Hi all. My green card and driver's license both expire on the same day (On Jan. 28th). Do you know if I can renew my driver's license with the receipt they sent me extending my green card for a year??? thanks for any replies.

We actually had 3(!) wedding ceremonies. One for the paperwork, one in USA for all the American family and one in Greece the next year for all my greek family. We plan to send pix of all three.

Hello all. So I read here that the gov. doesn't remind you to send I-795 but today I got a letter from Homeland Security that states exactly that. That I should file for lifting of conditions...Should I worry that I got a notice from them? Is it usual?

Bumping this thread. I'd love to hear if anyone knows...Does my son (born this year in USA) need anything else than a passport to travel with us to Greece for 3 weeks? Thanks!

On the same subject, my green card expires in January and I have tickets to travel back to Greece in November. What would you suggest? Should I send the application before I go eg. in October or wait until I'm back on the 1st of December? I'm a little worried that they would set an appoint. for me while I'm gone but that would be unlikely right? Another question I have is whether my son needs any special documentation to come with us. He was born in USA. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Thanks for the help.
Here is how it went.
Because name on my passport was different than the name on the tickets ( I used my married name to book them) I had my marriage certificate with me to prove the change and everything went smooth.
I filled the white form on the plane before reentering USA (through Seattle). I went through the us citizen line with my husband and they sent us to secondary screening. After some waiting, they took away one copy of my advance parole documents and stamped my passport.
Now I'm back and I received a notice that my card has been ordered! What a great welcome present after visiting my family!!!

This could cause you unnecssary stress at the airport. Get the airline to do a name correction - mention the word change and they'll wanna charge you $100!!
I really hope I won't have a problem cause I have kept my married name as a middle name...Hopefully they will see that it's not two completely different names and with the Montana ID and marriage certificate it won't be an issue...

in my married name (the name that appears on AP and marriage certificate)
while on my passport there is my maiden name.
Do you think I'll have a problem with the airlines?
We fly tomorrow morning and I'm freaking out right now!
Do you have any other government issued picture ID that has your "married" name on it since your passport does not?
Yes, I have Montana ID card with my picture on and my married name and an EAD, marriage certificate.
I don't know why I didn't think of it before...Has anyone had a bad experience with airlines if they name doesn't match between tickets and passport?
I really feel so bad right now, I don't want to go to the airport tomorrow and be denied to fly out...!
