    Hello everyone!

My wife and I will be filing our I-751 this February and really need help on how to write the affidavit (format, etc.) for friends and family members attesting that our marriage is true and bonafide.

I would appreciate any help that will be offered.

Thank you so much for your time.

  2. Hi everyone!

I would just like to ask what are the seminars that my wife needs to attend to here in Manila, Philippines before leaving for the US... does it also include "Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar" (PDOS) along with the guidance and counseling seminar??? OR would the guidance and counseling seminar be enough???

    Please help...

    Thanks!

p.s. she already has a sticker from CFO on her passport and a CFO guidance and counseling certificate stapled to her passport as well. Does she only need those? Thank you so much!

  3. Hi everyone!

I would just like to ask what are the seminars that my wife needs to attend to before leaving for the US... does it still include "Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar" (PDOS) along with the guidance and counseling seminar??? OR would the guidance and counseling seminar be enough???

    Please help...

    Thanks!

  4. I had just finished doing an CR-1 visa/petition for my wife here in Manila. You have to be a permanent resident here in the Philippines for them to allow you to file here. I got everything done and got the visa for my wife in 6 months. :) hope this helps.

    Hi baldoako,

The USC should be residing here in Manila Philippines for at least 6 months right for him to start filing though DCF? How do you handle the Affidavit of Support?

    Thanks,

    Kim

Hi Kim! That's right...and he must have documents from the immigration stating that he is a permanent resident here in the philippines. Re: affidavit of support - i just got a joint sponsor. And i made sure that I had received a job offer from the US before the US interview. That really helped a lot!!!

  5. Hi everyone! My wife has already passed the interview, and we got her visa already. I would just like to know is the envelope supposed to be cut at the top right corner exposing the documents? I am so careful about this "envelope" but I would just like to know if it does arrive like this for everyone else as well.... especially for the ones in Manila. The envelope itself is SEALED, but again - the right corner part is EXPOSED...I sure hope that's intentional.

    Let me know guys.

    Thanks!

  6. It would be good to bring all the emails... that's what I did. Regarding the pictures, just put them in a 3R album... that would do... you could bring a lot if you want, but the consulate officer who did our interview just took a look at one album.... just be prepared. you don't need to bring the larger albums.... it wouldn't make a difference and they're a hassle to bring. hope this helps...

    God bless.

  7. Yeah..... I feel the same way. When my wife was about to be interviewed, I was on this forum a lot....and it did create a lot of stress on my part because I'm reading so much info, and PROBLEMS - for that matter. But it's been very helpful. The only suggestion I can make is to try to relax - see a movie, do something fun. And then the days will just pass by. Also, if something bothers you, post it immediately so you can get answers. That's how I dealt with it, and again, Im so grateful for this forum!!!!

    God bless you!

  8. The original birth certificates, police clearance and NBI must be originals and must be presented for the interview. Parts 1 and 2 of DS 230 are also submitted on the day of interview. Sign part 1, and then part 2 will be signed during the interview.

My wife told me that she signed the DS-230 part 2 in front of the PRE-INTERVIEWER and not the US consulate.... but it was still signed.... and then it was not brought up anyomore by the US Consulate.

    Hope this helps.

  9. Hello! I would just like to know if there's anyone out there who has finished their interview (and passed), yet did not sign the DS-230 form part 2..... the US Consulate interviewer (Manila) did not mention anything about this....nor did he ask to sign anyforms. so I figured it's okay. Anyone there had the same experience?

    Thanks.....

  10. To All the VJers,

Thank you so much for all the assistance.... my wife got her visa approved today after her interview at the Manila US Embassy. Our appointment time was 630AM and we were finished by 930AM.... the pre-interviewer was very nice and helpful, and the US consulate was extremely friendly.

This forum has been very helpful for me... thank you so much again to all!

    God is faithful!

  11. Hello Everyone!

My wife will be having her interview next week at the US Embassy in Manila.

For those who have gone through the interview process, can you assist me with the step by step procedure that happens in the embassy so that we can come there fully prepared.

Any link or suggestions where to find it will truly be appreciated.

Thank you very much, fellow VJers!

    God bless....

  12. Hi everyone!

I would just like to ask something about the affidavit of support of my JOINT SPONSOR.

She filed jointly with her spouse on her tax returns. Should she write the ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME on the affidavit of support which includes her husband's income? (We are not using her husband's income, though).

I think that this is what I should write, since that's the reason why their asking for her W-2 forms as well, am I correct here? Please advise.

  13. Well, of course she will need her Philippine Passport.

Of course she won't have her passport. It was taken during the medical and is already inside the consulate.

I recommend ID in her maiden name + marriage document.

Thank you so much for all the information. That's what I will do - I will just get a marriage certificate handy with a valid ID so that there will be no problem. Thank you so much again! MANNNNN, I LOVE THIS FORUM!!! it's just sooooo helpful!!!! Thanks again everyone!!!

  14. Hi everyone!

Question again..... I've read in this forum that the APPOINTMENT LETTER and a VALID ID are needed in order to enter the US embassy.

What are examples of these VALID IDs?

My wife and I just got married and she does not have an ID that bears my last name. Anyone there who has experienced this, and what was done?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

  15. Hello everyone! I would like to ask for help for those who have finished their visa interview already in Manila. I would just like to know the step by step process so that I could be really prepared. For example, what are the things they would ask for at the gate, at the first window, etc.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! My interview date is on the first week of April.

Also, if there was a thread about this, could you lead me to that link? Thank you so much everyone!

    God bless all of you!

  16. I'm not sure why you did not get a medical schedule because it should also appear on your appointment interview letter.

You do not need to schedule at St. Luke's, however, they would look for the appointment letter. My wife's schedule for medical exam was supposed to be on 26th of March, but she was allowed to take it today.

As long as you have the appointment letter, you can have your medical exam done anytime.

Also, contact the Manila US embassy to know when your medical exam is scheduled. You can also check the US embassy website..... just enter your CASE NUMBER there and you will find out when your scheduled med exam will be, along with the visa interview.

    Hope this helps.

  17. My wife had her medical today at St. Luke's, and was asked to come back tomorrow for the results.

She was not vaccinated, though. She was told that she must wait for her menstruation first before she can get immunized, to make sure that she is not pregnant. Her pregnancy test was negative, by the way. She is due to have her period anytime next week.... the problem is, our interview is sometime next week.

I'm not so sure what the deal is here. But she was assured that the results of her medical exam will be released tomorrow. I'm just wondering, if they will release the results tomorrow, it would and it should say there that she's not immunized yet - and that could cause a problem, right?

I will clarify this tomorrow with the people there..... but is there anyone here who had the same experience?

    Thanks.....
