  1. Hi group!

I am awaiting consular processing in Canada filed Jan 2019 to follow my greencard husband to the US.  I know it will be a while until my interview and visa come through.  I would like to visit him for a few months then move to a new location in Canada so wont really have ties to show in my current town in Canada.  I do have travel and accommodations booked for this new town in Canada in June. From what i understand, the fact that i have to leave the US to visit consulate in Montreal for interview guarantees i will leave the US at some point so i am not a risk to apply for adjustment of status from inside US.  I also understand an I130 cannot be change to an I140 so that is not risk for CBP.  I have money saved in the bank to show I can support my self for months and, of course my husband works in the US so we can sustain.

Our immigration lawyer said it was ok for me to attempt to cross to visit and that is about all he had to say on the matter.  Does anyone have any experience on what i can provide CBP to help them feel at ease that i will return to Canada and not overstay my visitor visa?  Or, does anyone have any experience in this crossing attempt going poorly and what could be done differently.  I am going to tell the CBP the whole background and story and ask for their help as they are the experts, is this smart?

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read and comment.  I just really need to see my husband as it has been over a year and he does not have vacation he can take to visit me.
