  1. a friend of mine has there adjustment of status interview on the 27th. they moved into a new house on Oct 9th.

    they forgot to do a change of address with the uscis. will this cause problems?

    thanks

    They should file a change of address as soon as possible. The USCIS needs to know where they are. Now if they already knew about their interview date, then there shouldn't any problems if they show up to it.

  2. Regarding your question on why you have send your AOS to Chicago instead of your Texas, I can explain that. Texas may be what you thought was your district but most Adjustment of Status' go through the Chicago Office. Then they are distributed to the other offices, until finally you go for you interview at your local office, which is probably not Texas. Take are closer look at the I-485 directions for mailing, it is very complicated that is for sure. My husband and I filed ours to the Chicago center, then later we had mail more evidence to Missori or something like that later, then go for biometrics in Jacksonville, FL, and finally have our interview in Atlanta, GA! (we live in southeast georgia)

  3. I have a question about:

    The third item down under”YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS”

    Says: A completed Affidavit(s) of Support (Form I-864) with all required evidence, including the following, for each of your sponsors (unless already submitted):

    Federal Income Tax returns and W-2”s, or certified IRS printouts, for the last 3 years;

    Letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for the past 2 months;

    Evidence of your sponsor’s and/or co-sponsors United States Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status.

    Do we need to bring any of these items since we already did this for the AOS 485?

    Please let me know.

    Yes, I would bring at least a current paycheck stub. We went to interview believing we already submitted everything we need to for the I-485 and the officer gave us a hard time for not having at least a recent paycheck stub. Her reason was, how were they to know I still worked there.

  4. Our noa1 was in july, we've already had our biometrics appointment and EAD has been ordered but still can't check our case online. Anyone else? Did anyone call them, and if so, what did they say?

    Thanks.

    The USCIS is not very good by keeping up with your status online. We have had better luck by requesting them to email us whenever anything changes in our case. We have had our biometrics and received our EAD and our interview, yet our case has said since day one, "Pending".

  5. My husband and I filed for Adjustment of Status for him. We have our interview date at the end of this month. My husband has received advance parole and we are planning to go to see his family in italy. However my husbands passport expired this month and without thinking he sent the expired passport containing the visa he came here with and his I-94 to the Italian Embassy so he could get his new one. On the notice we recieved from USCIS it says that we must bring it with us. We have copies of it, but not the originals now. It states on the notice that we will be denied if we fail to bring everything with us. What can we do at this point? :help:

  6. My husband and I are currently waiting for our interview date. We have done the biometrics and are just waiting for our interview. My husband was here on a J-1 visa, with no two rule, he had a license during that time. But his J-1 Visa has expired and his license did on the same day too. Is there any way he can get a license in the state of Georgia with his AON? He really needs to have one, he also has only his passport to use as an ID.

  7. Ok so my husband is here on a J-1 visa that does not have the 2 year rule. We are currently about to send his I 130 off, but I have a question about question 22. We live in Georgia so do I put Atlanta for the city and Georgia for the state, or do I put the service center that we are sending it too (which is the Texas Service Center)?

    Also how could I fill out paperwork to just adjust his status for now to something longer then the J-1 he currently has?

  8. I need help! I married a J-1 Visa, and we are just now finishing up the I-130 and G-325a's and are going to send them in. Now his J-1 visa is up in about 5 months. Is there anything that we can do so that he doesn't have to leave in 5 months? He does not have the 2 year rule, so no waiver is required.
