  1. Hello you all:

I have been having butterflies in my stomach since my interview has been scheduled in Cairo on the 19th of NOV

I have not read one good comment or post about the interviews in Cairo, so you can imagine what has been going on in my mind

It has been a year since I have last seen my husband and a year and half since we got married

True he came twice to Egypt but it is never enough!!!!!!!!!!!

I have hundreds of pictures in Egypt with family and in a lot of countries in Europe, I have hundreds of IMs and Emails, calling cards/ phone bills, joint medical insurance, I am not sure what else would I need

I am sooooooooooooooooo worried anyone can say anything? Any suggestions?

Good luck to all of you

  2. Click HERE for packets you will probably get from the embassy when your petition arrives there. These are actually from Poland, but are used world-wide. :) You should practice filling out and know what to do so when you do get them in the mail, you can fill them out and send back immediately.

This is a list of Example Questions that you may be asked at your interview.

    HI:

I need your help, I could not open the link for the packets to take to the Embassy for the interview . Can you please let me know how to get it as the link does not work

My interview is on Monday so pleaaaaaasssssssseeeeeee help

    Thank you

  3. Hi:

I need some help tounderstand something

We got our I129F approved, processed through the NVC in no time at all

Our DS230 has been at the US Embassy in Cyprus till now, when we inquired about the status of the case they answered that it is at the Department of Homeland Security????

I am not sure what that means, is this normal procedures?

Is this the name and background security check?

I do not understand since it has been already approved from the same department why to be returned again there

    I am really worried

    Please help

    Thank you

With whom did you make the inquiry? After the case leaves NVC, the most reliable information comes from the DOS visa information line. I would call them and see what they say. Often calling Consulates or Embassies gets you uninformed third party contract operators.

    Hi:

We made the inquiry with the Council that is handling our case at the US Embassy in Cyprus

I am just surprised that it got thrown back to the US to the same department that approved it, that is why I think it is for background security checks????

I am not sure what is the DOS visa line??? Can i Find any informations on it anywhere? Can they be Emailed?

I really do thank you and your kindness in helping me out

    Thank you

  8. Hello:

    I need some help

We finally received a case number from NVC for our I-130

Now this is my question, we have a lawyer so the DS for the agent selection does not apply

So I guess next is the AOS bill, then the DS230 generates, filled and sent and so on

I read somewhere that NVC checks the DS230 and might ask for more informations and generate an RFE

What would they actually check, what informations they might require and an RFE is based on what

As if we have some help with that may be we can avoid any delay

    Thanks for all your help

  9. Hello:

I wanted to know if anyone has dealt with the US Embassy in Cyprus?

My husband a USC and I got married in Cyprus but I am an Egyptian citizen/ resident but since K3 has to be forwarded to the country were the marriage took place it went to Cyprus

    Here is the case:

    - We got approved for both I-129F and I-130 same day on the 16th of FEB

    - Received a letter from NVC on 20 FEb that they received the I-129F and will forward the case (Also got case number)

to the US Embassy in Cyprus

    - 01 March received a letter from the Us Embassy in Cyprus, we filled the DS230 Part I and faxed it to Cyprus by the

    20th of March.

    - We never heard from them till now

Question 1: Does anyone knopw how long it takes, as I still have to get an entry visa to Cyprus (5 Business Days) and get a medical appointment and so on

    Now for the I-130

Till now the NVC did not receive anything about it

So our lawyer sent CSC an Email asking them to forward the aproved petition to NVC since last week and till now no news

Question 2: Is it true that we have to file an I-824 to proceed with the I-130 or what should we do at this point

Any shedding of light on these 2 questions will be highly appreciated

    Please help

    Thank you

  10. :help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:

Dear all VJ'rs, I am confused as hell. I'm sure this will apply to many of you who want to do things right the first time.

With I-129f & I-130 Approved on the same day, I-129f goes to the consulate and the I-130 stays at the NVC????? (That's a

    question)

Now what??? I want to see my wife asap and want her here in the US with me. Based on what I read, k-3 means I-129f?? and gets her here quicker.

