We actually just heard the same thing a couple days ago. We are so sad because it means that we probably won't be interviewed until September since I've seen people being scheduled for August already. Maybe I'm wrong but that's my current theory. Hang in there though! We should all have our visas soon :)

A larger concern at the moment is what while we can get started on the medical and everything while we wait, the cost we were quoted here in Perth was 'up to $1200' depending on how many blood tests they need to do. Considering my fiance doesn't have her vaccination records I shudder to think what the total cost will be when all is said and done.

Yeah you're probably right, sometime in September, early October at the latest I hope. Ouch that is a lot of money for the medical! Can she get her records from her doctor to see if she already has some of the vaccinations and stuff?

My fiance and I are still waiting for our Interview Date but we are confident we will get it soon! It's been about a week since we got our Packet 3 and filled out the DS-160 and paid the fee. We e-mail them with all the info they requested by we still haven't heard anything yet. Does it normally take quite so long?

We just heard back after paying and filling the DS-160 and got put on a waitlist for our K1 through the Sydney consulate, wondering ourselves how long it takes from waitlist to an actual date. I guess they must be pretty busy.

Hmm.  So they said it would be sent directly from Montreal to Sydney?  I'm surprised it would not be returned to NVC first, actually, and then sent out with their regular DHL batches.

No way to track what hasn't been sent, so I guess try Sydney on Monday?

Honestly I have no idea if they send it directly or to the NVC first. I emailed Sydney about transferring in May and they said they contacted and requested the file from Montreal. I'm not sure if transfers are sent directly or back to NVC first.

No.  The case numbers issued by NVC are consulate-specific, with 3 letter prefixes that identify the consulate.

Have you contacted the Montreal consulate to see if they sent the petition back to NVC to be processed for transit to Sydney?

Yes, they were of no help and told me to email Sydney, which I already have been doing several times. Can I ask them for a mailing # to track their package or something? Sydney also told me to email them by July 5th if I hadn't heard from them regarding my case, so I did, and they told me a week ago they haven't received the file yet. And now it's July 19th and I'm thinking of sending another email but it's the weekend in Australia and I'm pretty sure they're closed.

  5. Our case was "ready" in Canada but my beneficiary had to move back to Australia so we requested a transfer. It's been 2 months and when I emailed the Sydney embassy they told me they hadn't received our file yet. Is this normal?

We haven't gotten to fill DS-160 or go for the medical because we don't know if we get a new case number after the transfer and are afraid to use the Canadian one because we don't know if they require a specific one to the country you're taking the medical in.

Also our I-129F is going to expire soon and Sydney hasn't even received our file yet. Do I send an email asking for revalidation regardless?

Can we fill out the DS-160 with our Canadian case # while we wait for transfer?

Can we do the medical with the Canadian case #?

    This is all so stressful

    Thanks for reading

  6. Hello, we have just received our NOA2 and are very excited to continue the process! But I'm worried about them sending the package to the wrong consulate because my Fiancée, who is currently on a work visa, has to return to her home country within 30 days.

I am a US resident, and the beneficiary is Australian who is in Canada on a work visa. I just received the NOA2 yesterday. The NOA2 says it will take them 2-4 weeks to process and create a case number before they send it to the consulate. She has to return to Australia within 30 days. Do I change her address with the NVC to her Australian one since she will be leaving in just under 30 days?

I've done some research and people say to wait until our case number is created, but by then won't the package be sent to the wrong consulate?

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it so much, thank you for reading.
