  1. Hi All members:

I have a few questions for who have already finished their I-134, Affidavit of Support.

    1. As I understand that I can list a real estate property, if any. If I do list a real estate property, should I also attach a copy of the deed of the house to the form?

    2. I kind of know the value of my house in my neighborhood. But should I provide any very formal estimate from any type of agency to prove the value of my house?

    3. Did you guys attach bank statements to this form? How many months of statement should I provide?

    4. I think I need to provide my tax return. How many years of tax return should I attach to this form?

Thank you very much in advance for all of your response.

    Jack

  2. Otto:

One more question for you. As I read somewhere, in addition to the 1-134 form (affidavit of support), I need to get a letter from my employer to prove that I am currently working in my department. Is that true? If it is true, do you know where I can find a template for that letter?

    thank you very much,

    Jack

You can find an example here:

Thank you so much. You are always very helpeful.

  3. After your NOA2 you should (I think we all did/will) contact NVC (the telephone number is on your NOA2) via telephone (you can inquire by email as well) to see if they've received your case/file - once the do...Get your Case number from them.. and with any luck, they'll also tell you when it shipped to China. From your Service Center to NVC allegedtly takes anywhere from 2 week to 4 weeks - apparently it depends on the alignment of the moon and stars...

As for how long it takes to get the Packet 3 - once your case/file is received by the consulate - apparently depends on the embassy/consulate itself - Germany was VERY fast - only a few days - that is apparently the exception... Truthfully only other China-filers (or those that may know) would be able to shed light on that... =)

    In The Mean Time

Once you have your NVC case number - you/your-fiancé can schedule his/her medical (using that new number) - he/she can also use that number to inquire with your local Embassy/Consulate as to if they received your case and for any other inquiries you may have.

You (the USC) should be preparing all the documents that are universal to every petition (affidavit of support, further proof of ongoing relationship, gathering any original documents you used in your I129F, and getting them ready to ship to China) - you'll also want to check the Embassy section/reviews to read about any specifics China may have as far as requirements or quirks. (Also, most will require a police certification - might want to start checking on that.)

The foreign fiancé can be preparing the other universal documents - such as:

    DS-156

    DS-156k

    DS-230

(Keep in mind, they may ask for additional/different forms-check embassy section to be certain)

That's what we (and most) did after the NOA2 (besides kind of loose sleep waiting...as many still are..)

    Hope that helps...

    Karin und Otto:

Thank you very much for you detailed information. I will call NVC next week and start to prepare all the document we needed.

  4. Sorry, I'm a bit confused by your question! It appears you originally ask Otto if they know if you should be doing anything in between getting NOA2 and Package 3...is that right? Or are you wondering if you should have received Packet 3 by now? Sorry for the confusion...I'm probably just thinking too much!

There is nothing that we had to do between getting NOA2 and Packet 3, but that was in the UK so maybe it's different in China. I would recommend that you start getting documents ready for packet 3 and for the interview. Like police checks and things like that as they can take a while to come. You can see what your embassy requires in the embassies section here on VJ. There should be a list there that explains all of the forms that are in Packet 3 and what you need to have. If you go ahead and fill these out -MAKE SURE THEY ARE UP TO DATE COPIES- then you should have everything ready to pop in the mail when you finally receive packet 3!

    Good luck!

    Marina + Dave:

Thany you for your respnose. I think I have to wait until we receive package 3 to find out what kind of document we need to prepare. I think I will contact NVC next week to see if they forward the case to embassy in China. Thanks again.

    Jack

  5. Otto or anyone who knows the answer:

quick question. My NOA2 is approved on 3/9 and we have not receive any inforamtion regarding Package 3 yet. Is there anything I should do before receiving package 3?

    Thanks,

    Jack

Sorry my mistake. Our NOA2 is approved on 4/9. As I heard, it takes about 2, 3 month before we will hear anything regarding package 3 from China. It sucks.

  6. There is no online way to track your case when it is at NVC - you can call them to get your case number - they do have an email you can inquire, but from what I've learned, it's pretty slow - much faster to call. The good news is they don't really hold on to your case for very long at all before sending it out to your embassy.

After your NOA2 - wait a few days before calling the number on your NOA2.. (it seems to take a few days - maybe a week depending on when it was approved to get to NVC) - if it is there, they will tell you - otherwise give a day or so longer..

Once it is sent to the embassy, there is a kind of way to track the DHL packages to the embassy, but it's not a whole lot of help. - only takes a few days to get there anyway.

Once it is at the Embassy - you can call the embassy to check status - but I wouldn't call too often..

    Hope that helps..