Here's the big issue, many pursue k3 and leave the (cr1) i-130 ALONE. With that in mind, what the hell happens to i-130???

Can you really neglect the i-130 route and pursue k3?? Or does the USCIS require for you to submit i-130 requirements (ie., police certs, medical, packet 3 or 4 shhtuff)?? oh yeah, not to mention the additional fees???

Is it required to pursue both at the same time just to be safe??

I would hate to ignore a USCIS procedure requirement (cr1 docs and fees) with wishful thinking that my k3 will go through, and get screwed because I ignored the cr1 (i130) route.

    My compressed version timeline:

    12/6/06: I-130 Sent

    12/29/06: I-129F sent

    1/11/07: I-129f NOA1

    4/10/07: I-129f & I-130 NOA2 (Approval)

We have the same case, both aprovals received on the 16th of FEB

the I-129F which is the K3 has been sent to Cyprus (As we were married there) and contacted by the US Embassy on 01 March, faxed the 1st part of the DS230 and still never heard from them again for the interview date

the I-130 till now is not at the NVC, some of the people here seem to think that the I-130 is retained before going to the NVC as they assume that we will follow the K3 route and in order to make the transition u have to file a form and pay $200 to forward it to the NVC ( I am not sure if this is correct).

We called our lawyer who called the CSC to ask to forward the I-130 to the NVC (last week) still no movement

The I-130 aproval says that the AOS will be done at the consulate in Egypt (Since I am Egyptian) and does not say that it will be done in the uSA since it did not move yet.

    Are we in trouble???

    Help

    Thank you

I will keep posted here any progress

    Good luck to you all

  11. Hi:

I am an Egyptian resident married to a USC, we were married in Cyprus and filed for both I-130 and K3 and got them approved the same day (16 FEB 07)

Till now NVC havent heard about our I-130

But NVC forwarded our K3 application to the US Embassy in Cyprus for processing and we sent the DS I and a copy of my passport 3 weeks ago

Till now we never heard from them, I am worried as Ihave to get my Medical exams at least 2 days prior to the appointment inCyprus, and to get to Cyprus I need an anetry visa that takes a week to process in Egypt

Did anyone go through the US Embassy in Cyprus to shed some lights for me

Our lawyer sent the CSC about our aproved I-130 and they were advised that they will forward it to the NVC

    Any thoughts from anyone

    Thank you

  12. Hiya:

We received our approvals for both K3 and I-130 at the same day and since we were confused on which way to go, we called our lawyer who said that the I-130 to be processed willtake 6 to 9 months longer than the K3????????

NVC has sent a letter with a case number that our file has been sent to Cyprus for the K3 (Where we got married) though I am a resident of Egypt but looks like this is the way it is done for the K3

Anyone, has any idea on what happens next?

I e-mailed the US embassy in Cyprus this morning as I am really worried about the mail status in Cairo

So any insights so at least I will be ready as I will have to travel to Cyprus and do not want to have any surprises there? :help:

Thank you for all your help

  13. I am also very confused

We received our I-129F and our I-130 at the same day 16 FEB

Then on 01 March we received a letter from the NVC stating that they willbe forwarding the I-129 to the Cyprus Embassy where we were married though we had clearly indicated that we needed it to be processed in Egypt where I reside

If it will take a trip to Cyprus no problem but nw I see that it is better to pursue the I-130 which from what I understand from here willbe retained and we will have to file an I-824

Last question what happens after we receive a cse number from the NVC and a note that it is forwarded to the Cypriot Embassy

I am not sure what to do please help.....................

    Thank you

    This is our timeline:

    * 27 Oct. 06: I-130 notice was received with the California center

    * 18 Nov. 06:I-129 notice was received

    * 16 Feb. 07: I-130 approved

    * 16 Feb. 07: I-129 approved

    * 01 Mar. 07: Letter from NVC with a case number to be forwarded to the embassy

    Thank you
