I got my green card...!!
We went for the interview on Dec 18 and came to know the same day that our case is approved!
I got the Welcome letter in anathor 4 days time and finally the card end of Dec!!!!!
Waoooo that was really fast..
Now when I look back and think how long drawn and stressful the process was I feel I would not have been able to make it a success without
the support and information from all the VJs on this forum..!!
This forum rocks...keep up all the good work guys!!
Thanks to each one of you!!

Thanks to all of you for the info..
Well, i was verbally informed at the interview that my case is approved.
But these days lot of offices do not stamp the passport so i guess i would have to wait till i don't receive the card.
Only problem is I have been going for interviews and I am asked to present my legal work permit in most places...
Anyways atleast I know that I did'nt lose the card but my interviewing officer retained it..
So lets keep my fingers crossed and hope that the welcome letter and then the card reaches us really sooooon!!!
Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all!!

We had our AOS interview today morning..
Our case has been approved..:-)
But after coming out of the office I realized that I left my EAD card at the desk.
Do they retain the EAD card at the interview or did I leave it there by mistake?
I have been applying in jobs and would need that till I do not have my greencard in hand..
Thanks in advance to all of you who help me with some suggestions.

I have already submitted my I 693 A vaccination supplement with my AOS package.
Now I need to do to complete medical(I 693) and bring the report and completed I 693 form to the AOS interview next week.
I know i am doing this at the very end and its my fault.
But kind of worried how long the whole medical process would take since my AOS interview is coming Tuesday, Dec 18.

Hello Ebody...
I have my interview next week but i have to get my complete medical done before that.
I wanted to know whether the panel doctors are able to provide the I 693 the same day I visit the doctor.
Its late evening over here, i know i can get the information from the doctors place when i call them tomorrow..
But just been curious to know about it.
Thanks in advance..

One more question..
I already submitted my I 693 A with the AOS package.
I never got any RFE for not submitting the complete medical.
Do I still need to get my medical done and take the complete I 693 with me to the interview?
Request some information on this.
Thanks!

I would like to know whether the cost of the medical test for AOS could be covered by my husband's insurance from his employer.
I am covered under his insurance plan.
I called up one of the panel doctors to know the same thing but that particular clinic does'nt take insurance.
So is it the normal practice or other doctors might accept?
Request some information on this.
Thanks

Thanks to each one you for your suggestion..
well, it is an unanimous advice to have the original birth certificate with me..
so i will have my parents send it to me..
thanks again!

Hello ebody...
i still have anathor 20 days to the interview..
may be some would find this question silly but i would still go ahead and ask ..
i have originals of everything except for my original birth certificate.
the scanned copy is what i submitted with the AOS package but i guess i need to have all originals with me at the interview.
My original birth certificate is back home.
Is it absolutely necessary to ask my parents to post it to me or i can do with the scanned image?

Hey my card was approved on Sept 26 and i got the EAD card on mail today...
that was really fast....
feeling great about it......
-
well for me the experience was different..
They replied to all my queries on email on the same id posted above.
Do mention your case number in subject and also in the email.
Its very difficult to reach them on phone but email is one of the best ways to communicate with them..thats my opinion.
I comuunicated with them in July 2006, dont know if the scenario is different now.
All The Best!!

CB82 : Thanks for adding those two columns.....very good job...
thanks again
-
CB82 : It will be great if you can add those two columns for EAD and AP approvals..
People dont have to search the post for the status of other filers, ething will be visible just by looking at the list.
July filers are doing a good job on this, they maintain a column stating numbers of days for EAD approvals from USCIS receiving the package.
Thanks...

Wat about your biometrics appnt letter?
Well we too received our NOA1 38 days after USCIS received our papers but had our biometrics before that.
Check with other filers around your time to see if this kind of delay is common but i would suggest you to call USCIS and subsequently take an infopass apnt..
45 days is long enough to start receiving correspondences from USCIS..!!
thats my opinion
-
Thanks a lot for the prompt info..

Good News from my side..!!
My EAD card production has been ordered on 26th Sept.
Hav'nt got any letter on the mail yet..
Can anybody tell me how long it takes to receive the card from the time its approved?
USCIS says 30 days, is'nt it normally received sooner.
Cheers....
a suggestion from my side...why dont we add a column mentioning the EAD approval date just like the how the July filers post is maintaining..
-
Hi..
I had my biometrics for EAD as well as AOS on Aug 24.
How long do you think it would take for me to receive my EAD?
Did not get any RFE yet...and i hope i dont get at all!
-
Same it is with my case..
Online it says the notice was sent on August 1st but i received it yesterday on the mail dated Aug 27.
So yes there is something weird about that..
But me too happy to see things moving ahead...:-)
Thanks Jezz for adding my name to the Aug list..:-)
All the Best to all of us...
-
Hello Ebody,
Request my info to be added to the list. I was part of the July filers post but received my NOA dated Aug 27th.
Following is my AOS timeline:
Sent - July 12th
Recd - July 20th
Biometrics - Aug 24th
NOA - Aug 27th
Thanks and All the Best to all of us here!!
-
Hello !!
I finally got my NOA for AOS and its 27th Aug dated.
So i guess i should move to the August filers post..
-
Can you please tell me whether you got one NOA for both AOS and EAD or separate ones?
I have got the I-797 C NOA which has only EAD mentioned under case type.
So NOA date over here refers to the date on the NOA for AOS,,right??

Thanks Jezz for all the clarification..:-)
AOS INTERVIEW
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Well people above have already jotted down the documentation requirement.
I had almost all of the above mentioned documents with me but you know what..my approver was probably in a rush or may be too easy going!!
Apart from the photographs she did not ask for any other documents. Not even our birth certificates!
Moreover, i spent 200 bucks getting the entire medical done since I applied for my AOS in the 12th month from my medical in home country..but she told me that the medical was also not required.
Its always good and safe to be hundred percent prepared but if you have an interviewer like ours at the end of ething you will feel oh I pulled my hair to hard stressing out!!
Be Calm and All the Best!!
