING FINGERS

A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?"

The father-in-law answered in a smile, "Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at. This is the start of a war. We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves.

If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

    CREATING PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS?

A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and requested "I am looking for a spouse. Please help me to find a suitable one." The SDU officer said, "Your requirements, please." "Oh, good looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable, and good in singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour, if I don't go out. Telling me interesting stories when I need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest." The officer listened carefully and replied, "I understand you need television."

There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a blind wife and a deaf husband, because the blind wife cannot see the faults of the husband and the deaf husband cannot hear the nagging of the wife. Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and dream of perpetual perfect relationship. Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage is not a bed of roses. The nightmare begins.

    NO OVERPOWERING

Many relationships fail because one party tries to overpower another, or demands too much. People in love tend to think that love will conquer all and their spouses will change the bad habits after marriage. Actually, this is not the case. There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "It is easier to reshape a mountain or a river than a person's character."

It is not easy to change. Thus, having high expectation on changing the spouse character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness.

It would be less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectations...

    RIGHT SPEECH

There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation." Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other, we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party.

A friend and her millionaire husband visited their construction site. A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted,"Hi, Emily! Remember me? We used to date in the secondary school." On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her, "Luckily you married me. Otherwise you will be the wife of a construction worker." She answered,"You should appreciate that you married me. Otherwise, he will be the millionaire and not you."

Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

    PERSONAL PERCEPTION

Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home, a boy commented, "Very stupid. Why neither of them rides on the donkey?" Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, "The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?" Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.

Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, "How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman."

The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey. Then, they met a young man. He commented, "Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you." Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders.

It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.

Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear...

    BE PATIENT

This is a true story which happened in the States. A man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment. When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.

Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands. When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, "Daddy, I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "But when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father went home & committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or u wish to take revenge. Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love. Trucks can be repaired... Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't. Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.

People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

    lovely guys

    btw its true
