It's definitely a tough 'grey area' as apparently the EAD can take up to around 11 months currently... So I'm struggling as I have been unable to open a bank account without it, unable to get a drivers licence, and obviously not being able to earn money either. My bank accounts at home want me to close the accounts as I am no longer living there, and same with my mobile phone contract being cut as I have been away from the country for too long. 
Already been waiting over half a year for the EAD/Adjustment of status.

Went to the DMV and was told  that my nonimmigrant status (I-94) has expired, even while I am waiting for my I-485 to be adjudicated, which I applied for while the I-94 was still valid. What is my current immigration status?

The DMV cannot issue a driver's license as my I-94 says it's expired and I am worried about my status.

I have also been unable to open a bank account locally as I still haven't been given an SS number.
I applied for the work permit and AP documents concurrently with my I-485.

Appreciate any help or advice!

I don't suppose you or anyone knows if my lack of employment previous to the current year is an issue? Should I write an additional statement explaining I was a student? Or will I need to state somewhere else. As it asks for 5 years...

Completely missed that! Thanks a lot  I just assumed they needed my passport information somewhere but that's the only place they seem to request it.

No, I live in the UK. 
I have recently been to visit the US for just over a week on a visa waiver to see my fiancée who is a US citizen and resident. Back in the UK now.

It asks for occupation - so I thought this would include being a student. But then contradicts by asking for employer details. Thanks for your reply though!

Hi, I'm currently filling in my parts in the I-129F K1 fiancé visa application form.
It asks for employment details of the beneficiary over the last 5 years. I have only been working for one year in an unpaid internship (the latest year) and had a gap of a year before that, were I was unemployed taking care of a sick relative. Further before that I was a university student for the remainder of the years. 
Do I list 'Full time student' as my occupation? and what do I do about the gap?

Also I'm struggling to find the difference between what 'Passport number' and what 'Travel document' numbers is, as I have listed my passport number but I am asked for both, I thought it was the same thing?

REALLY appreciate any help or advice!
