  1. Thank you YuAndDan and Meauxna..

Yes either me or my husband will petition for my son ( step son-step father relationship was created before his 18th b'day )

My son will still need to continue his study in home country even after he got his GC ( apply for re-entry permit )

It's just bothering me after I read that it probably took at least 10 years to get visa for unmarried son over 21 y/o

  2. Dear friends,

I and my husband could not afford for my son to study university here, but we would like him to have green card in the future.

He is 17 years old, and we planned to submit petition before he turned to 21 y/o

Could you advice when would be the latest date we submit I-130 for him to get the benefit as an immediate relative of USC?

Is it the day before his 21st b'day or a month, three months...

or as long as the USCIS receieved the petition before his 21st b'day ...

or is the immigrant visa has to be issued before his 21st b'day .....

or he has to enter the US before his 21st b'day..

    :o:o

Anyone has the same experience? thank you for sharing...

  3. Giving it to the airline people next time you travel is probably the safest thing to do with it.

Rolling it up and smoking it is probably the least safe.

Claudeth still has her I-94 too, she got her GC without an interview. She has since had to renew her passport so there is nothing in it now, no visa, no CFO and no I-94. I guess we will find out what the USCIS wants when we remove conditions.

yes you were right, we might need it someday , thanks

  4. hi and congratulations...

there was a thread about this question...

from what i read you can take it out and put it in a scrapbook or anywhere you like..you have your greencard now that will get you back into the country..i dont think its necessary for it to be in your passport anymore....i took mine out and just placed in my passport wallet just in case when i do return to oz they ask for it but i doubt if they would lol..

maybe someone who has travelled out of the country can tell of their experience and the I-94..

    good luck

    kath

Thanks Kath (F) I'll do the same for now

  5. well, i am getting to that, but i still need some driving practice before i go take the DMV test

OK...then go get either a Learner's Permit or a state ID until you are ready to get the licence. My husband got his State Id and is studying for the written test.

Maybe it's a silly question

Can I use my learner permit as an ID? or Should I apply both? Learner permit and state ID ?

    Thank you (F)

  6. But how am I to know it is a mistake? The green card clearly states an expiration date 10 years from now. It's a legal document, isn't it? I have to wonder about the first group of people that started getting green cards without interviews. I wonder if they were so quick to call USCIS and complain that their cards were issued without an interview and it must be some kind of mistake. It seems the "rules" are changing all the time.

Of course I will call at some point and see what they want me to do, but I think you can see my point.

Did you receive Welcoming letter ? It says :" ................... your new card will expire two years from you became a permanent resident. By law your resident status is conditional, and you must apply to remove those conditions before your card expires. ........................"

Anyway, Congratulation for your GC

  7. Today is DAY 38 for me

    and still waiting

My AOS approved at 10.30pm !!!!

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Wow! Congratulations Daisy. I am glad that you're finally approved! Today, I just finished my vaccination supplement was transferred by civil surgeon with a sealed envelope. Hey, may I ask? Have you filled out the I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status? Because I printed out this form with 4 pages ( 1 for applicant, 1 for physician or health department, 1 for civil surgeon and 1 for USCIS A-FILE). I am confused of this? By the way, can you give me the forms for me to be filled out, please?

I pray that I wouldn't receive any RFE's when I pass all the applications.

Thankyou J*C*H2007 , I was approved in 38 days, that was AMAZING

I entered US based on K-1 visa, so I don't have to submit I-693. ( follow this link for the form http://www.uscis.gov/i-693 )

I hope you would not receieved RFE and get a quick approval, I'll pray for you . Good Luck

  8. I have been blessed during this entire process. I was approved in approx. 2 months and that was with a RFE! Some have it good while others encounter a difficult journey. I am spiritual and I believed a lot of praying helped myself and hubby. We are happy and I am glad he can now assimilate into US society. There is a huge difference when you can go to work and mingle in society. I felt my husband was trapped in the house.

I feel the same too, we are nothing without GOD's help

God led me to VJ :-) (F)

  9. my question is

    the RFE saying

w2, 1099, employment evidance, and tax return

my wife telling me she never recived 1099 but she only recived w2, she work for phrmacy

how she can get her 1099?

If I'm not wrong, 1099 is from the bank stating how much interest you earned from the whole year ( anyone else knows about 1099 ??? )

My husband didn't include 1099 for my affidavit, he submitted Tax return 2006 , W2, 6 months pay stub and employment letter.

    Good luck!
