Try Korean Airlines. Can connect through Dallas. Immigration in Dallas is very light.  I think is cheaper to go to the Philippines from the USA. I'm going to Cebu in a couple of weeks and the fare was less than $900, with minimal layover time. Also, doing the same over Thanksgiving. Same price.

Ahh, already booked. Got $1500 for my round trip and $1300 for her one way. Terrible. I've flow round trip there many times in business class for 2K. Our POE is JFK.

I am from Naples. My fiancé ticket from Manila to Fort Lauderdale was a little less than $1,000 and that was a one way ticket, just a few weeks ago on Delta. Flying her into Fort Lauderdale was $200 cheaper than flying her to SWFL. So maybe check different airports.

Sounds like a good idea. I tried Sarasota, Orlando, St Petersburg and Tampa, but the prices were relatively the same. I never thought about going that far south.

Age shouldn't be an issue at all.

I am not surprised, even with your fiancee being 35, at CFO focusing on your past marriages.    She just needs to convince to CFO that she knows you and your past and all is good.    CFO tries way to hard to be an OVERBEARING mother .. highly annoying at times.

Yes, she has it handled now. They won't be able to intimidate her since she can cover any questions they ask.

    Wish us luck!

Do you make sure to clear your browser of cookies between searches.  Maybe even use different browsers.   Search history can have an effect on results.

Have your fiancee check, the search coming from a Philippine IP address could change the results also.

Hmmmm... Never thought of that. Ok, will do.

Ah ... yes for sure CFO is going to focus on all your past marriages.  She brought copies of your three divorce decrees to CFO?  They, very likely, are going to grill her about your marriages ... she best be prepared; she will need to know the why for the divorces (but then that should have been something you both discussed already in reality).

How old is your fiancee .. that can have a bearing also?

Yes, she had copies. They grilled her the first time. We discussed the details prior to her CFO appointment. But now she has it all more committed to memory than I do. I'm trying to forget it all. Lol!

    She is 35.

Look at round trip tickets also (they can be cheaper at times) .. you can cancel the return flight part of the ticket after your fiancee is in the USA  ;)

I've tried that. My ticket from Tampa to Manila, round trip was $1700 and her one way ticket was $1800-2200

Yes your fiancee needs to get the consult handled.  Did CFO mention any "additional documents" ?

    https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/cfo.html

I posted a few months ago that they had issue with my 3 previous marriages and she was very nervous at the 1st meeting. So they didn't give her the cert and told her to come back once she gets the visa for final Consult. They didn't ask for anything else.

  8. 1 hour ago, Hank_ said:

As noted by others, the visa is in the passport.   The DO NOT OPEN envelope having a cut corner is normal, it needs to be protected (so it doesn't tear, and you don't lose it) .. I would suggest keeping it in the plastic and in the carry-on bag as it will be needed immediately at POE.

Did your fiancee get her certificate from attending the CFO-GCP seminar?  If not then you will need to attend the final "consult", if she has the certificate all that is needed is to head over to CFO with the passport w/visa  and get the CFO sticker affixed in the passport ... then she is ready to travel.     Your fiancee is not leaving without the sticker.

You are not required to get the SS card immediately, but you can, just head down to SSA with her passport, copy of the I-94 from online at CBP and the SS5 form completed.

Lastly once married you will complete Adjustment of Status.

Hank, she did not get the CFO cert. She has to have a final Consult. I assume we have to schedule the consult. All the other steps seem pretty simple.

    Thank you!

    Another flight option (Aug. 13):

    China Eastern Manila-Shanghai (10 hour layover)-JFK(New York) $664.

You could fly up to meet her.  Overnight at JFK.

    Aug.14:

    Delta JFK-Tampa $129.

This has two long lay-overs, but gets the cost down to $793.  If you wanted, you could even see New York for a couple of days before going to Tampa.

Those are good ones. Thank you very much!

How long does it take to see any progress on the visa status? I got approved on Thursday, July 25th. I just checked and it still says No Status.

We got approved on July 18th. She was in line 65. Line 60 group had an "issued" status the same day. We had "issued" status on the 22nd. We picked up our Visa on the 25th. I had my fiance to go to the 2go office because we couldn't track the package and it was there.

Hopefully you will have the same experience..

