  1. Thanks!

Read through the forums and had some info titled OVERSEAS ORDERS. I also asked USCIS.

They said when filing the AOS to include the I-131 to leave the U.S while waiting for the travel paperwork or green card. This can take up to 6 months.

Another route is to have her fly Space A with me as my dependent. I checked this out with the Aerial Port here. And before we leave file the AOS/EAD.

I have one more stop to inquire and it's in the Family Readiness Center here, on friday. I'll update with that as well.

IF ANYBODY HERE READS THIS AND HAS ANY CREDIBLE COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS PLEASE ADD.

    Thanks!!

    Marvis

Marvis, first of all, thank you for your service to this country. We all owe you a debt of gratitude.

How long are you going to be in Okinawa? IIRC, the visa is good for 6 months, so your fiance could stay in her home country while you're in Japan, and then she can come when you're back.

Thanks, I enjoy basically serving people like you.

My tour in Okinawa will be long, 3-4 years. I have a plan.

I'm not full of answers, but I think members of the Armed Forces can apply for expedited processing. Search for that phrase in the forums and I'm sure you will have some ideas.

    Good luck, L.

I did an extensive read. THANKS!

  2. Hello,

I'm also a US military spouse (Air Force) and a British Citizen. My husband is based here in Germany and we did DCF (CR1 visa) from here. I entered the US to validate my visa in January and I will be here in Germany until December. There is no problem with your being out of the US due to your husband's military orders, but you should ensure you are included on these orders (not sure OP if you are coming to Germany from the US or from England? - you do not need a US passport to be flown on the military's expense, but you do need to be on the orders when he PCS-es.)

Just been reading this thread late in the game........

Would flying Space-A with dependent I.D work as well?

Also, I'm in that situation as well. My orders will be cut before my fiancee and I will get to be married. Or do you think there is a possible way outbound assignments can change them to reflect your (now) wife to be your dependent?

    Thanks!

    Marvis

  3. Hey guys,

I got some new news this morning and thought of this place being the first to inquire about my situation.

    Here's the situation:

I filed for K-1 in March and like all the other march filers (at this point) my fiancee recieved a medical appointment/interview date which is on 10 Sept 07, with everything going nice and smooth. Here's the conflict: I'm in the U.S Air Force and had orders going to FT Richardson Alaska, as of today I just found out I'm getting diverted to Kadena, Okinawa (overseas) with the report no later date of Sept 30.

What steps can I take for her to follow me to Okinawa? Is it possible? What would you do in this situation, or have you been in this situation or know of someone who's been through this.

Again, I haven't checked anywhere else YET. I thought of this community because you guys are full of answers.

    Please help me out.

    Marvis

  4. HAHAHAHA, now another rude woman at the DOS told me it left the NVC on July 16th...man this is screwed up!

'Sir they have the electronic file but not the paper file'

    'So what does this mean?'

'It means we can see it in the computer sir but can't do anything else'

Christ, where do they find these people?? Is it too much to ask for them to take a class or two in customer service?

Cool, you got status! Good thing you're persistent. Top 5 trait of a petitioner. Did you get the case number?

  5. Hi everybody,

Well, I called the DOS today, and they told me that we have an interview and medical date/time finally! Whew. My baby panda will have an interview September 10th at 0730am with her medical on August 30th.

Anyone else here with the same dates as ours?

Thanks to everyone for all the help and support here at VJ. Thank you, God. And, good luck to us all!

Just found out that my fiancee's got an interview date on Sept 10, same day. Keep in touch

  6. I've been wondering the same thing, too. I sent them an email, since they said that's their preferred means of communication, but I'm not sure what's going on. My NOA2 says that they'll be contacting me, but when?

Well 2 friends of mine that already have pack3 and are further than that, told me they did not call NVC .It all went automaticly.I actually read somewhere that if nothing has happend 30 days after the approvel then to call the NVC.

I also wonder if you get an Email notification saying that it was sent to NVC?? Did any of you guys out there get anything like that?

All my approvals came late and I had to call and find out for myself. Especially the USCIS where I found out 15 days after the approval. I called the NVC immediately after that and got the reciept/case number.

Goes to show, by all means call the NVC.

