  1. Caybee - I totally remember that episode too! Someone was stationed in Greenland??? They had the proxy wedding in the family's living room.... I feel old.

That's it. Richie married Lori Beth by proxy -- I think the Fonz stood in for Richie. Ack, I didn't even look that up.

Well everybody he's talked to in Egypt, even and attorney says proxy marriage is the fastest and best way.

Have you met in person yet? If not, as M4E said, Your petition won't make it past USCIS.

But that meeting in person is for fiancee visa, right? This would be spousal visa.

  3. Altho we would love to give you a timeline it unfortunately doesn't work like that. There are no fast or furious answers to applying in Egypt or in the states!

If you want to live in Egypt then I suggest going for the DCF. Our process lasted a year and we did a DCF.

This process is neither easy nor fast.

    Good luck!

Tell me, did you live in Egypt a year and then move to USA? Or what?

  4. Our process lasted a year and we didn't do DCF. Really no such thing as a short cut when it comes to Cairo.

Oh and take this advice...don't listen to ppl who know someone who knows someone whose cousin went through immigration.

    What's a DCF?

  5. Depends on your service center in the US. California or Vermont?

    no service center yet

The service center is determined by your state of residence in the USA. Please read the guides.

Thanks to you both for trying to help, but service center location wasn't my question.

  6. Faster spouse visa? Apply in Egypt after 6 months residence, or apply from USA?

How long would it take for each?

Other fast (HOW LONG?) options to meet, marry and be together?

    THANKS!

There's two options for people to marry and be together: DCF in which the US citizen is a resident of their spouse's country and files directly in the country itself or the other way, in which the US citizen remains in the US and files from there. Read the DCF forum for a better understanding of how that works.

How long would it take? Nobody knows for sure how long the process takes.

It's a simple question: I just asked which was faster, or if there is even a faster option.. i can never find info here easily that's why i ask at the forum, and the time does not have to be exact.

  7. i POSTED QUESTIONS PREVIOUSLY AND GOT NO answers, that's the deal...

    the most recent ones were

    1. how long from time visa stuff is sent to Casa to interview and

    2. do i have to actually send my original birth certificate, divorce papers, etc.... it seems so strange to let the originals go so many miles...

    dreams come true

thx for all you who did respond this time

  8. Good news.. after being in admistrative processing and my calling several times, and emailing, my case was sent to conuslate yesterday.

How long until his interview (approx)?

I need to know so I send stuff to him .. and do they have to be originals?

    (like financial statements)

    THANKS!
