  1. I've filed i129f for my fiance, past three years have made well over the income requirement for sponsor.. Have tax returns and irs transcripts for affidavit of support. However, this year I've been out of the county with my fiance most of the time and got pregnant and filed for Medicaid and food stamps to help with my pregnancy while I try to get back to work. By the end of the year my income should be enough for affadavit of support also even though I know I don't need to show my 2019 Income as long as interview is this year. I plan to get off food stamps and Medicaid once I'm earning my regular wage. My question is, will me being on the assistance affect my ability to be my fiances sole sponsor? Even if I make enough?

It doesn't matter if there are many answers,  the right answer is only the stamped pages.  You and I (and many others) are empirical proof

Makes sense... Haha especially if they line up with my airline itineraries and credit card charges, receipts, etc. I have three trips to Nicaragua in the past year so I'm thinking of just copying the two pages those stamps are located on. Should I provide picture and info page too for any reason?

  3. I have passport stamps matching up to my flight bookings for evidence of meeting... I threw away all boarding passes... Ugh... Anyways do I need to copy every single page of my passport, or just the pages with the stamps? I feel like sending in 30 blank pages would be ridiculous but I want to get this right the first time! Thanks in advanced

  4. I see on the web site that humanitarian crisis in the beneficiarys country can be a reason to qualify to expedite the process... My fiance is from Nicaragua and I'm sure you have heard of the caravans of migrants coming from Nicaragua, el Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala... I think it's worth a shot to at least ask... Worst case scenario... They say no... Has anyone has success with this situation? I'm also pregnant and I know that in itself isn't a reason but once the baby is here I will definitely be suffering a financial loss since I won't be able to work as much due to lack of childcare. Or I can work but childcare in southern CA is basically how much I'm going to be making at work so it doesn't really make sense. If my fiance was here, I could work as many hours as I normally do, while he was taking care of our baby. I know they seem both to be long shots, just trying to get someone else's opinion or previous experience. Thank you.

Here's a link about the situation in nica. It's old but the info is still relevant

The courier system pretty much doesn't exist in all Nicaragua. The only things I've seen are PO Boxes and expats usually are the ones that have those. Put however he would tell someone. my husband's was something like "primavera colonia 2.5 blocks north, 25 varas to the south". the folks at the embassy know that mail doesn't happen in Nicaland nor will they be sending anything via mail.

If you have any other questions shoot me a pm :)

Oh I definitely will! Once I get further into this I'm sure I will have 100 more questions. Thank you so much!

I would suggest you bring some of those letters of intent for him to sign and have those on hand just in case the one you get from him initially doesn't work since you are going there to see him anyway! Never hurts to plan/be prepared for the unexpected

My husband printed his stuff at an internet cafe and sent me the letters of intent via the closest fedex office along with some passport sized photos, though not sure that's an option since I think the only fedex location is in Managua. Bring extras to the states when he comes as you'll need them for Adjustment of Status/Greencard process. Cheaper to get them down there.

A heads up for you: he will need to plan to have his birth certificate and Singleness Certificate from Central Registry in Managua. I had my husband get 3 birth certificates to have them on hand here in the states. Can't remember if the singleness certificate has an expiration date of 6 months like the police certificate does or not.

Some other members dealing with the process may have copies of the packet 4; the embassy emailed me a copy after I requested it. Some info may have changed since 2016 on the copy i have. Don't be shy to message one of the other members dealing with Nicaragua to see if they can send you a copy.

Good luck! If you have any questions on the k1 process, let me know or someone. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and full of people willing to help where they can!

Thank you so much! And yes I am so lost and I've only just begun to fill our these forms. So many questions... Such as address?? He can't send or receive mail... I don't know what I should put for mailing address, let alone address in general. Where he lives there are no roads. No cars. Nothing. I met him while I was backpacking and was trying to get far away from the cities haha.

Hand written, dated and signed by him in English  is fine.

He then takes a photo of the ENTIRE sheet of paper and sends it you via messenger or whatever.

You then crop it down, print, and submit it with your 128-f.

Wet signstures from him are not needed for this atep.

For his convenience, after this, type up the statement, leave blank fields for date and signature, and  send him several copies.  Each time he is asked for proof of binaries rraltiinshoo he signs and dates a statement.  Letters of intent should be signed early and often.

OK awesome! Thank you for the info. They don't have mail in Nicaragua especially where he lives so I am unable to send ANYTHING. However, I am going to go see him next month and I'm going to try to bring everything that he may or may not need for the rest of the process. For the letters of intent, the standard template I've been seeing on this forum is fine, correct?

  8. Hey all, my fiance is living in Nicaragua and I'm trying to get this packet done asap, I'm pregnant... And we really want to be together as soon as we can. Anyways, where he lives he does not have access to a computer or printer. When I send in the letters of intent, can his be a handwritten and signed image he sends to me via messenger? They also don't have postal service where he lives (remote island) so this is very difficult and confusing to say the least. Any help is greatly appreciated