  7. I surely hope that information is not correct. I mean on the average most fiance petitions take about 6-8 months. I guess one thing you can do is look at people's timelines and see how long it took before NVC got their papers after the NOA2.. good luck elmira.. i hope i my NOA2 this week or next week.. thanks..

Looks like you're over the 70 day mark. Start calling USCIS RFE line....you guys are approaching. Good luck!

  8. NOA2 on June 16 (saturday) called using RFE trick. touch today was because its being sent to NVC!!!1

You guys are genuises. All this time I've got no touches nor updates via emai/uscis website. Eigthy-five days out, I used the RFE trick and found out we got approved back in June 5th.

    JUNE FIFTH!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I feel like a big horse's PAHTOOT!

    Thanks guys!

I'm going to stop screaming in my office/ punching the air....and update my timeline.

Good luck and god bless to everyone else.

    -Marvis

  9. I am glad to announce my approval and am somewhat saddened because I know there are people who have applied before me that are still waiting..I had no touches, just an approval e-mail at 10:30 eastern time stating our approval...Actually I got 2 e-mails...strange??? Anyways...on to the next step..I am planning on going to the interview..so hopefully the rest will go well..Thanks to everyone here and their help...its always nice sharing with people in the same situation..

Woo hoo! Congrats and good luck on the rest of the way.

  10. Calling them is so much fun. At least the guy I spoke to was nice...clueless...but nice.

I called CSC (via USCIS RFE line) and I was told that they are processing Nov 2006 cases

The lady I talked to knew nothing it seems - she did look up something on the computer as I could hear keying sounds. I told her that some of my friends from March have already got their approvals. She said, No - we are processing Nov 2006 cases only. so frustrating - privatise USCIS - beaurocracy is a failure.

It's as if they have the same limited capabalilties as us. That, or they're just reading of something in verbetim (my experience CSC as well). Frustrating.

On a positive note, it's good how the curve is breaking for March filers though. Congrats to those who received their NOA2s already, and good luck to those who are still waiting.

  11. sweet potato (a texture and flavor that don't mix)

popcorn flavoured jelly bellies (same as above)

    overcooked green beans (squeeky food)

    well done steak

Chain Restaurants (note: have you noticed the freshness of the of the food in the P.I?)

oh yeah, and the obvious not sitting across from my fiancee during each solitary meal these past 3 months.

HAHA, this waiting has allowed me a lot of practice for preparing food/dishes.

    cool post!

  12. hi everyone!i need some help coz im already worried. my fiance has received the NOA1 last Mar.20,2007 and it was first touched last march 23.but until now, it has never been touched again.what does it mean?do i need to worry now?

Nope, no reason to worry. Read some of these timelines. You can see it is about 3 months to get the NOA2 or an RFE. You are 30 days in, wait 60 and then worry.

    Bobbie

    Bobbie,

What actions do you suggest after 60 days and no touches? I'm getting worried myself.

    Marvis

  13. The wait is getting harder each day I look at the calendar. My petition has been "setting" for around 72 days now and I can't believe we will have to wait up to three more months or more! I am heading off to Bangkok in four weeks for a seven day visit. I can't wait!!! But alas, I know that I will have to return and go into the "waiting mode" for many more weeks. But I know that every day that passes by on the calendar is one more day closer to being with my love.

    Hang in there everyone!

Bro, I think everyone needs a good pre-NOA2 trip to see their fiance(e). I too can't wait for my trip (#2), been counting down to those days. My parents will be there. Can you say "meet the fockers"?

  14. Been going to the gym, running, reading, writing songs....

What are you guys doing to pass the time? Just asking, because we're all probably at least to the half way point till the NOA2.

Here's a product of my waiting, patience, dispair till I'm together with my fiancee:

    www.myspace.com/myfavouriteeverything

let me know what you think?

  15. The average wait time right now the the CSC is 98 days for K1 visas based on the timeline of other VJ'rs. Remember, the average is 98 days, some will come before and some after.

Keep yourself busy, you have a long wait ahead of you until your fiancee can get her visa.

Does that mean after the NOA2? Or when the Service Center is actually looking at it?

MEI: what is the difference? The SC will look at it for aprox 15 minutes and issue NOA2.

The 98 days is waiting for YOUR 15 minutes of fame.

    thanks, totally makes sense now.