    ~O

    Otto:

Thank you very much and your information is really helpful.

    Regards,

    Jack

  7. Diana & Karoline:

thank you very much. Yes, it was a huge relief. I felt so happy this morning and sent a text message to my Fiance in China. Now, I am waiting for the P3. Does anyone on the forum know how to track or follow up with P3 and P4? i know I need to contact USCIS for P1 and P2 status, but I don't know how to track the status of P3 or P4.

    Thanks and with best regards,

    jack

  8. Update on my case. Our petition was just approved this morning  and P2 should be on its way. Thanks god. I was so depressed yesterday and suddenly everything changed after reading the k1 approval email from USCIS this morning. Thanks everyone's encouragement and information on this forum. I will keep you guys posted. Now the new waiting game began.

    Have a nice day,

    Jack

  9. Ditto what Otto said. I'm afraid its a bit too early to contact your representative.

This is why the VJ timelines should only be taken as a ROUGH guesstimate. Too many fall between the cracks to call it anything but that. And we all know by now that 'first come first serve' stuff is major BS.

    Tracy:

Thank you for your reply. I went through a tough time dealing with USCIS during my citizenship journey last year. Therefore, I don't really believe what even they told me over 1-800 line.

    Jack

  10. Jack

First (and many will ask too) fill in your timeline please - it not only helps people address your questions/concernes but also becomes part of the overall statistics of the VJ group.

I did a quick search of time-lines on here and found a couple similar to yours - on in particular only days ago received their NOA2 so you may not be in terrible trouble... (Am going out on a limb by assuming you filed your petition at any place BUT Vermont.)

Of course USCIS will give you the standard answer that they did - they really don't have much else to tell you.

Couple of things I would do were I you...and if you haven't done some already..

Fill in your time-line here on VJ - take a look at your Possible Date Your Case Will Be Adjudicated by.. this will give you a better understanding of how far off you are as opposed to others.

Secondly - go to the USCIS website - register your petition so you can view your case - at least know if it's being touched..not that touches really mean a whole lot, but might be comforting...

Lastly - be patient...you're going to be OK - we're her to help each other as best we can...

    p.s.

No, I wouldn't be calling a senator at this point..

Don't be shy to ask for help... we all did..

    ~Otto

    Otto:

thank you for your information. I just added my timeline and I hope my information can help the others. Yes, my petition is processed at CSC and I know it is very SLOW in CSC. I did register my case on USCIS website and I go and check the status at lease once a week. As you can see from my signature, my file is touched on 1/4/07 and nothing since then. Well, I guess there is nothing that I can do but waiting at this point.

    Regards,

    Jack

  11. First of all I want to congratulate to everyone who already got their case approved. I am a December filer and I am still waiting the case to be approved. I tried to call USCIS 1-800 line today and the officer told me they are process the case filed last September. I know it is not true, because many of you have got your cases approved. I am very frustrated at this point.:angry: Should I contact my Senator's office? Can they help at all? Is it still too early to contact my Senator? Or is there anything I can do?

thank you and have a nice day,

    Jack

  12. Keep in mind, too, that not EVERYone falls within the Visa Journey timeframe. I made the big mistake by thinking that our case would, and went through a lot of torment when it didn't.

VJ is just a small sample of the entire population going through CSC - who process more than just I 129f's, too.

Thank you for your words. I understand that VJ is just a small sample population going through CSC. I totally understand your feeling when you went through the process, because I am going exactly the same thing right now. Hopefully, I will have good news next week.

Thanks and good luck for the rest of your K1 process.

    Jack

  13. Hi there! You need not to worry as long as you're in your time frame. It's been pretty slow lately at CSC for VJers and the last approval I saw got NOA1 date of 12/23... Hopefully next week will be the week that everybody's been waiting for... SHOWER OF NOA2SSSSSSSSSSS!

Hang in there and good luck to you!

    Mae

    Mae:

Thank you for your kind response. It is just another test for me and my girlfriend. As the one went through K1 process, you are the person who will truly understand the feeling of the people like me who is patiently waiting for the NOA2. Thank you again.

    Jack

  14. Any % updates for December CSC filers (NOA2)? Last I heard, it was around 80% approval for NOA2.

    Hi,

    73% (40 of 55) of CSC have their NOA2.

50% receive it within 82 days

84% receive it within 94 days

98% receive it within 107 days.

    Best of luck,

    PPFKL

Thank you for your information. Actually, I am new the the forum. I filed the petition for my girl friend in China and INS received on 12/27. The petition is touched once on 1/4/07 and nothing since then. Should I start to get worried? Thanks,

    jack
