  1. Thank you everyone. I am the USC. For whatever reason I thought when the NVC sent the case to Germany they would send me a bill for the ..whatever. I think I am confused with the AOS bill people are talking about. So, the case is in Germany (hopefully it doesn't expire too soon), and Klaus needs to do his medical, criminal ect. When it is complete, call in and make the appointment and we go from there.

    I'm now very concerned about the income, because again, completely self employed and still working on taxes with the accountants.

    Ahhh if life were easier would it be as much fun? YES!

    I have been calling and calling and calling, and my case on the auto line still says it is not there. My fiance says he has the letter, however we have not even had time to talk about it, because due to the business, we are too busy....I have not received anything from NVC though. Nothing. They said they sent a letter, but I never got it, so I asked for another. But wasn't I supposed to get a bill?

    I am confused.

    I have questions too, and while I have really looked through the immigrate2us site, there isn't that much on frankfurt. Anyone? Experience?

    I would check again - there are definitely people who have been through Frankfurt but they may no longer be active. But there is a spreadsheet with information on when they filed their waiver and when they received their approval or denial, so that will help with understanding timing and maybe even approval rates. If you post a question asking for it, someone will provide it for you.

  4. I received my NOA2 around June 22 and have heard nothing from the NVC. This isn't so bad, we are not in a hurry now, he must stay in Germany for several more months for work reasons anyway. When I call they say they haven't gotten my case either. I assume it should be there this week, or I will get a bit worried. I don't mind them taking their time, but I don't want anything lost either.

    Anyone else, how long did your case take to get to the NVC?

  5. yes i vote for 3 weeks as being 'normal' if they are busy...

    It does seem an awful long time but then you wait more for agent form generation etc etc - then they approve and wait for it to go to the embassy and then wait and then wait etc etc

    in between times, they generate your stuff but it doesn't arrive because your national post office goes on strike the day you expect it !

    then you miss your train to the embassy and your photos aren't not quite right and the visa is held up past your plane departure and then they send your green card out with the wrong name on it

    so the answer is to put yourself in a catatonic trance and only start taking an interest in life when you finally get your correct green card in your hand - then you get mugged and someone takes your wallet with the green card in it

    Let's just say circumstances - but I told Carolyn last night that I can't do this again - if we fail at some late hurdle then we either get divorced or we go live in a shack on the beach in the Canary Islands and live on sea fish.

    Seriously, I couldn't do it - it is taking over my life with all the stuff that can and does go wrong - and now a postal strike and backlog of mail! 2 weeks since the IV was generated and nothing - haring down the stairs every time a letter comes - had enough....perhaps one morning I will slip on the stair carpet and be found deceased on the door mat with the IV bill wedged between the teeth of my cold body...

    Once I get to the US I think I will live in the basement for 3 years until I get my passport - that way they can't say I have done something for which I should be deported...unless living in the basement is a crime in Florida ? The worry never ends !

    SUPRISE!!! very few basements in Florida...the water table is too high in most instances....you will be relegated to the "screen Porch"

  6. I also believe the SSN is in the event it is an interest baring account. If no interest is paid, no reason for them to have a SSN. Truly, I give the fewest number of people possible my SSN. IF they want it for your DL (some states still do this) tell them you want a different number. ID theft is made easy in many instances because we didn't really think how low people would sink to. Pity but such is life. Protect your SSN and don't use it unless you really really have to. I actually do not give it at the DR. office since I pay in cash. Now, if I give a check they will want it, because if the check is bad, they need that to prosecute me. However cash never goes bad, so...there is no reason for them to keep tabs on me, and feed me into the big health computer in the sky.

    I understand...you think you are in one place and someone changes the scenery. Im so sorry to hear about this for you. It is a painful thing you are going through. I am sure he is going through pain too, but he didn't write, so I guess I am not so concerned with him. It is tough, and you are going to do some crying, and some sobbing, just let it out. It isn't the end of the world, can feel like it, but it isn't. You know how things could end in this story....don't beat yourself up, hopefully if he is gay, he will allow him self forgiveness also. I don't see how you have done anything wrong with the gc. I agree about romantic love, it happens, it fades, it happens and it fades, and that can be all in the same week!

    Life is hard, and sometimes it really really blows. But, we preserver, go on. Stay your course, point the compass to true north and don't let the winds of change move your sails. But, if they do, tack, turn around, and keep going.

  10. Hi! i have apply for the I-129 and it has been aprove, however, there were many more steps left to be completed. My case now has been sent oversea and I have not recieve any type of infomation regarding my case. Also, they have not told me whats going on or whats my next step in processing this app. it has been 3 months now and nothing has happen since then. Can anyone help me with this topic or any advice...

    Try reading this thread and you will find it helpful. Also when you get a chance fill out your timeline.

    I am a new member to this VJ site and a dedicated member to I2US. I will be willing to post my HSL for a reference to show peeps how to start their own letter.

    You see when I found out my husband would have to file for an I-601 I needed lots of questions answered. I didn't know where to Start or how to start my letter. So I read thru the many Approved HSL letter posted on the I2US site and it help me out (ten full).

    I got good pointers here and there.

    So if a MOD reads this topic. I would love to post my HSL without the personnal names and so on to have peeps use as a reference.

    My question is, if I am required to send an I-134 to my fiance for the visa interview, then why do they also have me do the I-864 before the interview? I thought it was only done at time of adjustment. It requires 125% of poverty line and the other is 100% of poverty line. Now I understand why everyone says, think 125....but isnt this odd?

    Do I send in the I-864 or just pay the bill and then send it in after we are married and during the AOS?

    Ok I get it, we PAY for it now, but we dont send it in until we do the AOS, after marriage...prepayment fee's, smart, ride the spread of the money in the bank....

  13. I am also reading I can count my fiance's income , as long as it will continue from the same source. We have a business together, and when he comes, we will still have the business together.....can we count the money he gets from the business as income also then?

    Seems like a dumb question, because I am thinking the answer is Yes...

    but I defer to the brain trust who have really studied these matters,we bow in your greatness!
