I hope that helps ! I will let you know if I hear anything or if my interview gets cancelled (but I really hope not !)
Hi Adeline,
I was wondering if you would follow up on this topic? Did you end up receiving and email (or mail) from the embassy? If so, did it have any consequence on the interview date you had already scheduled?
I am at that stage now where our case status is "ready" and it would be nice to go ahead and pick an interview date.
Your feedback will be much appreciated
Thank you

Hi Keyo,
I actually scheduled my interview without the letter and the first available date was December 18th... But thank you so much for your message !

If it says « in transit », then I definitely think you should at least wait until the status says « Ready » (see my picture). It probably means that the embassy hasn’t received your case yet. That’s my guess but I’m not sure.
You actually did help me a lot too because it means that maybe it is not so bad for me that I already scheduled my interview without a letter/email from the embassy. So thank you !
Best of luck for everything
Hi Adeline,
Maybe you actually did the right thing by scheduling your interview
Would you mind keeping us posted on this? I think it would help us all to know if we can go ahead and book the interview once our status says "ready", and not wait for a letter/email.
Thank you so much and bonne chance!

Hello Adeline,
We are not at the interview stage yet, but the instructions found on the French US embassy website clearly states to wait for them to contact you before registering or scheduling anything:
https://fr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/finacee/
- Wait to receive notification from Embassy Paris that your file has been received from the National Visa Center (NVC). Follow the instructions carefully.
Hope this helps!
