I have less than 4 months left for my "estimated" case completion time. I applied in June 2018, and they did my biometrics in July of 2018. My case started counting down in July 2018, so now it's showing 4 months left. I called the USCIS today to ask if this was correct, and the woman  I spoke to told me that it is currently a 17 to 21 month wait time, leaving me with at least 12 MORE months, not 4. She basically said that they're currently working on cases from 2017.

When I did my biometrics in 2018, several people working in there told me it would be about a year (meaning my case would be done in July of this year). I've seen people in Seattle that applied around the same time I did (maybe a few months earlier than I did) who already have their test/interview set up, and a few who have completed everything. I'm just wondering if the woman that I talked to today is wrong, as I said, I've seen people who applied early-mid 2018 (or some late 2017) that have interviews and oaths scheduled or completed. This woman today got me worried.

I spoke to USCIS briefly about it and they said it could have happened because I updated my address which counts as a hit on the application. We'll just see whenever I actually get an interview!

Did you move to a different county or state? Were there ever any snags in your case regarding the paperwork? 

While I was waiting for my visa the only thing that delayed it was extra paperwork they wanted and having to correct a few things I wrote down incorrectly.

It's saying my case should be completed by this July. That's more or less what my question was, if it says it should be completed by that time, does that mean everything should be done - interview and oath? Does "case completion" mean you've received your citizenship and handed in your green card?

Does that mean everything should be done within the next four months? Like, if it says (estimated completion) July 2019, does that mean my case should be completed and closed by July (oath and all)? Providing there are no snags or glitches, of course. 

I'm just curious, because there hasn't been any update since they reviewed my biometrics in July of 2018, and this July isn't that far away. My biometrics appointment was scheduled for a few weeks after they received my application, so my last update was on 07/11/18
