  1. Well today I had the Oath ceremony and GLAD every thing ended after years upon waiting and struggle.  There were 1003 people attended from 89 countries. Tim Walz the governor was there gave a speech for all the citizen. I went there little early around 8.45 (appointment was at 9.45) to make sure i have parking and the ceremony actually started around 10.15 (River center St Paul) . Little bit wait but its so Worth it. They will give you the application to register to vote and the application for the passport and to make an appointment with the passport office. I changed my name and they will give you the certificate of name change with the Naturalization certification. Im glad this whole process came to an end and I wish you guys all the best. I know its killing to WAIT, but at the end ,that time is so worth the WAIT. GOOD LUCK and THANK YOU for this Thread.

  2. Question for those that have already had their interviews, for the writing portion of the interview, do they tell you the sentence you need to write, or do you copy it off of something? My husband is sort of having a panic attack about spelling. Is spelling a huge deal?

They ask me to write "We pay Tax" on a Ipad. That's all. Reading was when is the Columbus day ? ( Popped up on the IPAD to read out loud)

    Easy Peasy,

  3. Hey there. I m not sure if they accept turbo tax. ( they should) I have a kid and they asked me her original birth certificate ( i already submitted a copy of the birth certificate when i filled) . I took all the original documents i attached when i apply n400 except the 2018 TAX since it was new. Asked me if i have the selective service letter but they didn't take it.  Other than that it was pretty straight forward.

Congratulations! May I asked when did you file 2018 tax? I filed march 18 and now when I logged onto my IRS account it’s yet to be up there, still no information received. The account transcript (the payment we made) showed up there though. Thank you!

    Hey Thanks,

I filled my Taxes on March 13 (turbo tax) . I would take any information you have to prove you filled and you dont owe any tax. Thats what they looking for. Also if you have the interview date before April 15 you should be fine but if you have it after you definitely make sure to have that information with you for the interview.

    Oath date - waiting

Went to the interview yesterday had it at 9.00 in the morning. I went there little early around 8.15 and checked in and got a number. Called in around 9.15 for the interview and verified all the details i already included on the application. Asked me am i changing my name and the signature. I said yes to change my name but not the signature. Asked me if i owe any taxes and i said no and asked me if i filled for 2018 taxes. I had the tax transcript for 2018 and gave to her. Asked me 6  random civic questions.  Easy ones.  All together I had the interview is for 15 to 20 min.  Interviewer gave me a letter stating she recommended me for the approval and i should hear back for the final approval. When i checked the case update i saw the case was approved and the ceremony estimated for 5 months which i doubt is going to be that long.

    Good luck plp.
