Thank you for all your responses. I think I didn't make it clear that I have the notarized Birth Certificate. My question is since it's very old, more than 20 years, will it be treated as a valid document or do we have to get an updated notarization to support my sister's application?

I'm planning to submit an application for my sister's sibling immigration. 23 years ago, we got notaries that prove our relationship with our (same) parents and an additional notary to prove our sibling relationship back to 2002. All these notaries was prepared by the city public office which was administered by the government. I'm wondering are these notaries still valid? My sister is a Canadian citizen and we have very few chances to go back to our birthplace. Thank you.

I and my husband are applying my parents to US. Recently, I received a letter from the NVC indicating 'sponsor's income indicated on the I864A line 11 does not correspond to that shown on the most recent tax return and W2'
My questions on I864A are
1, 'line 10 - My current individual annual income is:'
which income it refers to?
A. Annual salary on W2
B. total income which include interests, dividend, alimony and unemployed compensation etc
C. adjusted gross income
2. I864A line 11 - total income (ajusted gross income on 1040 tax return) for the last three years
Since my husband files I864A and I file I864, the adjusted gross income on the tax return is the amount for both of us. Do we need to calculate each individual's adjusted income and indicate that separately on i864/i864A? If so, that sounds complicated and how to do that?
Anyone who familiars with I864/I864A please help. Many thanks.

Many thanks to amykathleen2005 and Jason_do.
Jason said 'The couple sponsor will be count as 1 AOS if they live in the same household', I don't quite understand what's that '1 AOS', Would you explain? Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I need some help in preparing the I-864 for my parent's immigration. I am a US citizen and work P/T only. With my husband's salary, originally, we can well sponsor my parents. However, my husband lost his job last year and now still unemployed. In 2010, my family income was 25K which is below the required 28K required by a household size of 4 (125% of poverty line). We don't have children. My questions are:
1. Now, my husband is not a good choice as a sponsor. Is it better to find another person instead of him as a sponsor?
2. how many sponsors can I submit (besides my husband)? In my mind, only two sponsors are allowed including myself. If I can find a couple who is capable to sponsor, will this couple be treated as one sponsor or two sponsors?
3. Do sponsors must be my relatives? I saw item 8 in I-864A relationship to sponsor, options are limited to spouse, daughter/son, parent, brother/sister and other dependent. However, my impression tells me that friends can be sponsors too.
4. To my new sponsor(s), what qualified annual income/asset I should looking for?
Please give advices, I very appreciate it.

Thank you Darnell. The link is quite helpful. It shows different people has quite different timeline in terms of NVC receives documents and complete with cases. Is there an official timeline available or a site which is able to check application status? Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I submitted by mail of DS230 forms and all required documents for my parents' applications(IR-5)two weeks ago. Can anyone share experience for how long to get response from the NVC? and what is the next procedure? Thank you.

I am a US citizen and is sponsoring my parents' immigration. In part 2 item 2 of I864, I need to indicate who's the principal immigrant. Does it mean I need to choose one of my parent to be the primary beneficiary? If so and if I choose my mother to be the primary, then in my father's submitting case, I still need to fill in my mother's name in item 2 instead of my father's?
I like to confirm that. Please help, thank you.