Hopefully you found the VISA in the passport.   If not you need to contact the embassy.  Once you have that she needs to go back to the CFO to get the sticker.

www.google.com/flights is a good resource for finding cheap flights.  Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a roundtrip or to book the international segment separately from the domestic.    I did quick search and found $909 and the 12th if august.

The cut corners are normal for the packet.

Get the SSN a few weeks after she gets there if possible.   It makes life a bit easier.

FIle the AOS after you get married and don't forget to file the Report of Marriage at the Filipino consulate.

I've looked everywhere and the tickets or only cheaper with VERY long layovers. I'll take a look at the one you found. Thank you for the information. Visa was located. 😊

  12. Hello all. Firstly, I want to thank everyone for the help I, as many others, have received here on the site. I couldn't have done it without you. I initially hired an attorney but bailed on him because I was getting better, quicker info here. I had to wait three weeks to hear back from him. Nevertheless, We received our K1visa on Thursday via 2go, and are ready to travel! Except the flights are unbelievably high right now... I have a few questions about the final process that I need help with.

We never received our CFO cert because they required my Fiance to return after getting her visa for a final consult. My first question is, how will they see the visa if it's in the manila packet that cannot be opened?

Also, they sent all our paperwork back with the packet as well and there is an opening at the corner of the packets. Is that normal?

Lastly, is there a topic here, on the site that outlines the process that should be taken once we arrive back in the US? I read that we should immodestly get her SS card, before marriage but what else should be Done and in what order?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

I am currently waiting for my PCC from Lebanon. I applied through the London Embassy and they said it can take up to 3-4 months. Did you apply in Lebanon directly through a Lebanese lawyer? Hopefully you get it soon! I also need a PCC from Iraq from my old job... I'm stressed about that one!

We applied directly through the lawyer. She advertised that she could get the PCC done in 7 days, but it actually took her three weeks. Then she sent it to us via registered mail and we are still waiting, months later. Make sure to use DHL to get it back. Registered mail is horrible.

It means SLEC sent the medical results directly to the embassy.  This  is the standard procedure for individuals going through the sputum process

Fyi, the visa expiration will be based on the date of the first day of the medical.   You have six months from that day.   Clock is ticking

Awesome news! Yes, we are looking to close everything out with our July 18th interview.

    Thank you.

  15. Hello All, I am the fiancé of a wonderful Filipina princess (to me). We have been going through the long arduous process of obtaining a K1 visa for her.

We have had many pitfalls, including a know spot on her lung that triggered the two month culture exam. Well, we finally got past that but in the meantime we have been waiting 45 days (to date) for a PCC to be returned from Lebanon. Someone on the site referred a lebanese attorney that would speed up the process. Well, $800 and 65 days later, we are still waiting on the PCC.

It's been in the mail for 45 days alone. The tracking says it's in rout to be delivered, but that been two weeks. Of course the main post office in Manila was no help, nor was the post office my fiancé's city. My question is; The attorney sent us a copy of the PCC via email. Does the PCC that we take to the interview have to be an original copy, or will a printed copy be okay?

Secondly, When she finished everything at St Lukes and got her immunizations, They only gave her a disk. No sealed folder to take to the interview. What does this mean?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

AOS is Adjustment of Status, I-485, once married (K-1), this process will allow your wife to receive a green card.

Affidavit of Support is also completed with the I-485,  this time USCIS requires the I-864

    http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/adjustment-of-status.html

This clears the mud. I thought I was missing something. We are not quite there yet. We are one of the unlucky/lucky couples cought up in the Sputum cycle. She's in Manila now on the 3rd day of testing. We knew she had a small blurry on her lung beforehand. That triggered everything.

There are two distinct AOS, one the Affidavit of Support which for a K1 case prior to them arriving in the USA was non binding (I-134) unlike when filing for the second AOS the Adjustment of Status, which is required to convert the resident alien (K1 recipient) into a lawful permanent resident once their ties to the US are established by being the immediate relative of a US citizen (their spouse). At which time the documents for this are to be gathered and submitted including the binding affidavit of support (I-864) and other evidence of a bonafide relationship between the petitioner and the beneficiary, since  payxibka is married to his bride in the USA, the AOS he's referring to was the adjustment of status.

    Perfect 👍 thank you.

Congrats,  we sent AOS paper today

Please educate me on sending the AOS papers. I know they must be taken for the interview. Must they be utilized again in the K1 process?

I read somewhere that they are needed once in the US.
