Hello! My case is in transit to the Bogota embassy as I type this. I had some questions that maybe others might know the answer too. Will my beneficiary get her packet in the physical mail or email? also, is there a wait to get an interview date? and if so, how days of a wait is there. thanks!

They will receive an email with an attachment.  The interview date could immediate or weeks.

This seems to be the proper thread to ask this question: How long will they keep a passport? The reason is my fiance had her interview on the 15th of July. The CO said all was good but requested a certified court document from me. The embassy received the document on the 24th of July as was updated in ceac.state.gov

My fiance had here interview in Bogota on the 8th and we had the same issue regarding documentation and we are still waiting.

I don't know about the US Embassy in Ghana, (but I suspect it to be the same), but my fiance just had her interview in Bogota, CO, on July 15th. The CO wanted a authenticated copy of my divorce before granting approval. Some places don't require it, but being that Ghana has a high rate of fraud and from what I have read, the CO's are particularly scrutinizing, I would send not the originals but notarized and authenticated copies, those accounted from your local county/parish courthouse for example, to your beneficiary. But don't be surprised if they ask for more.

    Good luck!

Same thing happened to us. We had our interview in Bogota on Jul 8th and we are still waiting.

    Gracias.

  6. Interview was successful but like some they wanted certified copies.  Those documents were sent and two weeks passed before my fiancé received an email saying our cased continued in AP.  I noticed when checking the status, the “case last updated” date changed from 29 Jul to 30th but since then nothing.  It could just be my nerves when were told everything was fine but for lack of some certified copies to approve, it seems strange to be taking so long.  I hope I’m wrong.

  7. My GF had her interview at the Bogota embassy July 8.  After the interview, she was advised that all was well but the visa couldn't be approved until some additional documentation was provided (original birth certificate and certified copies of divorce).  The documents were sent to the embassy and we had to wait two weeks just to receive an email stating that our case is in administrative processing.

    Does this seem normal?
